AcidGlow could never figure out how to do athenas tree special
the cool thing about this game for me is the atmosphere. basically the characters are brought to purgatory and they fight to prevail on eachother; that's why you face paradise (Athena) and inferno (Red Arremer) bosses. Even the music is strange on purpose. Overall the game is supposed to look dark and coarse. i think people didn't like that much cause they expected something more above the lines of capcom cheerful and colorful games. The only thing I agree with is the fact that the cast is really small for a cross-over game and the bosses are lame...
It's like the Worms series of games. Look at Worms Armageddon and Worms Clan Wars. Comparing those two is like comparing Insurgent to the Snoopy and Charlie Brown Movie.

You should also note which version of Mega Man they used. And no Mega Man was in the CvS games, for some reason.
I always felt like this game was more of a labor of love than CvS.

One thing that sets this game apart from most fighting games that I've played is the voice acting of the characters. It makes every move feel so much more epic.

Hugo looks pretty decent in SNK style, although I'm a big fan of Capcom style dots. and I just love the hitting effects...the sound and dots really go well together. It's a masterpiece
Even though I heard this wasn't as good a Capcom VS. SNK 2, I would still like to try this game out. If only just for the novelty of seeing Capcom characters animated by SNK artists.

Luke Cimino SNK vs Capcom was exclusive to the original Xbox. It never was ported to the PS2 or GameCube where Capcom vs SNK 2 were on all three consoles. This game looks so bad ass. I would've loved to play this on the PlayStation 2.

i love svc chaos, but its one of those fighting games that feels like it was rushed to hell. The voice acting is rushed, the hits doesnt feel like it actually connects and the game just doesnt feel complete at all
Remember owning this game on PS2. Was CRAP compared to CapCom vs SNK 2, and no, I'm not biased. I owned most of the King of Fighters games during the 90's/early 2000's and this game felt rushed and slapped together. Felt mediocre at best.
+MrRiggidig I had this game too, and you're right. I think I had it on the Xbox though. I recall doing a quarter circle forward + punch, and Ryu kicked. I turned it in to Gamestop the next day.

-Guile had a 1 second charge and an infinite as a result.
-Chun Li might have been the best normal character in the game because her jump B was awesome and her FADC f,d,d\f+B was ungodly.
-Zero had a juggle infinite and he was the best character in the game barring Geese Howard.
-Demitri had a safe sweep and a spammable uppercut that almost nullified FADC.
-Akuma's air fireball alone made him a nightmare.
Outside of Mr. Karate and Geese, no one is a threat on SNK side.
I love this game even if its unbalanced, just to see Violent Ken make it worth all those hours at the arcade
I have heard of it and I use them but when it comes to games like this I enjoy the feeling of turning on the tv putting in the disc and playing it. Not just the game but the feelings that surround playing it.

I damn love this game! First I think the game is bad cause the characters are not balance. But then when I played SVC Chaos over and over, I think this is a good games. Not about the characters or balance gameplay, but about the atmosphere here, so dark, so gloomy, so chaos. And I love doing exceed move especially my favorite fighter, Mr. Karate. But then, I love all SVC character. I love redrawn sprite for Capcom characters too. Too bad they left SNK's and Capcom's unique characters like Nakoruru and Morrigan. The game feel more like KOF Vs. Street Fighter but it's all okay for me now. For Capcom side, I think there are to much 'shadaloo' characters. They can swipe Balrog with Dudley (since I love this British boxer), swipe M. Bison with another female fighter (I suggest Morrigan or Felicia) then make him a secret character like Geese. For SNK side, Choi is bad choice, they could change him with better character like Tizoc from Garou Mark of the Wolves (hell yeah I love that Mexican werstler). Love your video afterall. :)

+Öey!-Gaming SF5 might have rushed as far as content but its still looks beautiful. Street Fighter has always dominated snk in the graphics department. SvC had more people returning this game at Gamestop because thats how I bought it.

Capcom vs snk 2 was so much better
They would first have to get a license agreement with Capcom because they would be using half of their cast to cash in on the download for the game. It's the same issue with Capcom wanting to make Capcom vs SNK 2 for download. They would have to contact SNK Playmore for an agreement somewhere but Capcom stated that's not a game they can "waste time on now"... too bad..

SNK have only three options now:
1-Get a Kickstarter campaign.
2-Merge with Atlus, Arc System Work, Capcom, Sega, or Namco.
3-Let one of the above five companies buy SNK. So we'll be able to see:-

This game = so much missed potential. Having KOF characters with redrawn SFII-style Capcom characters? It could have been the best game in the series...weren't it for the sketchy combat, crap animation quality, dull backgrounds, AWFUL music and lack of real content.
5/10 from me. I liked Zero. I loved Violent Ken. Hated Guile.
I hated Sagat's stance and face. Made him look like me if I was from Thailand.
And Bison's... hand... just fucking look at it. :V
To be fair to SNK, this was made to finish their contract with Capcom (for each of them to make two fighting games with each others characters in it) when the Neo Geo was on its last legs. It was more of a "hey we're back, bet we need to finish this contract first" game then anything. NeoGeo Battle Coliseum improved pretty much everything, expect it didn't have any Capcom characters.

MvC2 was as haphazardly put together and tied with a bowstring like SVC. It's brokenness has become a legendary point, however, unlike in case with SVC.

It is available on PS2 but only in Japan. However it is available in all regions including North America on the original Xbox.
this game is pretty and has great sprites (typical SNK) the problem was the very low roaster,the punch or kick sounds is awful,no 3v3 like the predecessors CvS and CvS2,no select grooves,no God (or Omega) Rugal and Shin Akuma as secret final bosses (instead they gave us Athena and Red Arremer) and it was very unbalanced

There needs to be a demand for them to take a game into consideration to get ported. I think this game will never see the light of "downloadable game" X_X.

Its because of Sony's scummy policy about bringing 2D games into the USA PS2 market during 2002-2005. So this is why the game's Xbox version was released to the US as an exclusive, along with King of Fighters Neowave and Samurai Shodown V.

I dont know, the music sucks and dated as if it has that 90's era feel to it. The distribution of damage for each hit during a super is also ridiculous, the first graze of hit will deliver a chunk of damage then the rest of the hit animation will produce small damages

All SVC Games? There's only 1 on arcade and one on neogeo pocket. I have the opposite thinking. As much as I love the game, I know it's more disliked then liked. But it's not that easy for Capcom or SNK to port their cross over games. Heck, even CVS2 is more liked and Capcom themselves said it's too much work to go through to port it.

He has no super moves. He only has 1 Exceed move. The bosses in the game were different in terms of super moves. Red Arremer has alot of stage control with projectile spam and powerful fireballs. He didn't need a super move.
