Many people look at the relatively small part count of an old tube amp, and think “ I can build that!!” and it goes shockingly wrong(literally). You did a masterful building this and the tone speak for itself.
Awesome work man!! I just finished my first amp too, the Mojotone version of this Princeton Reverb. It was so fun and rewarding!!!! Hope it brings you many years of great music 👍
Ah yes, I've been waiting for this video. I like how you have your own custom logo. Sounds really nice, just like it should. Well done, Landon, I'm seriously impressed. Especially since i tried something similar and failed. These are not easy. It didn't help that my multimeter broke at the beginning of my attempt, and I figured i didn't need it if i was careful.
@@landonbailey I’m tempted to build a Marshall clone amp, but they keep getting more expensive like everything else. I can’t keep up with the prices anymore. It’s out of control and getting worse every day… sorry didn’t mean to rant… take care…
I see you have a link for the waterslide, what about that sweet Bailey metal logo? Thinking about making one of these and putting those same logos on mine so people think I got the amp from you.
Sounds and looks awesome. You made it look easy, I’m intimidated by all those parts. The custom decal, did you make it or can you provide link? Came out great 👍🏻
Stew Mac tends to be pricey, but it's convenient. My only issue is with some of the parts. FI, JJ tubes are hardly "top shelf", and their 6V6S tubes are based on their 7189's, which sound more like a compressed 6L6 than a real 6V6GT. Do yourself a favor and order a pair of the new TAD Redbase 6L6GT-STR. The standard EHx 12ax7's aren't horrible, if that's what those are. You could use them, but they can be a bit "messy" in the high-end. Dr. Z uses the Tung Sol 12ax7's for his amps, but the new Mil Spec EHx 7025A's are also great, albeit a bit cleaner, and with no measurable microphonics. The JJ ecc83MG are pretty good too. Smooth, but not as much high harmonics as the others I mentioned. You could mix them all to taste. See which you prefer in the PI slot with the amp cranked.
You can also do better than that Jensen speaker for not a lot of money. The WGS G10C is the best ceramic bang for buck, being warmer and fuller without harshness. It's really an ideal 10". Also, is that a 2-spring reverb tank? For that money, they can't supply a 3-spring?! You can get a 3-spring tank cheap online. It makes a difference. 2-springs sound shallow and obviously wobbly. The 3rd spring adds lushness and complexity to the wobble.
Is the reason for building it by hand primarily for the fun/experience of it? It seems like there's barely any savings as the kit only costs $200 less than just buying the actual amp itself (retails for $1499 vs $1299 for the kit), and you have a lot of labor on top of that. No judgement, but wondering if there are other upsides that I don't understand.
@@landonbailey In all honesty Landon, I would gladly pay an extra thousand dollars to buy an amp that’s hand wired by you, but the problem is that if I bought the kit it would be hand wired by me, and I don’t respect my own workmanship enough to pay extra for it!

Hi Landon, beautiful amp I hope you feel proud of this build. I really enjoyed this 3 part series cheers mate....
Glad you enjoyed it
Many people look at the relatively small part count of an old tube amp, and think “ I can build that!!” and it goes shockingly wrong(literally). You did a masterful building this and the tone speak for itself.
It's an advanced level project for sure. I loved the challenge :)
Beautiful, rich, clear tones!
Your meticulous construction paid off big time…thats a PRINCETON!
Thanks!

Very cool!
Excellent stuff Landon. You've outdone yourself with this little 3 part series. 🎸🍻
Thanks a ton!
Best sounding amp you have!
worked out so well!
Wow! I'm really impressed! Nice, clean, careful work. And a personalized logo too, that's the extra sparkle on top! Hat off to you! 🎩👏🏼👌🏼👍🏼🤘🏻
Thank you very much!
Really loved this three part! Been wanting to build and mod an amp kit. I think I know what I want for my birthday now!

hey thanks!
Nice intro and beautiful guitar. Thanks for the great content.
Thanks!
Beautiful tones. Nice build.
Nice work, I love that you got pro looking logo/name plate and stenciling. Looks great but sounds even better, awesome…
🤓🎸👍🙏🌎☮️
Thanks! 👍 I saw other amp builds and some looked empty without the name badge and logo

Yeah bloody good job that. I see Bailey amps as very high end, spoken of in the hushed tones normally associated with Dumble
Nice job....
Thank you! Cheers!
Well done!
Just found your channel today. BRO! How have I never seen your RUclips? Algorithms...whatever 🤔. Keep up the great content.
Welcome aboard!

Top T shirts as usual. Nice guitar selection too. Play guitar & have a break from building stuff.
That intro play was amazing. Did you come up with that? Sounds so beautiful
Hey thanks! Ya just a noodle riff I play that sounded good
The kit is wildly priced in CAN, but I suppose the idea is you get an experience as well as an amp that will last generations.
Try comparing it to the price of the hand-wired Princeton
@@landonbailey no.

I made it in a text editor, then printed it out on the decal paper I bought on Amazon
@@landonbailey oh cool, thanks.

ya you said all this copy/pasted stuff 3 weeks ago
Bailey, ye who bails…tone…amp! Here Here! Hence forth Landon, ye shall reap glorious tone.

Finally!
These Bailey amps are hotter than ever.
Sold out!

you need to compare it with the hand-wired model :) www.fender.com/en-US/guitar-amplifiers/vintage-pro-tube/64-custom-princeton-reverb/8181000000.html
It's absolutely awesome Landon, but at that price, in Canada, you might as well spend a bit more and have the real thing.
The Hand-wired model right!? 😱😀🎸
@@landonbailey In all honesty Landon, I would gladly pay an extra thousand dollars to buy an amp that’s hand wired by you, but the problem is that if I bought the kit it would be hand wired by me, and I don’t respect my own workmanship enough to pay extra for it!
So, now that it's finished and you've had some time with it, how does it compare to your Fender Princeton? How do you feel about the build process? 🤘🎸
the 12" Blue is boomier, and I'm actually surprise how loud a 10" speaker can get. I'll have to compare them side by side in a future video :)
How much? No not for the kit but for a Bailey hand wired amp haha.
at least a few tons of Maple Syrup :)
@@landonbailey oh I would no doubt supply at least a few tons, I mean its Maple Syrup haha
No Gretsch tones?!😢
I don’t have a Gretsch!
@@landonbailey Then it's time to ask Uncle Sweetwater if he will let you "test" out a Gretsch!!
