    any float will do . preston head every thing preston probably lives in a preston house

      I always think 18" is a good starting point but it can depend on the depth and wind. So if you are fishing in shallow water you may want a longer length so not to spook the fish or if in deeper water less will work as long as it not too windy. Trial and error but start at 18" and get a feel for it 👍
