This was my introduction not only to Sting but to pro wrestling as a kid. I remember that when this ended that night I was screaming " WHAT WAS THAT! WHAT JUST HAPPENED ? WHO WAS THAT COOL GUY WITH THE VULTURE. MORE....NOW!! PLEASE! I was hooked ever sence
3:53 When a man’s heart is full of deceit, it burns up, dies, and a dark shadow falls over his soul. From the ashes of a once great man has risen a curse. A wrong that must be righted. We look to the skies for a vindicator. Someone to strike fear into the black hearts of the same men who created him. The battle between good and evil has begun. Against an army of shadows comes a dark warrior. The purveyor of good with the voice of silence and a mission of justice. This... is... Sting.
Truly one of the defining moments of WCW and Crow Sting vs the nWo. He should've kept this theme throughout and once the nWo was conquered, move on to the next villains to conquer.
@@ChrisM07 Even the nWo Hollywood vs. Wolfpac could've worked if there was a real blow off. Instead they just merged and that was the end of WCW as a competitor to the WWF
@@fizzyfuzz5878 it actually did work, the Wolfpack was alongside Goldberg and DDP for most over Babyface, it was just after the Fingerpoke of Doom, people started to hate it
I love how sting would dare the nWo to attack him whenever he would turn his back. That Vulture did the same thing. Wings open as if he was saying "Go ahead nWo I f*cking dare you." I'll always remember that show. That was the best end to a show that I've seen in WCW. Ominous Message sent.
One of my favorite moments was a lit show to the feud was built so well and I like how they took their time leading up to it kept you interested and entertained and sting being the only one to take them down such a badass boss sting is
You will never see anything this huge or epic in wrestling ever again even tho this is all scripted I really do believe in stings heart he felt like he went dark on everyone at that time
Story is a note was supposed to be attached to the vulture but apparently fell off on it's way to the ring. I don't know if it's true because this segment was awesome without it.
@@Jay_Digital I think the eeriness is better here. No big threat, no pizzazz Just a vulture ominously perched on the rope, with that sound playing in the arena, with nobody talking
This on the best and final Clash of the Champions to ever be seen on TBS. I miss these days of wrestling.

Greatest character wrestling has ever given us. Honestly, one of the greatest in any forum. My childhood hero. Sting 🦂

This... is... Sting.
The fading in of the music as the lights faded out was awesome
This gave me chills at the end when I saw this
Great childhood memories 🦂
Anyone notice that macho man gets startled when he hears his own voice during their ring entrance?
This was Sting’s best theme tune.
Yeah man chilling yet strong and beautiful, quite unlike typical wcw entrance themes woulda loved to hear a metal version of it
This was one of the best moments of sting crow era.
Crow version of Sting...The best....
And with that Sting declares absolute war against the New World Order. WCW may 96 - Dec 97 was the peak of wrestling imo.
Agreed.
Agreed.
And was also the end of WCW
Nash threatening to hit the bird with the title popped me hard 😂
Nash always was funny
Lol at macho man freaking out when he heard his own voice
hahaaha

I had heard that the voiceover was done by Steve's young son. I could be mistaken though. With a voice of silence... 🥶❤
Still get goosebumps watching this. Thank you for an amazing career STING!
Scott hall was the one who came up with the idea of this version of sting
This is the most genius thing in wrestling. Period. No one will ever top this.
hmmm Hogan turn heel definitely tops this.
And it was totally botched
It was also a terrible fuckin botch, you mark
Was suppose to have a note saying Hogan’s souls
Fact. The only flaw was the pay off.
I remember this. Clash of Champions was a free televised event and I recorded it on vhs.
I saw it live. It still gives me chills. Sting was always my favorite wrestler growing up.
Idk why ppl criticize this angle for being dumb it bugged me out seeing this as a kid and it’s still one of my favorite saga to close a show
People love the angle, the crow Sting character, and the buildup to Sting vs Hogan. They just hate how Starrcade 97 turned out.
The problems with the NWO really started showing in 1998, particularly the white/black vs. red/black period.

What? Who the hell ever said this angle was dumb? I sure never did nor did anyone I ever met.

I'd be pissed if I was on the clean up crew that night
I was 17 at this time, and i marked out so hard at this. Still do to this day

I remember watching this with my cousins and I though sting was super human
absolutely captivating
I love how the vulture is turning his back to the NWO and holding out his wings just like Sting did.
Might be the greatest promo of all time
Those tag team belts look unusually small with Hall and especially Nash holding them lol.
This was freaking awesome
My favorite Sting moment
Dies in the dark shadows falls over his Soul
bischoff was phenomenal in 97
just realized after all these years that the vulture did not have blinders on... ooo boy that was a risk... all those lights and sounds and people.
That vulture sitting on the ring rope like Rodan.
there's an alternate universe where the bird attacked Sting up in that balcony pecking him in the face and this gimmick went nowhere ...
bro what bu-but great muta😮
I wonder is that the same voiceover girl from the crow movie
Great as sting is you can argue he doesn't quite get the credit he deserves
Those vultures are actually beautiful lol.
The fact Sting never gave credit to Brandon Lee's Crow always bothered me
Happy birthday to the nwo
Epic
That's a king vulture sting is holding.
Of course it was. I never saw Sting say it was anything else.
4:32 ladies and gentleman STING
Shouldn't there birthday be at bash at the beach???
Yea it really should be
The Final Clash
I thought the NWO was a bunch of badasses badasses don't get PUNKED by birds
Good days
This is how he should of debuted in wwe but face to face with Vince the man that truly created him
Hol up...clash of champions 35? 1997???
best halloween gimmick ever
If they so damn tough why they scared of king vulture.
You will never see anything this huge or epic in wrestling ever again even tho this is all scripted I really do believe in stings heart he felt like he went dark on everyone at that time
Thought it was a turkey lmao
Extra sharp cheddar cheese but cool nonetheless
Sting is doing a crow gimmick holding a vulture 😂😂🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
That's what I said.
They are the birds of death
I disagree. The vulture proves he wasn't doing a crow gimmick. The Crow was dead. Sting was ALIVE!
Its the peak of wrestling my friend
Hopefully aew and wwe can find this type of formula
I remember this it was a Thursday night I was in bed already I was 11
scott norton should’ve been the nwo leader
What is the huge botch during this
Story is a note was supposed to be attached to the vulture but apparently fell off on it's way to the ring. I don't know if it's true because this segment was awesome without it.
I think it was supposed to be a picture of Hogan which would help to explain why the NWO was afraid of a bird.
Kevin Nash trying to kill the vulture with the belt.
@@Jay_Digital I think the eeriness is better here. No big threat, no pizzazz

The Undertaker would kick Stings ass.
Nah he wouldn't this sting was too athletic and strong
