Chris, if you really want to wind them up, pay for it with multiple checks of random amounts totalling the fine. It'll cost them more in admin/processing charges. I've done it a few times and they can't refuse the payment, as it is perfectly legitimate.

I got done by the ULEZ in Bradford (Shithole) passing through. Didnt think anywhere but London had ULEZ active but got the fine, paid it. Week later the tour of Britain cycle race came through town. There was more combustion engines with camera, support, ambulance and police vehicles and the estate cars carrying spare bikes than there was competitors riding bicycles. Felt shafted for a second time. Like you say, its all about making the money.

As a bike dude with an enviro degree i thought id mention, while 0.04% may not sound like a lot, the relative proportion to previous levels is the main concern. Weirdly, the thing hardly anyone talks about is methane which molecule-for-molecule has something like an 80x higher impact on the greenhouse gas effect than CO2

Perhaps you can explain this for me. Water vapour filters much more IR radiation than CO2 eg its a more effective "greenhouse gas". Yet on days when water vapour/green house gas is super high ie a cloudy day, peak temps are actually lower. How does this square with more "greenhouse gases" increasing temps?

The new ZX6R is already available in the US, it doesnt have ride by wire throttle (and the quickshifter is still just up) also horsepower is down from 129ps to 123ps and from 70nm to 69nm torque.
Very glad kawasaki isnt letting the 600s die out, even though every other manufacturer has stopped caring about them.

There are musings of having a ULEZ "no charge" zone in Manchester , yea right foot in the door before putting a charge in place.
200hp sub 500lb M1000XR... that is the bike that will see me selling my Multistrada.
So I think they DO have a use case but maybe it's just something that makes sense in Countries like the US where riding is spread out so much. Over here what I do with the Multi is load it up with a couple weeks worth of gear, hop on and ride to places that are fun to ride. Often those are thousands of miles of riding to get to - so big and comfortable is a nice perk. Then once you get there, you strip off all the farkles to leave in the hotel and engage hooligan mode in the twisties. The Multi with only a piddling 160hp is serious fun in the Mountains... the XR has always been the only bike I seriously thought was an alternative to the Multi for this use case.
And you only posted this an hour ago and your bundle is already sold out (though they'd probably not sell it to filthy Americans anyway)
I mean, I own an XR, and would REALLY like having shift cam, so buying an MXR seems like the logical choice.
Compared to current XR models, the Multi is honestly better in most aspects, more stable, and a bit easier to ride on the faster end. However the XR is by far better value if $ is a factor.
The release of this bike has a good portion of current owners pretty interested.
There are in fact a lot of people who asked for this , me included.

About the sprint races...they are partially to blame, because the ratio of practice to racing has changed massively. Now because there is a lot more at stake , injuries are more obvious and more significant. I preferred just the main race
My 1987 Honda Super Magna which I'm sure is Euro 0 compliant, does not get charged in an clean air zone looking at the Gov ULEZ Checker. Also the New ZX6-R will be Fly by wire as its has riding modes and all the Kawi's with riding modes have FBW :). On the downside I live in Bristol and I shocked that another city has worse roads than us, I can go for a swim in some of the potholes here.

Not surprised by the Derby and Nottingham ones, reported the same faults several times on the same roads but they just continue to do half arsed fixes that get destroyed as soon as there's a bit of heavy rain. Not fun to have your front disappear into a rut in the road that you can't see when its dark.
Sub-contracting probably isn't cheaper long term but like any business, they only think of the short term and any kick-backs they may get, allegedly.

Motorbikes should always be ULEZ, Congestion Charge and parking charges exempt (and also, lower 'road fund licence'), because most cars have 1 person in, so you could incentivize them onto motorbikes = lower congestion = cleaner air = easier parking etc etc

its a case of spot the road that isn't fallen apart all the drains are full blocked with gravel from lose rubbish chippings they call a roads. I totally agree stop sub contracting out to the cheapest bids that use the low grade tarmac .Not like they enough to do to have your own work staff .
They spend mkre money sending out reports explaining / defending their choice of contractor ... which they invariably have to break contract with, within the year... than they do.. fixng anything
Northern Ireland roads is 30% terrible, it has chewed up my tyres and they only have 800 miles on them so they're not old tyres.
My uncle is in his 60s but still loves track days, his S1000XR makes that easy for him to do and be quick, I'd say he'd love the M1000XR if it actually does make a difference performance wise.

you have it wrong on ULEZ, as a Londoner it's critical for improving air quality. Bikes can be tested to see if they comply. My 2000 honda CBR600 F4 passed the ULEZ test
It's worth remembering that Toprak went from thentop manufacturer at time (Kawasaki) to Yamaha, who were nowhere really, and won a world title a couple of years later.
Not really true. The Yamaha was already getting there. Michael won both races at Donington. Don't remember if Lowes won a race aswell, but both riders were getting closer to the podium.

In one of the press release picture showing the TFT display you can see the throttle cable so no ride by wire and no auto-blip sadly. It also seem to be a reduction in hp from 127 to 122 but unsure what true or not.
They're out in the US and no change in electronics, so no up and down quickshifter or ride by wire. There is a slight reduction in total HP output at the top end about %10 more torque throughout the rev range.

@@Chambers36TheEnter The ZX6R had power modes (A/B) and KTRC Traction control (Off,1,2,3) since 2013 (my bike track bike is a 2013). They probably just added preset mode with names instead of only manually setting power and TC. Maybe more then 2 maps now?
I'm in Thailand lads, the road systems over here (one of the worlds most dangerous) scary stuff, the road surface is one of many hazards. Just to give an example, at some T-junction's, the person approaching to turn left or right has right of way! So at some junctions (god only knows which ones), other road users are expected to allow folk out from side roads. This equates to other road users routinely pulling out of any side junction possibly without even looking, or even then driving against the flow of traffic. Agog is what I was for the first year here. You just have to ignore what isn't affecting you, filter it out, try not to get angry. They've had no training at all, they don't even know when to use their indicators bless em. With little or no legislative enforcement, it's insane. Why? After 8 years over here, there is only one answer I can think of that fits, because they don't want to and that takes a certain type of person, a type of person all too commonly found at the top these days. I have a 650 ninja and a 150 scooter and I pray for my safety and protection every time I go out. (are those your hair products on the desk lads ? ;)
The new ZX6 Ninja 129PS is about identical output to my classic 1995 ZXR750 L3 project bike, nearly 20 years on!

bring back the serious little bikes. you can't enjoy a superbike on the road these days. most people can't ride one even on the track. supersport bikes are getting harder to sell. you really need something people can seriously learn on and enjoy day in day out

ULEZ,, I could rant all day about the Mayor. Regarding bikes, if you go on the ULEZ checker, I have found BMWs are shown as cars pre a certain date. Also. you can have the EXACT SAME BIKE, not compliant, and one registered six months later compliant. There is no database, so if you pass the test, at one point only one testing station, now I think two, charging 3x the MOT test for an emissions test and your bike passes then the person next door with the same bike also has to pass the test. If you write to the manufacturer and they give you a complaint letter you might get away with the time and faf of doing it and sending it to TFL, but that bike may have a full race system and genuinely not compliant but because you the letter it can be registered as compliant. If as Mayor you have the power to TAX and FINE people, you have to have in place a system that is consistent and perfect. That is the privilege of having that power, GET IT RIGHT AND FAIR FOR THE PEOPLE YOU REPRESENT!

However i just got a 1997 zx6r with 9000 genuine miles on it which says it's doing 140 at 12000 revs for just £1000.As a 55 year old below average rider i can't see any benefit in splashing out for more expensive bangery.I'm glad there are people who buy new obviously otherwise there wouldn't be any 26 year old bargains for me to buy.
