    I bought a 2017 zx6r for my graduation present to myself. Walked into the dealer and told him I want a 636. He said "we have one right here. It just got delivered." It had show room lights giving it the "heaven light" look. I didnt look at any other bike. Absolutely love it. Bought it at 900 miles and currently at 16k. It's a beast of a bike and actually my daily.

  • @Deeroc25
    @Deeroc25 2 года назад +223

    Yes !! My beloved 636 finally getting some love from Papa Yam !! Confirmation bias baby 😂🤣. I followed the traditional path. Started on a Ninja 400. 2 years and 18k miles later I moved up to my 2021 ZX-6R. I first rode a 636 at a Kawi demo day and immediately fell in love with that beautiful combination of power and smoothness. It seems to be in fashion now for some moto vloggers to say that the 600 class not practical for the street and is only good for track. I must be doing something wrong because I have a blast one my bike and I ride exclusively on the street. It may not be the most comfortable bike to ride, but it makes up for it with breathtaking power and awesome handling.😍😍

    • @claytonsautodetailing8070
      @claytonsautodetailing8070 2 года назад +9

      It’s not that the 600s aren’t practical for the street, I think it’s that there are other bikes that are way more practical. I went the opposite path, starting on an R6 for 3 years then stepping down to an R3, then up to an RS660. I loved the R6 sound but hated riding, the R6 didn’t want to just chill out. Went down to the R3 and really honed my skills as a rider, then up to the Aprilia. Both bikes ride at a great street pace, but will come alive when I want them to. Safe riding

      @@claytonsautodetailing8070 I kind of went a similar route, I started on a R6 but knew immediately that it had too much power for me as a beginner so I searched around and found out about the naked SV650 that I have now as a daily rider. Its a perfect street bike for me, has very smooth power, definitely not as much as my R6 but that’s okay with me, the seating position is a little better for me, it handles great around tight corners and I’m still able to pop it up in first second and even third 🤙🏽

    TC and Powermodes came in 2013. it has been the same bike 2013 to 18. 2019 is essentially the same bike with an updated look. The forks are Balance Free Forks and AFAIK the first Supersport to get them. The throttle still uses a cable. The fuel cut causes the jerkiness during throttle transitions and overall the fuel curve really needs a lot of work. Enjoy the bike.

      I can lean my ab/lower chest area on the rear of the tank, turn the heater grips on, and get 40+ mpg cruising at 80. My back doesn't hurt, neither do my wrists.
      We can argue about hondas or kawis being better "reliability" wise, but the bmw was the longevity bike for me.

      @@BEFORETHEMHYPEBEASTS Not knowing what bikes you have ridden before or your skill level, I would not recommend any of those 3 to a true beginner rider. With that said, for every day riding, commuting around town the ZX-6R is my obvious choice🙂 Much better torque when you need it and actually fairly comfortable for my length 181 cm👍 Always gripping the tank firmly with my legs I never have any problems with aching wrists, it all about technique. Have fun and ride safe!

    I had a 2013 ZX-6R and it still had the power mode and traction control electronics. I absolutely loved the styling on that generation as well. The 13-18 look so aggressive and dragon like. I feel like whoever designed the new and current 400, ZX-6R and ZX-10Rs took a huge step backwards. I did end up buying a 2021 ZX-6R after not having one for years and I still love it to death but man the front of it is just lacking. What I notice many RUclipsrs say, about naked being less comfortable on the highways it's a matter of getting used to. Do it on a nice long ride, and you're used to it. Ergonomically seen they're more comfortable also, and if you want some more wind protection you can add a windshield afcourse, for me not ridden highways yet, I can't imagine it being that "bad" people say it is. ZX6R sounds and runs good as it seems tho! Nice to see and hear more 4 cylinder love.

Sent the ECU out to Chris Moore (Moore mafia) added a Sprint race air filter and an Akra full system. Speigler stainless brake lines, and Galfer HH pads Whole 'nother bike. I'd highly recommend those specific mods. May not need the FULL system on your bike as the 19-current bike I believe has MORE restrictions in the stock pipe that a mid pipe wont solve, there is a honey comb structure in the collector section on the newer bikes, not sure if yours suffers from that.
