An all-powerful IG unit, better than most bounty hunters and more intelligent than most other aliens, imagine being able to control (practically) the entire Death Star, but your priorities are set on opening and closing the Emperors Throne Room doors over and over again just to troll him.

@@akumaking1 yeah but to literally screw with the sith emperor on a daily basis like he was being haunted without being able to sense a droid in the force. It's like kreia talked about how useless a force sensitive would be if they were to have it taken away, palps would have no clue what was going on and it would drive him crazy being the almighty sith lord who can't even get the door to stay open just for him. I mean hk is awesome an R2 sure but 88A had some robot balls on him.

I theorize that is why he suicided. Plot wise, if they had an IG unit, there would be very little that would be able to stand against that threat, let alone when paired with a mando, and shock trooper.
@@cluelesskhajiit Not necessarily. They got A LOT of heat and in space this pairing is much less useful (any one could be easily wounded in a space battle. Revan supposedly died from Malek ordering shots at his ship from another dreadnought according to KOTOR 1. Even one of my most powerful star wars characters to exist is vulnerable in space.

We do have to consider that the stormtrooper core became much less effective after the fall of the empire because most of the imperial warlords had to resort to general recruitment and limited training to just have enough troops to hold power

Just because US marines were shot at from 400+ metres away, doesn't mean they hit any shooters when they returned fire.
For the vast majority of the time US armed forces have been in Iraq and Afghanistan standard issue optics didn't lend the average marine the ability to see a stationary let alone a concealed target from 500+ metres away.
They were/ are trained to suppress targets that are hundreds of metres away without shooting the dirt well short of the general direction enemy fire is coming from. Until fire support destroys the hostiles, someone gets close enough or a better vantage to shoot them from, or the other guys run out of ammo.
U.S. forces sure are the most powerful around, but that doesn't mean all the foot soldiers from the US are deadly, elite marksmen that never miss. They do miss, they miss a lot more than storm troopers do in the movies.

@Mr. Lumiss Wasnt world war 1 or 2 like 25k bullets for every kill and nowadays its like 150k or so , Its alot easier to just spray an aera down from a somewhat safe place and wait for air support. .
The thing is, the entire fandom who don't know how stormtroopers actually are, just assume they are all bumbling baffoons, so that's what they get represented as. They aren't incompetent when faced up against odds not stacked insanely in the enemies favor due to the plot. I mean, they steamrolled the rebels even though the empire was caught in a chokepoint.

he is technically a cyborg and nothing like a droid. Droids are computers but an organic brain did all the information processing for grievous even if he was 95%ish machine.

I gotta say that the IGs are probably much more capable than the HKs. There are over 1000 years between the models and HK is much more humanoid than the IGs. The IGs seem far more flexible than the HKs as we see with IG-11 who spins his torso and arms around, have a 360 field of view etc

This was something I wanted an answer to for sure. Seemed a little unrealistic to me for a droid to wreck all those storm troopers. But I guess it wasn't quite as far fetched as I thought.
I have a question. Cuz we saw the doors of the Death Star opening in TROS, could that mean that IG88-?( I already forgot which letter he was) is still alive there, having existential crisis about how much he could have done, if he didn't just mess with Shiev and his doors. Idk, it may not just be some motion sensor that opened the door. Or I'm just overthinking this too. 😁😂

The IG units were friggen monsters. They were capable enough to give Jedi Knights one helluva fight, so my vote is a solid Yes, they are badass death machines.
I’d like to see an analysis of commando droid capabilities.
You completly forget that stormtroopers had granades as well and some of them were carying blasters that were deemed to be hand-wielded cannons. So no IG series would be great for ambush but in a fair fight it would go down against 2 squads at best. If the troopers would be armed with heavy weaponery IG would be death in a minute.
No sir, IG series were unbelievably lethal, they were quite agile as well as fairly well armored, if we go by rpg statistics an IG series routinely takes 20-40 stormtroopers out depending on his load out and the location of the battle, IG100 are even more impressive with a single one being able to dominate IG88
@@throne-gaming393 as I stated stormtrooper, or any trooper trained in frontline combat, is FAR deathlier in this respective type of combat then most people realise. IG was assasin droid and as such was great at assasination where stormtrooper would suck.
We never see the stormtroopers use their grenades....they always make dumb decision for the plot

2 stormtroopers no matter their class or load-outs have a habit of standing out in the open or rushing a target. plus they only ever really carry one weapon. they don't even have sidearms or knives usually.
now if these were clone troopers we were talking about that is a very big difference and in that regaurd, you would be completely right.
It's also worth noting how many weapons he *still* had. In a bounty hunting lifestyle supplies would drain and there is only so much anything can carry before agility is affected.
It only took Mando 1 headshot to take him out. Everyone in The Mandalorean made the original trilogy storm troopers seem like elite marksmen.

Piggy Blitz given the nature of the gun, I’d say it’s more akin to his helmet having to take the blaster equivalent of the deagle.
think of it this way the IG's armor is a lot like his armor. it can take a shit ton of damage but getting headshot from close range by a degal like weapon is still getting headshot by a degal like weapon. in other words armor doesn't matter no more that type of round at that range can probably even go through vescar, thus your dead.
I love how he states that the storm troopers are elite soldiers that are extremely deadly if not ordered to miss. Some people for some reason believe storm troopers are complete garbage and can't shot anything

In the expanded legends canon there is a variant of the droideka that was kind of a giant buzz droid. They were created be deployed and stealth onto enemy capital ships. Noise cancellation, slicing capabilities, active camo, shield genrators, a bit more armor, close combat weapons, and small jump packs they could leap from ship to ship. They were basically terror weapons designed to be the Alien. Randomly causing expensive destruction and leaving crew members dismembered to incite fear.
I imagine an IG unit fully decked out could reeeeeee his way through a smaller imperial base. Especially if he had good intel.
no their not clever enough (IG-88 excluded). their probably a great saboteur but they're definitely more of a killing type robot. if you want someone that can take out a base themself look at HK-47 in that regard.

Those weren’t IG-11s. Those were likely Lancer droids, a prototype of the IG series created for the confederacy.

When I heard about IG-88a opening and closing the doors to irritate Palpatine I got a mental image of Palpatine walking down a hallway and the door closing in his face with a bunch of paniced engineers trying to fix it before he executed them. Though it might have been funnier if he did it to Vader, imagine that short temper mixed with doors constantly closing in his face. Sidious would need to be concerned about Vader emptying the second Death Star.
The IG-series is the ultimate line of killing machines.

If the storm-troopers knew IG-11 was coming and were ready for it they could probably take it out with only light casualties. But they where surprised from the flank after they committed to a frontal assault on the bar it takes time to cohesively switch targets in the show they had maybe 2 minutes until IG-11 took cover in the bar, it was a reasonable outcome of a skilled blitz attack on a out of formation unit taken by surprise.
I think the safe answer is, aside from if they happen to have heavy weaponry (which isn't common, is: "All of them"
I think IG-11 has less armour than IG-88 as it has lighter frame.
Also, if Storm troopers were elite soldiers in canon they would be depicted as such. All the jabs at stormtrooper accuracy in canon, seems to imply that stormtroopers are civil suppression infantry, not elite soldiers...

Strangely the empire has infantry divisions that suck just as much if not more than stormtroopers. Like the one Han Solo ends up being a part of in the Solo movie. I do agree though stuff like the 501st legion or deathtroopers in general are much more elite units than your average stormtrooper.
If they’re “civil suppression infantry” they wouldn’t be deployed to attack the base on Hoth, or to any of the other battles they were deployed in. They were shown to be pretty effective in the original movies, it’s mainly Disney’s lack of understanding of Star Wars that makes them so incompetent in the Disney movies.

IG-88 would probably use a Z-6 rotary cannon along with the rest of his arsenal. This would give him an edge against multiple enemies in my opinion.

Droids could made in any you realistically want to. In the Clone Wars we saw several droids that we’re faster, stronger, and smarter when it comes to combat. It not surprising that the Galaxy was deadly afraid of Droids because of the Clone Wars lethality, that no doubt their manufacturer spread their knowledge to the Galaxy for profits. We as Humans have flaws that droids will no doubt use, we are slow to process information compared to them, we have a limited muscular strength compared to mechanical strength, and our reflex’s are slowed to a Droid sensors. The Stormtroopers were at disadvantage and no doubt their armor and their degradation of their training after the Galactic Civil War.
Considering How precise the stormtroopers really are probably a lot
So we have IG models, HK-50 models and the single units of HK-47, 0-0-0 and BT-1 as killer droids. Let's make a movie like suicide squad, er - meatbag killer squad (skynet likes this)

IG models (at least any of resemblance to IG-88) were all powerful agile killing machines with 360 vision and heavy armor. Possibly the most lethal assassin droids in the clone wars and galactic civil war time periods.

Don't ever compare Stormtroopers, who historically can't hit the broadside of a barn, with Marines. Marines can knock the little wings off Watto from across the Tatooine desert.

IG just needs atleast 10 soak as standard blasters only do 9 damage
then they'd only have to worry about ship grade blasters that do 15 damage, explosives and lightsabers which ignore soak
(all based on the Edge of The Empire tabletop RPG where my IG-87 has 11 soak and hardly anything can touch him)

Well, IG 11 did have a speeder bike and the stormtroopers were caught by surprise... IG 11 literally came from behind them, before they could even turn their guns towards it! I't should be also noted that the stormtroopers had no cover and they got caught in a crossfire between IG11 and Mando's crew

Not best equipped and definitely not the best shots either. There are many civilians who outshoot and out gear marines. But at least its mostly uniform in the corp.

I think Ig-11 can easily take down a bunch of unsuspecting stormtroopers with no problem but once those stormtroopers react ig-11 will struggle.
