Thought this would be a Super Mario Maker Troll Level DGR would play. Ended up being a Super Mario Maker Troll level that literally no one would play. Edit: Looking back, I like a lot of these trolls. A lot of them are pretty clever... it's just a lot of them aren't too. The invisible death planes are just stupid lmao.
I remember once being in a discussion on the discord about trolls in Celeste mods, arguing that there's no way a map with trolls as it's main focus could ever be good. Someone said they disagreed with that and sent me this. I was not very impressed to say the least, and that person turned out to be the creator.
This mod asks you to do ALOT of speed strats, in of the rooms it's asking you to do spike jumps, ultra dashes, wavedashes, and reversals. Technically you don't need assists to make it through, but it's hard as balls
It had some cool trolls like the 100% completion, whole screen covered with a wall or the guy in 3:45, or 10 badelines, but most of them were invisible stuff that isn't really trolling.
@@h2643 mario maker doesnt have additional programming and has incredible amounts of trolls. Btw it is more about predicting what the player will do than a fancy tech.
@@h2643 I know I am late, but: mirror temple zoomers, killer snowballs at the very ends of rooms, annoyingly long dialogues, zoomers in the same place as false stable ground, falling heart gates, platform softlocks in familiar-looking rooms, dying to spikes after collecting the chapter heart (8C-type) and dreamblock bumping could be much better replacement for invisible killzones.
5:12 I think you dash diagonal into the ground wait half a second then jump,you get your dash back and if you time the jump properly then you get momentum put of it too, essentially getting two dashes

We are talking super dashes, the tech just above wave dash aka what sans is talking about You regain your dash depending on the height you preformed the super dash too low and no dash back too high and no momentum Then again, 1 who cares 2 I probably got some info wrong 3 I’m pretty sure you need to super dash 4 there’s also hypers and ultras where I might of confused either with super

A hyper is the same, but you hold diagonally down, which gives you less height and more distance. An extended super/hyper is the same, but you stay on the ground long enough after the dash that you have your dash again when you jump. A wavedash is basically an extended hyper, but you jump and dash diagonally into the ground, rather than dash on the ground, so you can do it on even a single block rather than needing a run-up. For this part of the level you can do either an extended hyper or a wavedash.
5:04 It's called an extended Hyper Dash. You dash diagonally into the ground and if you jump during that you get extra distance. If you hold off jumping till the last possible second you'll get massive distance and still keep your dash.

If you jump, dash diagonally and jump off the ground - there's your wavedash, and regaining it is based on your initial starting height, not when you touch the ground, there's a cooldown.
8:32 is the only troll that actually kinda made me chuckle. It's just so simple. No custom entities, no tricks, it's just "you're falling but there's a hole in that jump through oops!" However the rest of the map demonstrates that the creator of this mod did NOT read defender's troll guide.
I like this one. People might complain about all the invisible spike walls but I like the use of respawn points and speedrunning/advanced techniques as puzzles. I especially liked the backwards room one. I'd love to see someone speedrun this. Not that I could do it. Not in a million years.
