{Celeste} Farewell Golden Strawberry + Moon Berry

I don't know the specific dates, but I started playing this back in July 2020 and I stopped playing it in December 2020 or January 2021. It felt extremely depressing to play this, especially after the top 100 Farewell goldens had been done. Not because I was competitive, but I felt very pressured to get the golden. I mean, people who had shorter grinds than me had gotten it during the time I was trying and I really can't say I wasn't jealous.
I've never touched this map again, except for the 2 years old April Fools' video. Until around 2 weeks ago, of course. I picked this up again to dream of uploading it for April Fools, and I actually got it.
This golden means a lot for me. It felt like it was silently haunting me ever since I stopped playing Celeste appropriately, considering I had injected multiple 10+ hour long sessions in it, had been that one person to get 19 post-DT deaths, had been that one golden I spent over 220 hours and had never gotten it. That being said, it took me around 20 more hours to actually finish it off.
I'm glad to have this done though. I don't know if you've ever felt this, but multiple times I have seen people saying that "x thing doesn't feel real", and I honestly had never experienced such a thing. Sure, similar things happened but I don't think any were to the degree of this. It all began when I passed my former golden PB during this run, RC-9, I stopped feeling nervous and just thought of it as another practice run. When I was done, I couldn't actually believe. It still hasn't clicked to me that I actually got it. Of course I'm still proud of this, but it doesn't feel something real at all. I think it has clicked, but I just can't believe the Luna FWG is not a meme anymore.
All of this being said, let me make something clear. This run was NOT any clean. Singular was horrible, I lost a key in Power Source, Remembered was fine except for the final screen heart section, Event Horizon was fine except for the 2 zipper screen, Determination was fine (except one thing I'll talk about), Stubborness was fine, Reconciliation was overall good except for RC-11 as a whole and for the ending that I went slower than usual, Farewell was ok. I'm still glad to have this done but the golden run could have been less convoluted.
Now, I'd like to just shout out 2 funnies, one that I didn't apply for this run and the other I did. The first is at Determination, during the screen transition to the screen before the core cycle room (DT-8 to DT-9), this was actually the first attempt that I skipped the ultraspeed hyper after having died there twice yesterday (I'm writing this in April 1st). The second is at the final screen, by 19:38. I originally saw this in the cheated Shiyu Farewell golden and I added it to my run as a remembrance of it.
Another thing is that I accidentally hit the DJMapHelper(?) bino key by 6:26. I asked Issy and it seems like it's fine. Even if it wasn't, I definitely wouldn't redo this.
Now, closing up, this was NOT a fun journey. After 20 post-DT deaths, way over 200 hours and almost 4 years, I couldn't just enjoy the experience. The break I took was good because it was fresh air, made me like some stuff again and rebalance my strats. However, Singular to Remembered is still a miserable segment and I don't want to ever touch it again.
Thank you everyone who stayed with me during this golden. Every OG player, everyone who watched my past streams, everyone who read until here. I could mention multiple names, but I'd definitely forget some and there are too many, so I'll be skipping the opportunity for now.
Also, aside from a few goldens I want to finish, I think I won't be doing many more. I especially want to map if anything.
Last thing, if you think any segment is harder than SG-RM, you are objectively wrong.

I've personnally just finished the entirety of the game, i just miss some golden berries and especially the farewell one that im gonna try to get

i wish you good luck with the golden berries but dont be that scared of fwg. everything considered, as long as you take the safe path and do good strats, it really wont be as bad as it seems (i say that having >257h on the map including switch over the course of 4 years, but i mean look at how i play)
that being said, it is still a pretty hard golden and its an incredible achievement. whenever you get to it tho, i honestly recommend going for the normal golden (no moonberry or keys), as runs are already hard compared to anything else in the game and long enough if youre consistent at the singular to determination segment

woa, congrats! i think standard fwg isnt any easier than fwg+mb, so youre basically the same as me
also, i got it 1 day before (at least in my timezone) and waited for 12pm gmt to upload, and afaik there were no other april 1st fwgs so consider yourself lucky
@@Luna125_ I mean yeah but also no. You did the harder thing and more rooms. Plus you used more speedrun tech. So it's harder than what I did with no moonberry. Maybe not super much harder like twice as hard but still defenetly harder.
I think as I was checking list some one did on April 1 once on 2020 or that was 2021?
Probably If I have to do the same thing as you as fast it would take me the same amount of practice time as you or even more!
Like I did this golden in 27:01 with no moon berry and keys.
My record with normal Farewell run is 24:00.

@@Dreamer-yo9wv honestly, people DID tell me my strats were stupidity and that they make the golden way harder but i dont really see that (and im too stubborn to change some of the strats), i got those strats from being bored in practice because the golden was too slow so theyre just kinda natural (and i dont even only do speedrunning strats, some memes are included like topleft key)
also, fw in 24m is pretty good honestly, ive been there before. it takes a lot of knowledge in the game to get there. if you slowly add some spice here and there im sure youll eventually get a sub 20 (that is basically my run without mb + keys + pause in rm if i did math right)

@@Luna125_ To be honest I don't think I'll be playing more Celeste. At least not much. I had enough of this game. I don't even know why I did Golden Strawberries. I still think they suck and are a stupid challenge. They made me hate this game and myself even more. Maybe I am just stubborn to prove something or idk. I'm kinda happy that I don't have to attempt this challenge ever again. It's just boring to play something that is easy but you have to replay after each small mistake it's really annoying
the funny part is technically I don't have 202 berries save file but I did all Goldens and every other challenge in vanila game. I was just deleting old save files when I got mad lol
And I still think Gberries Shouldn't exist in this game.

yes i agree with you, goldens are extremely annoying to have as collectibles, its quite the questionable game design
fwg is probably my most miserable grind, didnt feel fun at all especially since i didnt feel like i was progressing at all in the second half of the grind, dying late just got me all the way back to the start, and there i was stuck for a long time again (not to mention i died after dt 20 times, even if eh-end is the easiest segment for me). not to mention this fucking map is 20m long which is just painful and nothing else. other maps fall into the same thing, but no other vanilla golden is just as straight up BAD as this one imo. i really dont know how ppl enjoy goldens or stuff as hundo (100%) deathless. even if i have the feeling of accomplishment after the run, i dont think my time was worth that at all
personally ill prob still play celeste but ill only be mapping and clearing maps casually pretty much, other than a golden here and there whenever i kinda have fun with it, at least in maps id want to deathless nonetheless
fwg burnt me out in so many ways its crazy lol the only reason i even decided to wrap it up is because i wanted to truly 100% the game, absolutely trash

eu peguei um dia antes de vc, comecei a jogar celeste em 2021 e peguei todas as conquistas no mesmo ano, em 2022 eu decidi criar um novo save e rejogar o jogo de novo soq com uma coisa a mais, pegar os morangos dourados. Consegui pegar uns 194 ou 195 e dps parei. Em 2023 comecei de novo, soq dessa vez, peguei todos! Estou com 201 e-... Ah. Falta AQUELE morango. E então, depois de 1 ano enrolando eu fiz fwg 🙏
