    There are thousands of different knots and modifications. I say use what works for you and doesn't break. Pick one and use it. Brent thanks for the info on this knot as well. Good luck in your career.

    yes the FG knot is the best knot for floro to braid because you are not doubling the floro line it is simply the braid rapped around the floro the knots that double the floro will not go through your guides and get caught up on them. Which can ruin a good time fishing quickly. Tested myself on the FG knot out the other day and i could tie it ptretty quickly. But also a very strong knot and the best one for this application.

    I use an ALBERTO knot 100%. Have NEVER had a knot failure. NOT EVEN ONCE.
    And guess what.......... 5 times up and 5 times down. Anything more IS overkill. The key is simply to make sure its tight.
    NO TAG END NEEDED & ROCKETS THROUGH THE GUIDES

      Agreed 100%. Simple, easy, very clean. Long as its done correctly, will never break.

    Its an Alberto. Modified only slightly. Best knot I’ve ever seen(braid to Fluoro) is an FG. ALL other line to line knots break. FG doesn’t if tied correctly.

    I leave about half an inch of tag end with the fg knot and singe them with a lighter. Clean knot.

    Looking for an honest unbiased opinion on the sx1 vs. Power pro and spiderwire. Been having issues with power pro and spiderwire this last season. Used them for 15+ years. Can't afford the gamble. Any thoughts on sx1? I use sunline fluoro and am hoping the braid is as good of quality as the fluoro

    Aaron and Jeff Kriet should watch Rad Reeling Fishing for a much faster and easier way to tie the FG Knot.

    First knot is an Alberto. 2nd knot is an FG but takes way too long when you're just trying to fish. Use the Alberto

    • @markrigg6623
      @markrigg6623 4 года назад

      Theres faster ways to tie the FG. I can do it in 90 seconds after a little bit of practice at home. Alberto knot isnt very slim if your using heavy enough leader so there are advantagesto the FG.

    I have been using Alberto, but I know FG is stronger, and thinner, and Aaron said he watched Jeff Kreit and RUclips , and I bet he watch
    Salt Strong because I have, and they are the same method, I am gonna need more practice, since I am not as agile in my old age😜😂 and I also find it difficult to see my 8lb Sunline Sniper 😂😂😂🤷🏻‍♂️😳😎

    That's basically an Albright knot only tied correctly the braid would go back through the same way it came in.
    Why you have to steal someone else's knot and give it a shitty name and claim it as your own ?

      These guys are some of the best finesse fishermen in the world. We're going to take tips and run with them for several reasons: easier to manage your line on the reel, better sensitivity all around, and simply put these guys got game. We do appreciate taking the time to make your comment and wish you the best of luck on the water!

      I just started using a Ned rig last year and hadn't ever done a line to line knot. So I learned the Alberto knot, set up one spinning combo braid-fluoro, and another straight fluorocarbon 6lb. As the summer went on I found myself relying on the braid-fluoro combo more and more once I discovered that I rarely felt a bite, but rather saw the line move. The visibility and easier casting of the braid pretty much sealed the deal for me. I've only had trouble with the knot catching when the temp was 25° last fall. Tight lines all!

    • @roggiedale
      @roggiedale 5 лет назад

      I'm Old School and resist change. The fact stands I've changed due to braid to fluorocarbon for sensitivity is amazing. Use straight braid in muddy water. Finesse fishing in stain and clear water this line set up is truly a game changer and you will catch more fish. We only use this on spinning gear for best results.

      @@johne4220 try straight fluoro Berkeley varnish transition. You can see and feel pretty good, I like it a lot but it does wear out faster than some other fluoro from what I know.
