I was impressed by how Wicked Lasers managed to squeeze electronics, scanners, batteries, heat sinks and 1 watt of lasers into a 10 cm cube in the LaserCube.
Now, they say there is 2 watts of lasers in the new version?!?
I will test the new version and have a look inside it. I will also open the 2 watt LaserDock with its 40K galvo system for comparison.

I bet the studio smells wonderful after a burning/filming session.
Hehe, the studio smelled like always - mostly neutral ;) Good ventilation is a must when burning plastics. Thanks for watching!
I loved that demonic laughter after popping the balloons. Just great.
Thanks, I guess x) Experiencing such a power display in real life just tickles something primal inside...
Good.
Twice the power, double the eye damage.
Not if used correctly ;) Thanks for watching!
Less than a watt is more than enough to instantly and permanently blind someone. They will also ruin your cameras so use old ones you don't care about. I am not sure if some of the people who buy those laser pointers know how dangerous they really are. The beams are dangerous for at least 10 miles.
@@charleshines6155 0.005W can damage eyes.
@@matthewpiper4328 no it can't. Up to 5mw the blink reflex is fast enough to close the eye before damage
@@peterzingler6221 hold your eye open and look into the laser for 30 mins and let me know if you can see.
at least you're not sponsored by RAID shadow legends
I definitely want one!
Yup, I want one, went to their website and the 2watts one starts at 1k€, even the 1watt is 700€. But, quality costs. Sadly, the quality in this case costs more than I'm able to currently pay...
Who doesn’t
@@AssassinAgentDude, I so badly want to get one but I can’t so I might just say: “Eh, **honk** it, I’ll just make my own LaserCube”.
Subscribed for the magnets, stayed for the lasers.
Subscribed for the magnets. Stayed for the magnets, and lasers, and ferrofluid, and rocks, and resuscitating/killing moss.
Oh man, a radio shack sound level meter. That brings back memories.
$999 base price, for those interested.
Thanks, I'm glad it only costs as much as a monitor stand from a mainstream computer manufacturer.
me: Wow, this is neat!
also me:
only NEINHUNDRED NEINTY NEIN
Not bad for what your getting
Nope.. that's the first one. the 2-watt version is $1299 on their site.
I love the atmosphere your videos have. :)
Thanks James. I guess my channel is more relaxed and calm than the usual, high-energetic RUclips-channels. But I guess my personality shines through in my editing style and music choice :)
Your videos always brighten my day, I hope one day you’ll be able to post more often. For now, thank you for all you do!
Your army of patrons seems to only continue growing, glad to see it Brian. Good video!
I have a laserdock. Amazing machine
As always, excellent work!
Fed video!
Jeg fandt først kanalen for nogle måneder sider.
'En af de første videoer var med dine monster magneter og nu er jeg hooked på dit content!
Very neat. Those effects are beautiful.
I love how you said "wizardry"...
That has to be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen I grew up in Washington and Oregon I used to take trips everywhere and used to go to the grand coulee dam to watch their laser light shows that is literally like watching a laser light show inside your house holy the parties you could throw 😂
The laser cube sounds wicked
1:24 You certainly are a big fan of fan puns!
Man, wicked lasers. Very wicked indeed, nice video!
Thank you! Yep, you have to be a little wicked to even consider putting this much laser power in a 10 cm battery powered cube x)
Wow they're cool! If I had one I'd be afraid I'd burn my eye out XD
That radio shack decibel meter is really old... I have one like that one I bought it 25 years ago. Still working fine.
Lasers! Epic!
Yep, show lasers are amazing inventions. Beautiful to watch too :)
Seeing those lasers combine to form such a brilliant white was the most impressive thing to me. :D
Once again great content.
Thank you very much!
very cool that you have a program for a laser cannon.
Hehe, it is surprisingly satisfying to point out the balloons (with laser precision) and then let a program pop several balloons within a second. Noisy too in real life!
I wonder how many balloons I can get in a single run... Thanks for watching!
Nice video boss. Good pure RUclips content.
Thank you very much, Dan G. More to come!
Thanks for Nice Video. Good Luck
If you don't like the noise of the fan you can just disconnect it and hook an external fan duct up to the device and have an as large fan as you'd like.
Of course this will increase the overall size of the device. You can't have and eat the cake at the same time.
Why is a 2 watt laser so impressive when for an example a 3cmx3cm CPU draws up to 200 watts? Why does it take so much cooling to produce such a low watt laser?
The two watt is optical power - not electrical power. Two watts of optical power in a 4 mm wide beam is a lot! Any laser above 0.005 watt of optical power is considered an eye-hazard, and the highest laser safety class starts at 0.5 watt. Thanks for watching!
I am a simple man, see a brainiac video, like a brainiac video
7:32 is amazing.
Brass heatsinks? Why would brass be any good? Is something preventing them from using aluminium or copper?
You missed the chance to say "I'm not a big fan of the small fan."
I want one so badly
7:52 It's High Noon
Probably already been posted. But pop and burn are still there, you just gotta enable them in the options.
Wow it looks awesome
2:08 Hhahah twist the key to turn it on. Like a reactor
The popping of the Bloons reminded me of those freeze time killing things from games like Hitman: Absolution and RDR.

Best use of RGB laser on the internet this decade.

Thank you very much!
can this run 24/7? i was thinking about projecting it somewhere in my cafe.
This is pretty cool, but what's the utility other than burning plastic in a fancy way?
Can you try the 7.5 Watt LaseCube ?
Love the videos, but you have a Radio Shack????? near ?? :) hehe
I kinda want a 200 watts version now think on the POWER
Hehe, 30 watt white light show lasers are available (but don't ask about the price). I believe LaserWorld offer up to a 400 watt beam show, but with only a green beam. Thanks for watching!
@@brainiac75 400 Watts?! The damn laser engraver at work puts out "only" 75 and that alone can do some serious carnage. Wonder what 400W will do. Imagine the power draw and cooling...
@@DrakkarCalethiel ...........I AM AND I STILL WANT IT!!!
Get an "energy reformatter" . An energy reformatter is a device that can convert any type of energy in any other type of energy without loss. Using this, you can build extremely strong lasers:
1) Set the reformatter to a mode where it converts thermal energy in coherent optical energy.
2) Put it directly on top of a threadripper.
3) Start any program for a laser beam with up to 700W!
Minecraft works very well to create high power laser beams with this setup.
This laser display actually draws not too differently from the way a CRT draws an image, it can't draw a true still image, but it can trick you into seeing a still image by refreshing it dozens of times a second, possibly up to 60 or 80 hertz. This is actually how a CRT draws a still image, and that's actually why the display appears to flicker, is because the one image isn't actually constantly on, but is actually being redrawn again and again anywhere from 30 times a second on low end TVs, up to like 144 times per second on high end gaming CRTs.
For anyone wondering, no they don’t sell in USA because these are way over regulation standard which is 5 milliwatt laser reg
Is there a hard limit to the number of lines or shapes it can display? For example, if I wanted to do projection mapping on a building, how many lines could I draw?
Depends on the deflection angle. The smaller the angle, the more points you can hit.
I feel like this thing needs a couple motors and a targeting program... Make this thing into an auto turret for home defense.
It would be great as an anti-robbery/criminal deterrent for a store.
Imagine Portal turret with lasers instead of bullets!
Nice
Does anybody know how much power it draws from the power supply? Maybe he said it in one of the videos, but I missed it.
I got the nano from wicked lasers it's awesome I wanted one of the more powerful ones but they don't ship them to the U.S.
Change the fan by some high-end PC fan like a Noctua. People do this for home server gear to good effect.
Ahhh i managed to watch 5 minutes but i have a competition with my pony tomorrow and I need to prep, so I'll finish watching later! Lokks awesome so far!
Good luck in the competition!!
@@TheOnlyDamien thank you!
I finished the video now! I love the balloon popping, but i have to admit that even with your explanations I have no idea how the laser cubes work XD it's still fascinating to watch, i just think I'm a bit behind on engineering there - I guess that's the next subject I'll have to read up on, once I finish the books i bought on physics and find some books on biology and genetics to read
how much time would it take for any of these to burn through a mirror?
oof, when talking about lasers the watt numbers sound way smaller than other things, like a CPU often has a TDP of 60-90 watts on desktop
Now that there is massive hype for viruses, will *"biohazard"* tab be covered ?
Any update on the new fan?
What's next? Lightsabers...
Awesome video! I'm curious if you've heard that American currency is magnetic? No, I'm not joking, the ink that's used in specific locations is magnetic. I'd love to see a video of you testing properties of different denominations.
I thought it was just the strip in the bills That is magnetic? So they can tell when someone is carrying lots of bills as it takes a certain amount before it can be detected as magnetic?
I JUST NEED TO GET MY BERING STRAIT
Would love to experiments with lasers for growing plants, but that's way ahead of my budget. Maybe you would like to set it up? I'm so curios. For me it is hidden behind a paywall.
Is it christmas already?
I tried World of Warships a while ago.
It was fun at first, but I quickly got to the point where it felt like nothing I did made a difference; either my team got steamrolled no matter what I did, or my team won handily without me getting a chance to do anything useful.
Plus it quickly became a grind to get new ships, and I sure wasn't going to be doing microtransactions. Felt pay-to-win as well, because of that. Quite a disappiontment.
According to Shigeru Miyamoto, creator of Mario, a good game is forever good, while a bad game is forever bad.
Wonder how many watts for military-grade laser beam..
Hello there, I have a small laser display system, from Big Dipper, model k100, it’s a 20 mw green laser, nothing impressive but it’s a good effect, having an issue with the green laser, as it scans a clean green line, the laser seems to be flickering a lot, not all the time, which is why I can tell the difference of when it is flickering and when it’s not, what is causing this? Temp does not seem to be the factor, ass I have tested it with the unit both warm and cold, when cold the laser starts dimmer but doesn’t flicker, when the unit is warm same thing no flicker, but it flickers for a while randomly, also it’s driver board does not have any power adjustment knob. I am having to return the unit which will take forever, but I was just wondering if you had any ideas on how to maybe solve the issue without me having to go through the trouble. Thanks again great channel, I am subscribing, love the content and information
It's really dumb that they removed the pop feature, it looks so fun!
It is a lot of fun indeed! However, I can understand why they did it for safety reasons. With a 2 watt laser, a steady beam for up to 6 seconds is serious business. But as mentioned in the video, it is still in the LaserOS. You just need to unlock it... Thanks for watching!
@@brainiac75 Yeah, it's understandable. Good that there's still a way to get it
Very easy to unlock it. Look in the RUclips safety video description... Tells you what to do...
@@EricPenn1147 What video exactly?
@@readmore8974 ruclips.net/video/EnKxKmaJvfY/видео.html
Wow
is there a link to purchase this?
i dont think it should be able to burn through plastic without any IR so either the IR filter is not perfect or there is no IR filter. as i have no experience with lasers of that power i do not know.
Specs on the website say 14,000 mAH battery. Yet when you open it up it is clearly labeled 3,500 mAH. It appears to just be 2X 18650 batteries in series. There is no possible way it cold be 14,000 mAH.
Bruh after seeing styropyro I feel like this is not disappointing but you know, not the same
2:00 Brian, Brain or Autocorrect?
here ya go buddy . have the original dock and love it . dig your videos . cheers yo . #funwithbrainlesions --- To unlock 'pop' and 'burn' functionality. Goto Settings, Debug, and type in 'laserizor'
So the lasers are safe if they keep moving ?
I wonder what the output is with a proper IR cut filter. If you have to go with DPSS modules, I prefer 473nm...or use argon ion and krypton ion lasers.
These are all direct diode lasers and do not output any IR at all. An IR cut filter would be nothing but a waste of power.
@@plemli -- I tend to use 473nm, 532nm and 671nm. Those are all diode pumped lasers.
@@pmgodfrey good for you, but I meant that this LaserCube device likely has 445, 520 and 630/650nm, all of which are direct diode lasers that do not emit any IR except as incoherent longwave heat.
Hi! there, where can I buy this Lasercube Version 2?
Balloons were absolutely harmed in the making of this video
Alright another video
How long will the laser last?
Cool laser. My question is can I shine it in my neighbor’s window to annoy them? Lol jk
Hi, can you confirm that the "silent fan" is indeed silent? thanks
wow
nørdet som altid
how far away can you pop a balloon with it?
Has it increased in price, recall i looked at the 1w a year back when it was released and wasnt it around 500USD, and here years later and obviously more dated it says 700USD ?? and the 2w is starting at +1000 USD and coming from Denmark. and you have to eat siginificant techtax, - tax handling fee and then another +25% VAT of the final full amount... I would be supprised if your then closer to 1500 to 1700USD.
No dice wicked lasers but it is wicked' no doubt, - and it would look freaking awesome in our air-videos for Copenhagen Music at high altitudes..
So, is there anything I can "safely" use for some beamshows in fog? 20 years back they displaysed beamshows here in the mall, not caring that the upper deck was fully inside the laser-animation....
Professional laser show systems widen the beam. They also have lockouts and safety shutters that stop the beam if the galvos don't move or don't move fast enough - i.e. when the beam's energy stays in the same area for too long. Toys like the device mentioned in the video don't have such mechanisms, so if someone were to use them for a laser show and someone were to get hurt, the owner of the device would be sued to oblivion.
Predator weapon
2 watts can do that wow! Why do our phone screens use so much power
What Power of laser would you need to separate air hydrogen and oxygen.
If you had enough lasers in an array driving a turbine the same as a jet engine you could power a plane
Hi, I've been looking for a "show laser" that is safe to shine on people. Do you know how is it called?
