    I was impressed by how Wicked Lasers managed to squeeze electronics, scanners, batteries, heat sinks and 1 watt of lasers into a 10 cm cube in the LaserCube.
    Now, they say there is 2 watts of lasers in the new version?!?
    I will test the new version and have a look inside it. I will also open the 2 watt LaserDock with its 40K galvo system for comparison.

      Less than a watt is more than enough to instantly and permanently blind someone. They will also ruin your cameras so use old ones you don't care about. I am not sure if some of the people who buy those laser pointers know how dangerous they really are. The beams are dangerous for at least 10 miles.

    If you don't like the noise of the fan you can just disconnect it and hook an external fan duct up to the device and have an as large fan as you'd like.
    Of course this will increase the overall size of the device. You can't have and eat the cake at the same time.

    Why is a 2 watt laser so impressive when for an example a 3cmx3cm CPU draws up to 200 watts? Why does it take so much cooling to produce such a low watt laser?

    • @brainiac75
      @brainiac75  4 года назад +16

      The two watt is optical power - not electrical power. Two watts of optical power in a 4 mm wide beam is a lot! Any laser above 0.005 watt of optical power is considered an eye-hazard, and the highest laser safety class starts at 0.5 watt. Thanks for watching!

      Get an "energy reformatter" . An energy reformatter is a device that can convert any type of energy in any other type of energy without loss. Using this, you can build extremely strong lasers:
      1) Set the reformatter to a mode where it converts thermal energy in coherent optical energy.
      2) Put it directly on top of a threadripper.
      3) Start any program for a laser beam with up to 700W!
      Minecraft works very well to create high power laser beams with this setup.

    This laser display actually draws not too differently from the way a CRT draws an image, it can't draw a true still image, but it can trick you into seeing a still image by refreshing it dozens of times a second, possibly up to 60 or 80 hertz. This is actually how a CRT draws a still image, and that's actually why the display appears to flicker, is because the one image isn't actually constantly on, but is actually being redrawn again and again anywhere from 30 times a second on low end TVs, up to like 144 times per second on high end gaming CRTs.

    Hello there, I have a small laser display system, from Big Dipper, model k100, it’s a 20 mw green laser, nothing impressive but it’s a good effect, having an issue with the green laser, as it scans a clean green line, the laser seems to be flickering a lot, not all the time, which is why I can tell the difference of when it is flickering and when it’s not, what is causing this? Temp does not seem to be the factor, ass I have tested it with the unit both warm and cold, when cold the laser starts dimmer but doesn’t flicker, when the unit is warm same thing no flicker, but it flickers for a while randomly, also it’s driver board does not have any power adjustment knob. I am having to return the unit which will take forever, but I was just wondering if you had any ideas on how to maybe solve the issue without me having to go through the trouble. Thanks again great channel, I am subscribing, love the content and information

    So the lasers are safe if they keep moving ?

  • @pmgodfrey
    @pmgodfrey 4 года назад

    I wonder what the output is with a proper IR cut filter. If you have to go with DPSS modules, I prefer 473nm...or use argon ion and krypton ion lasers.

    • @plemli
      @plemli 4 года назад

      These are all direct diode lasers and do not output any IR at all. An IR cut filter would be nothing but a waste of power.

    • @pmgodfrey
      @pmgodfrey 4 года назад

      @@plemli -- I tend to use 473nm, 532nm and 671nm. Those are all diode pumped lasers.

      @@pmgodfrey good for you, but I meant that this LaserCube device likely has 445, 520 and 630/650nm, all of which are direct diode lasers that do not emit any IR except as incoherent longwave heat.

    Has it increased in price, recall i looked at the 1w a year back when it was released and wasnt it around 500USD, and here years later and obviously more dated it says 700USD ?? and the 2w is starting at +1000 USD and coming from Denmark. and you have to eat siginificant techtax, - tax handling fee and then another +25% VAT of the final full amount... I would be supprised if your then closer to 1500 to 1700USD.
    No dice wicked lasers but it is wicked' no doubt, - and it would look freaking awesome in our air-videos for Copenhagen Music at high altitudes..

    So, is there anything I can "safely" use for some beamshows in fog? 20 years back they displaysed beamshows here in the mall, not caring that the upper deck was fully inside the laser-animation....

    • @adev8565
      @adev8565 3 года назад +1

      Professional laser show systems widen the beam. They also have lockouts and safety shutters that stop the beam if the galvos don't move or don't move fast enough - i.e. when the beam's energy stays in the same area for too long. Toys like the device mentioned in the video don't have such mechanisms, so if someone were to use them for a laser show and someone were to get hurt, the owner of the device would be sued to oblivion.

    What Power of laser would you need to separate air hydrogen and oxygen.
    If you had enough lasers in an array driving a turbine the same as a jet engine you could power a plane
