Aw, thanks! People seem to enjoy picking on a me as a cancer survivor who shares her hair regrowth journey (these videos are free to watch, as well). Not everyone can be kind, I suppose! I've removed the really abusive ones, no one should have to read that.
So glad to have found you and your super-helpful vlogs. My hair is pretty much like your "3 months ago" photo and has been for a while. I've decided against Regaine (I'm UK) because I'm regularly around animals and I'd just be too scared. That's disappointing but I'm working my way through your other videos and you're giving me hope that I might be able to improve matters. And I know now that it's likely to be a long process, and lots of trial and error. You're very generous with your time and insights, so thank you 🙏
What do you mean around animals can you explain ? Is that the same as minoxidil ?
I have four cats and use minoxidil regularly. I was my hands and face after each application. None of my animals have been affected whatsoever.
Hi I'm 57 and have been on vivascale for about 3-4 years. I mainly take it to stop the shedding in the fall I usually get Sept -Nov, I usually take one a day and and up it to 2 per day in June and I really do notice a LOT less shedding. When you get older it's all about maintaining what we have....were not getting any younger. Also. Biotin makes me break out too. But I have never had an issue with breakouts when taking vivascale...another reason I am sticking to it.😊
Biotin requires a lot of water to drink as it's hydrophilic (loves/needs water). Take your body weight (in pounds), divide it by 2. That answer is the how many ounces of water a day to drink. Also, skin, hair, and nails are the last organs that your body delivers minerals and vitamins. Increasing water intake ensures those organs receive the biotin. Acne, headaches, and sometimes dizziness are attributed to your body not having sufficient water while taking biotin.

I use coconut oil l also add four drops of lavender oil into the coconut oil bottle, l don’t use any conditioner, it made my hair fall while rinsing.
I find my hair is so shiny, manageable and soft , l don’t dye my hair at all
Also shampoo is Nuetregena .
I shampoo twice a week , water is not too warm as cold as l can take.
Since I’ve been using cool water l don’t loose hair at all.
Also using cool or slightly warm water doesn’t make scalp oily, because using hot water opens the pores causing oily scalp.
I buy the coconut oil at the dollar store it’s a small bottle but a little bottle has gone a long way , l guess any brand will do.

You and I have the same personality of being very detailed when we talk, so I've never minded it. And I whole heartedly understand you leaving this platform. I left Facebook for probably some of the same reasons. This life is too precious Helen..especially when you have been through traumas like cancer. A thing that shakes things up and turns everything upside down for you forever and gives you a whole new perspective. I have experienced several miscarriages and many other losses that have changed my life forever. You learn to create boundaries. In my 38 years of life I'm so thankful I am learning those key things. Which kind of hairloss are you suffering? This is crucial to hope and efficiency for hair regrowth. Not sure that much things can be done for scarring, areata or androgenetic alopecia. Effluvium telogen maybe. Good luck anyways to deal with this debilitating condition
My dermatologist recommended viviscal to me years ago. I couldn't afford it at the time so I don't use it.
He did make it VERY clear, if you stop taking it... Your hair will shed and the growth process will stop. Much like if you stopped using minoxodil. It's not permanent.

I stopped taking Viviscal after realizing that there is too much iron in it (for me) and I read that the Marine Complex raises blood calcium.

I have significant temple hair growth with minoxidil. Works great.
Too much biotin can also lower blood pressure and blood sugar too much sometimes. Honestly the thing that has worked best for me (along with supplements) has been getting back on the pill. The combined (progestin/estradiol) pill causes the hair to stay in anagen phase longer because of the estrogenic effects. This increases even more with progestins like desogestrel that are more estrogenic rather than androgenic (levonorgestrel). I think the same effects would be seen with bioidentical HRT. Hormones control so much of what goes on in our bodies.
I have been on Viviscal about 3 months and recently just started noticing a difference. My hair, that's colored, actually feels like hair and not straw anymore. My hair is long so it's pretty now when it formed natural curls at the end or slightly wavy, like the hair you have when your a kid. Before, my hair was so lifeless, it was long and just hung down my back. I'm at pill and half now. I take it along with my regular vitamins, cause Viviscal doesn't have all the vitamins that regular ones do. Well yeah, I get a little ill and in the bathroom more frequent. I recommend you dont take more than one pill if you got to be at work or somewhere, 😅😅. Oh, and you gotta shave a lot more and I'm cutting my nails more often, they grow fast. But, I've noticed my eyelashes are falling out, not a whole lot, but I'm seeing it. But I thought that the hair on our head goes through a shedding cycle and I thought eyelashes do too. But the question I have is do I keep taking Viviscal every month or am I supposed to take breaks and stop every so often? I seen online that they say Viviscal works better if you take breaks in between. And the best price for the product I found was at Walmart for 29.00 dollars. It was 32.00, price dropped. Walgreens and Meijer it's like 50.00.

Viviscal vitamins don't seem to work for me after 6 months.
Why stop it if it was working?

I got the breakout when I started. I have a few scars! I decided a multivitamin is much safer! Too much biotin. I use nutri ox. No adverse side effects. First wash and my hair was plump!

I'm starting my 3rd box of Viviscal today and still using Men's Rogaine once a day in the morning.
Wow, I have been getting compliments on my hair for 2 weeks now! I'm using TOPPIK very sparingly on my part and NO hair extensions. I am able to actually tease and fluff my hair then use hair spray . Oh my gosh, these two products combined are a game changer for sure!
I see dermatologist in April. I must say that I have a concern about using Rogaine long term...
What do you think about any of the other drops for Women?
Jennifer Lopez is promoting one and I think it's Keranique or Kerastat that has drops...
I do keep in mind that you are using Men's Rogaine sparingly these days which is a great idea and is what I will do, maybe after I see my doctor 😉.

I stopped taking Viviscal vitamins, I felt they weren't doing anything for me! I took 3 boxes and one box of Viviscal Pro 42.00 the next box was 45.00 so I decided at this price I was not happy with results plus Mercury levels are a concern. MarineMar Collagen, Shark Cartlidge Oyster extract powder.

Guess what happened, I'm devstated! I was still with my regime and on March-25th I could see my scalp again and my new hair literally fell out ALL OF IT FELL OUT! I don't know what happened dermatologist did a scalp biopsy results back, female pattern baldness And te stress induced wondering if Covid caused my body this condition!

Viviscal really works like amazingly fast but mainly notice after the 3 months I used it for a year and after so long my scalp had build up on it unfortunately so I stopped using it but other than that that’s it it works great it does grow back thicker and faster !

My hair was constantly shedding before Viviscal but after my 3rd package of it, it stopped. Viviscal has been a miracle for me. My hair was so lifeless and I tried every thing out there. Omega 3 also helps
