    Hey Daz, great addition to Lock Noob's video. I'm a noob myself but did notice a big difference in feedback when tensioning from a non tensioning disc. I was able to open the few dd locks i have though. In my case swap front to back disc tension like lpl demonstrates often, before setting disc one. Seems to me pushing the sidebar out one way often still pushes it in slightly on the other side, but i dont have a working transparent or cutaway to verify that. Thanks Daz 👍

    Thanks again for the tip it got me to open my first disc lock the other day but I can only open it once out of every 15 or 20 tries my zero cut I believe is on the third disc and the last three or four I can feel and hear the click the first couple discs is mushy no click so I think that's the only reason it's taking me so many tries is I'm just getting lucky on the first couple discs is it because I'm doing this in the wrong order I'm going linear backward to forward I'm wondering if maybe I should start somewhere like second disc and then first disc or maybe third second and first and maybe then I can get clicks on all of them?

    Very well explained Daz. Very clear information. Am I right in thinking that if you haven't seen the key to know which is the zero cut disk, it's the one that doesn't click when you fully turn it counter clockwise? Then you would just rotate it back fully clockwise?

    Daz, is the one you’ve just picked, the same as the identical looking Kryptolock Series 2? Gonna try to make my first DD pick from scratch. Will make the tips on the the milling machine and use some thumb wheels from my stainless 1” 2in1 components. Do you know what the maximum tip thickness needs to be to clear each disc?

    • @dazevers
      @dazevers  3 года назад +1

      The Abus & kryptonite are similar apart from the Abus disc locks generally have false gates, the Kryptonite disc locks generally have slightly thinner discs. Some of the kryptolock cores have a small secondary lever/disc at the bottom of the lock that needs to be moved first. Apart from that the tools require are identical. The picking tips i make are 0.3mm but you can go up to 0.5mm , that’s same as the Sparrows DD pick
      Did you see my video on how i made my disc detainer pick. Here’s a link. ruclips.net/video/PbAhCvIrFCk/видео.html Any other questions just ask. 👍

    Amazing info here thanks a lot !! so when tensioning from a butterfly disc, is it better to use heavy tension or light tension ? I can use this counter rotation technic well on a chinese lock that has a core quite similar to the Kryptonite lock. However, on my Abus 88/40 I seem to have no feedback at all. Maybe it's because of those butterfly disks. Any clue ? What am i doing wrong here ? Thanks man

    • @dazevers
      @dazevers  4 года назад +1

      Hi mate, believe me you are doing nothing wrong, they are pretty tricky locks to pick, the feedback is very subtle until you have all the disc’s in a gate, weather it be false or true. As for the tension you just need a moderate tension.
      I’ve just brought another Abus plus lock the Abus 89/40, so when it arrives I will do another in-depth video on it, to try & cover all aspects of picking them. I’ll also use the sparrows DD pick.🤞
      Have a great weekend.
