"Hello folks, this is your captain speaking, you need to buckle your seat belts as the other plane challenged us to a race and shit is about to get real."
I live in the bay area. Aviation is one of my hobbies, so about 10 years ago I was listening to the SFO tower controller. He advised one of the aircraft on approach “DO NOT pass that airbus on your right!” 😆
I've been flying in and out of SFO my whole life, & I think this is relatively recent based off of some runway repairs? Flying back from Iceland, jet lagged, I saw plane landing next to us and freaked out with giddy, panicked joy. What an odd experience. Thanks for recording.
Michael Hraba--It happens at DFW all the time. The first time you see it, it's a bit unnerving. After that, it's like a synchronized ballet on two parallel stages.
This is one great video...both American Airlines touching the ground together...yet when they were still over the water they looked so close together it was kind of scary. Thanks for sharing this amazing video and by the way SFO is my favorite airport since I live very close to it.
It freaks me out sometimes sitting in the right seat of the cockpit landing on 28L, looking at the 28R traffic. I often wonder if it freaks out the passengers in the back. It’s really close.
For those of you who think the video is fake. Near the end of the video, you can see the grooves on the runway. No FSX or P3D scenery has that feature.
US Airways. The plane is a US Airways plane that has been painted in the American livery since they merged, but at the time of this video it would have still been US Airways with a cactus callsign.
+acefitt You know American Airlines was a company before the merge, right? It could've operated on either US Airways or American Airlines flight number/call sign.
They are always staggered a little with the plane landing on 28R behind. It is called Precision Runway Simultaneous Offset Instrument Approach. If the plane on the right overtakes the plane on the left, depending if the plane landing on 28R is a heavy or super, the plane landing on 28L peels off for a go around. I have landed there many times and always love to watch this happen. Pretty amazing since there is only 750ft of separation.
Two kinds of "parallel" landing. PRM and SOIA, depending on how close both runways are to each other. Both of which are very complex to when one plane deviates to closer to the middle, the other plane has to go around.

I feel like there was a commercial with this exact thing in it but I don't remember where or when I saw it
+supportourtroops1 it was a vine or something
Ethan Greene blog it
Haha 😂
"YOU take that runway, I'LL take this runway."
Rush-Plane 3
Rated R
In theaters August 13th
One plane could've come from sunol while the other woodside radial.
"And if you look to your right, you're about to witness some very neat shit."
+mindlessgonzo What are you talking about?
+maria cornwallis Lol HAHAH
"Everyone instantly throw them self over to the right side and the plane crash."
😂
This is real
Best parallel landing I ever seen 😍
Relativity: the planes are stationary, the airport is moving
relative to the airport, the planes are moving
Yes
@@Sanyu-Tumusiime Relativity only works one way.
@@thememaster7 relativity works both ways, depends on the perspective.
@@Sanyu-Tumusiime It works in relation to gravity, otherwise, it's pretty useless if you can do it from any perspective.
I was rooting for the other plane lol
That was a very smooth landing!!!
Fantastic video Eric! Thank you for sharing.
Wwooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww! That was amazing! It’s like they are doing a Dubai fly show! 😮🤩

Very cool sight to see!

***** In SFO, it happens all the time.
prglg First time for me. So weird that it took that long. =)

such a nice video man pleasure to watch
That was fun to watch. Nice video! :)
Beautiful
Had that experience once as SFO except it was a JAL 747 coming in on the other runway. We were going faster though so didn’t get to see his landing
Nice video. The scenery was beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Have a blessed evening.
Phenomenal landing for both aircraft
Now that's something you don't see everyday! Great video! 👍

Cool! Nice Job of catching it!

Both were very smooth landings.
Simultaneous close parallel (under PRM) approach. *flies away*
Truly amazing!
Who can touch the ground first?
Who can touch the ground first?
WHO CAN TOUCH THE GROUND FIRST???
Ahhh we touched the ground first
one of amazing things that i see on my life
LocodeRyanair That is actually a simulation.
Jani Setä Ok well nice "simulation" then.
So stunning
Professionals getting the job done.
Both of these pilots on the radio are like "wasssssssup" to each other!
Welcome to your weekly weekly dose of aviation!
This video should have a lot more views !
This is standard operating procedure at SFO and has been happening for over fifty years.
Beautiful!!!!!
I have seen three planes landing simultaneously on a regular basis at Atlanta airport.
I literally just saw this happen at SFO a few days ago and was wondering about it
How cool. Great video. Subscribed

Marvellous!
now that is something you dont see everyday !! Nice, thanks for sharing
espectacular.....
I'm certain all major airports do this at peak landing times. I have seen three planes landing simultaneously on a regular basis at Atlanta airport.
Wow :) Always awesome!
750 feet separation at centerline.
Wow amazing landing 👏
Awesome capture
Wow, that is very close!
I too enjoy parallel landing in Delhi airport only 20 airports allowed for parallel landing
amazing !
Awesome video!
Great catch!
Nice video!
In professional language: parallel landing
Simultaneous Dependent Close-Spaced Parallel Runways Approach and Landing.
Wow that was great!

That was siiick.

WOW!!!!! Amazing! 😀😀😀
Nice catch mate
Let's see who lands the plane better!
Both American airlines landed at the same time? That was epic.
wow, that was fking beautiful! this the only video planes landing same time?
I bet in the cockpit the alarm for aircraft nearby was buzzing its self off
lol
I bet you it wasn't.
Traffic, Traffic, Traffic, Traffic
Nope. No traffic calls
Sepehr Salimi Tcas alert ... Tcas alert
Now to scour RUclips looking for a video taken from the other plane
three glideslope antenna towers?
I wonder if they were landing on rwy 28L and 28R??
Very good
Is it me or does this really look like an FSX video because of the lighting?
It's you.
Awesome
The winglet matching the paint on the US Air is too perfect.
Doctors2Advocate US Air?
US Airways. The plane is a US Airways plane that has been painted in the American livery since they merged, but at the time of this video it would have still been US Airways with a cactus callsign.
+Doctors2Advocate this is virgin American
The Gaming Czar *Virgin America
+acefitt You know American Airlines was a company before the merge, right? It could've operated on either US Airways or American Airlines flight number/call sign.
THOSE SLATS THO
Nice!
It's called a parallel landing
Almost synchronized. I think this plane touchdown just before the other one did.
They touched down pretty much at the same point on the runways just different times, pretty cool.
They are always staggered a little with the plane landing on 28R behind. It is called Precision Runway Simultaneous Offset Instrument Approach. Nice............
Hate to think what the TCAS is doing up on the flight Deck
Nice
Super
How did you put ad in this video? I'm very curious becasuse your subscribers are only 380....
Cool!
I understand the water looks a tad strange in this video, but for so many people to question and say it's fake is just... what. Like seriously?
❤أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله❤وأن سيدنا محمد رسول الله عليه أفضل الصلاة وأتم التسليم❤
Parallel
I landed once with a Qantas a380
Nice race 👍
