We like things that are nice!
You don’t say😂killer setup🔥🔥🔥🔥
But great to see some love for the tc sentry, I have it since 2016 and still the best one imho.
That Marshall cab will never fit in the overhead. Under-seat is clearly the way to go.
Uncle Ben! I'll be your roadie! i used to be one of your students hit me up dude!
I only like stupid things
4x12 may not fit in the overhead…..but I think sweetwater might have free shipping
For those interested, here's the total price for these rigs
- Ben's rig: $9810
- Fluff's rig: $8590
african kids could've eaten those rigs
Those are fair figures.
just $60 a month for 150 months with Affirm
I like how Fluff's shoes match the color of the guitar and Ben's too.
Fluff going to the Valhalla of gear, can play anything, and builds basically the same rig he has at home!! Lol awesome!! You like what you like brother!! Cheers
Really unhappy that Fluff's shoes weren't mentioned as a catalyst to choosing that Ernie Ball.
He's got Lari Basilio vibe with that fit coordination
Love the stuff you and Ben do. If the Marshall cab won't go in the overhead try under the seat. Ya' never know...
“Rich Dad’s bass boat.” Spot on description, yet somehow I still find it breathtakingly gorgeous!
You’re not joke! Such a good description!
I now have a new goal in life. To acquire a rich dad bass boat, and blind all who look upon me with my glittery gleam.
I moved from 4x12 marshall rigs, to a 2x12 orange rig now down to a 1x12 Magnatone super 15 head and cab. Way easier on the back for gigs. The bigger rigs just stay at home now. Getting old sucks lol
You 2 Fella's should have a channel together, you make a great team!
You both chose a guitar that matches your shoes...
Your guys' back and forth dynamic is great. Good job!
Doesn't Fluff ostensibly own that rig already? Or does he not have a Mesa Rectifier 4x12?
TL;DR - "Dream" rig is basically a fairy tale and long-term 100% satisfaction is unattainable. Be happy with "close enough" where you don't feel like you compromised even if it's not 100% what you dream of.
I've been fortunate enough to buy my dream rig a couple of times now and I say that because I spent years lusting over what I thought was going to be the ultimate amp (Bogner Esctacy) and once I got it, it was ok but I realized it just wasn't the right amp for me. Oh well a Mesa Mark IV or V is what I REALLY need! Well I had both of those... Borrowed a IV and bought a V and played both at a few shows and the IV was pretty good but not exactly what I was after and the V was more flexible but didn't have the voicing I wanted so I moved on other amps and other amps and the idea of a "Dream" rig had all but totally evaporated.
Choice paralysis and knob/switch overload with the Mesa's pushed me to the opposite end of the spectrum and I got a 50w Silver Jubilee and despite still owning and absolutely LOVING the amp, it's not a dream amp. It was just a more tame and less angry and slightly more flexible version of my Nitro (which I still also own and love). Something more powerful but not voiced as mean as the Nitro? Fine I'll get 100w modded super lead. Nope. Great amp but not a dream amp. Like wrestling a bear on stage and the FX loop is garbage but I get why people love them and will probably eventually get it modded more too. Next?
I got a custom built 50w SLO and it 100% satisfied me... for a while... hands down the best stage amp I've ever played. Hugely clear sound, hits like 100w amp, sits perfectly in the mix but being all analog left me with tons of cables all over the stage. Maybe something like a Helix or Quad cortex would be better? Our singer has both.
So I tried his Helix LT and it was OK sound-wise but hugely impressive with it's routing and flexibility that pushed my brain to the "I need an AxeFX now" place because despite spending a couple weeks with the Quad Cortex and really enjoying it's flexibility and ease of use on stage, it's a half-baked product right now and that's a big price tag for something that still needs lots of features to compete with the rest of the market. I bought in early with the Kemper and waited ages for it to mature and I don't want to go through that again so here I am with the AxeFX III but the SLO is still on stage but serving as the power section for my stage tone. I have the power and the sound of the SLO and a good cab (port city OS 2x12 with scumbacks) with the world class effects of the Fractal, the ability to send great amp sim tone out straight to the house, run a mic channel through the fractal for EQ/Comp/effects, etc.
Basically my point is that once you think you're at the finish line, you realize nothing is perfect and you take what you did and didn't like about this stuff and slowly start to form this subconscious list in your head of what you ACTUALLY need and as you start to dwell on that, you start looking elsewhere for different gear ideas that you wouldn't necessarily have considered before.
I was 95% happy "close enough" with the Jubilee, my JHS Klon boost and the Stomp HX in the FX loop, a rig I had maybe $2500 total invested in but I got greedy and all the "what if's" got the best of me and I fell down that rabbit hole.
Rockerverb 100 into PPC412 is still my favourite all time rig 🤘🏼😁❤️
you know it! That's my half stack rig!
@@dukeviking 🤘🏼🍊🍊🍊
You guys are both chill asf!
Awesome video guys! Thanks! Both rigs sound killer!! For me its my Jp2c+ and a Mesa oversized 4x12 with well worked in v30's!
I'd have option paralysis in a place like that...
$10k on a complete pro level rig isn't bad at all. There's MUCH more expensive hobbies out there.
I really hopeyou two will do more collabs in the future. It's great fun to watch.
Ben has such a pleasant voice. He should do podcasts!
Very nice rigs!!🤟🏻🤟🏻I’m in love with that bass boat painted guitar too lol. Had headphones in and they sound amazing. Thanks for another awesome vid. 🤟🏻
Finally a vid where the people in it choose to of the really badass rock-n-roll equipment out there, and they crush! Cool vid, would have LOVED to see you two doing more riffing on those rigs though. Ya'll are cool, your riffs are cooler 🙂
My bandmates always judge me for having not only a 30w 1x12 combo, but also having a 50w head and 4x12 cab. One other person always has to help me load the 4x12 in, and they usually complain...until I plug everything in and they hear how great it sounds to have that much air moving.
I've personally never had a problem loading the 4x12 in my car, it actually is the perfect size for my trunk when laid on its back
I was funny for me hearing Ben speaking in Spanish. With a heavy accent, but Spanish. Cheers from Spain.
SALUT!
My ultimate rig (with a tube amp) is a KSR modded Rev G and a 90s Mesa 412. I'm a big Fractal Audio fan though, so my actual ultimate rig is probably an AxeFX III and two Matrix FR212A cabinets.
Great tone, guys! 🎸🤘🎸
Two of my favorites in one video, fun video guys.
As a subscriber to both of your channels, I really dig the collaboration.
Nice work with these Sweetwater videos. And of course it was fun to see you guys paired together. Nice content!
Fluff and Ben matching guitars to their shoes. I see you. 👀
Uncle Ben and Fluff. The partnership we deserve.
I talk gear like this to my wife and it’s the same look every time! “Wtf are you talking about!?” Love the video.
“Buy nice or buy twice”….so true. Live “buy” it!
Oh, that's, so, cute, Fluff's shoes match his guitar.
SLO wins for tone. Ben and Fluff for guitars. Ben for humor!!
You dudes should write a Hardcore Punk album with Blazing guitar solos
Good to see your guitar color matching the trim on your sneaks!
Fluff thanks for having Ben on your channel. Never would have found his channel otherwise.
Eyyyy
The best uncle you'll ever have... 😎
I like his channel alot very comprehensive walk-through and he's easy to listen to.
"Rich Dad Bass Boat" is the name of my Primus cover band.
Aqua Sparkle finish on the Music Man....wow. When I was a kid, I had a banana seat on my bicycle that looked just like that!
This is a fun video. Took me years but I built/attained my dream rig. As well as build my own ISO-cab to record at appropriate recording volumes for a 100W Tube Half Stack.
Me: PRS Studio Electric Guitar - Eriza Verde, Fender '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb 1x12" 22-watt Tube, Roland JC-40 Jazz Chorus 2x10" 40-watt, Line 6 Powercab 112 Plus Active Guitar Speaker and Line 6 Helix (and keep my Ampero 1)
Ben is awesome, his channel is consistently great.
Thank you!
@@BenEller My man, you are welcome. Happy New Year.
Just love how the guitar you picked matches your shoes, Fluff! 🤩👍
I have my dream rig. 100watt Marshall JVM410HJS 1960a 4x12 cab. Boss gt100. 4cm routing and Gibson High Performance Les Paul in blueberry fade. Also Carvin California Carved top with Floyd rose. Heaven on earth.
I would have way too much fun doing this until I realized I want it and can't afford it.
I think I have my dream rig. I have a Helix rack with floor controller. I have a couple of 5150s, the original block letter 5150 and a 5150 III lunch box. I run them 4cm. The Helix effects are terrific and I can use it’s amp models with the tube peer from the 5150. The SLO model and Placater model from Helix sound terrific this way. And I have a great 4x12. Any volume I want from bedroom levels to full volume. I can build any 3 number of 3 channel rigs I want with all the effects I could ever need. I’m very happy.
I actually saved for a long time and bought my dream rig, which currently is a PRS Brent Mason in a Two-Rock Studio Signature head with a Marshall 2061cx Vertical 2x12” cab. And for pedal, I have one of the best Klon clone with the Decibelics Golden Horse… The only potential change I might do at some point is go for a PRS Silver Sky; I’m just reluctant of the 7.25” radius.
+10 XP For Princess Bride reference Uncle Benjamin.
Anybody want a peanut?
Damn I love the energy in these videos
buy nice or buy twice is actually so real
saving up a week or 2 longer to get the right thing rather than rushing and being happy with what you got is something i faced way to many times lolol
You guys together is such a fun combination
I love seeing my annual salary represented by 2 amps and a guitar
Time for a new full time gig man......
@@simonfreer9076 good thing we just have all these super high paying jobs laying around
@@Ottophil we are in the midst of a labour shortage. Minimum wage just went up a dollar here. Starting wage at any manufacturing position here is $19/hr......with a raise at 3, 6 and 12months. I'm sorry if your annual income is sub $20k/year.
@@Ottophil I didn’t catch the sarcasm here, at first. Everyone is hiring.
I'd like to get a BE-100 Deluxe. They've been back-ordered since forever.
That was rad! I’d love to goof off in that place. But I’ve been fortunate enough to have several “dream rigs” over the years and as gear comes and goes I’ve settled on the KSR Ares 6550 tubed head for modern stuff, SLO 30 for everything else. I run them through a Soldano vertical 2x12, stock, and that does it. Those G12H Anniversary speakers are sick; I have one in a 1x12 Zilla Fatbaby and it sounds ridiculously good.
If I had the ability to have a bigger dream rig it would be custom Friedman JJ-100 w/ the Butterslax Mod, depth and a few other switches; Zilla Cab 4x12 with G12H Anniversaries on top, UK V30s on the bottom. LWA pedals Burning Spirit OD, Acheron Reverb/Delay, Shattered Reflection and Void Multi-FX, Tannhauser dual gate, Dunlop Cantrell Wah.
I’d also consider going full custom with Dave Friedman, to make an old school death metal amp, but it would have to have a JBE mod/switch. Big money stuff right there.
This video has big "Better Than Andertons" energy.
"Rich dad bass boat" perfect... Do the matching shoes come with?
Have that Charvel, thing just plays itself.
Ouch! Too much for my needs. Just picked up a DV Mark EG "RAW DAWG" head which checks all the boxes for me.
Nice choices guys, but it always makes me smile when people highlight systems/tricks to stop the jack pulling out accidentally - back in the day (I'm pushing 60) the whole point was that it would pull out without damaging anything ie pulling the instrument off it's strap/toppling the head off a stack etc! Better silence than destroyed gear?? 😀
People these days generally pass the cable through the strap. Some companies have paid attention.
Hmmm, the two amplifiers I was thinking about getting from Sweetwater to. Second guessing myself about chosing the Friedman before it gets here this week.
Haha. My last video prediction. Ben switches to the Sentry! That's a psychic minor scale!
I thought I wanted a JP model EBMM, but those new HSS Lukather models look nice...
Man you guys were in my town! Wish I had met ya!
Fluff picked the guitar that matched his shoes!
I just loved that intro, very clean.
Bens rig sounds like its straight outta a ratt song, i fuckin love it
Awesome 👌
A Dweem within a Dweem. ( That is Symphony-X lyrics. "Through the Looking Glass" )
That Marshall 1960BHW cab does not have the Celestion 70th Anni G12H30! It's the G12H30 Heritage 55hz. They just stoped making these. Sounds very different, darker than the Anni.
Cool 😎 video guys
Super fun video. Love it!
Beautiful rigs with amazing sound. That people are moving away from and playing Fractals and Helix's live. I love the SLO. And have always thought about buying one, but never will at this point because I just don't need it. I barely play my Mesa Mark V anymore and just use the Fractal FM3. And I'm eyeballing skipping the FM9 and just go full AXE-FX rig. Sadly things have changed and lots of players are moving away from these awesome tube amp rigs. Seeing a player with a half stack may be like seeing a unicorn.
Unicorn pride!
I mean, it makes sense with all the time and money you save while still attaining great sound. While maybe there are tonal differences, the average Joe can't tell and don't care.
If you gig regularly, your back will thank you for going with the modelers over the stacks and tube amps of yester-year. As much as I love the real stuff, I'm glad we have the tech available now to sound just as good at a fraction of the weight.
Uncle Ben gets a weekend with step-dad, finally!
awesome video guys! I like Fluff and everything he deos, but me Uncle Ben is the man! dude shreds!! Keep making awesome videos gents! thankyou!
It's funny watching this because I just made a trip there last week, and it feels like i'm walking alongside you guys lol
I’m glad that I have all of these in my Line 6 Helix :)
Did you coordinate your shoes with the guitar?
How's Musicman Luke 3 compare to your Musicman Stingray? Both look stunning!
Uncle Ben's "me gusta mucho" cracked me up haha
This is your 3rd (?) video together with Ben and I still can't believe that you guys haven't made a "Home Improvement" reference. Come on! It's right there!
(Naturally Ben is Al and you're the Toolman. )
Tool time baby!
I like how Fluff matched his guitar to his shoes. Lmao
Fluff, I get a total Testament Electric Crown vibe from what you were playing. \m/
That place is fun, we recorded the drums on our new ep there 🤘
I've always wanted to do exactly what you did in this vid!
I was so stoked to hear you both play us out on your rigs. Aaaannnnnd Nope, not a peep from those sweet rigs.
Same lol .
Is the what’s app comment a scam?
The shoes match the guitar.... nice.
Fluff’s tone was crushing!!!
"Dweam wiffin a dweam...." lol
Ok not gonna lie that Luke III sounds awesome. I think if I were able to build a rig money no object I'd go with the same Mesa cab. A Revv Generator 100r. Noise gate. Tube screamer. And a tremonti core stop tail.
Ben - Me gusta mucho! lmao!
Well I have my wish list thanks
Look at fluff matching his shoes to his guitar. Dad Drip Confirmed.
Fun video. Far, far outside of my budget, but fun.
I'm just 1 marshall 1936 cab away from my rig. Going to buy one as soon as i'm able to play guitar again.
Holyshit that Friedman sounds fucking amazeballs!!!
ok, that soldano is really nice. glenn doesn't do it justice imo. you did.
Does Sweetwater carry victory amps now?? Eyeing that kraken in the background 👀
I love hearing people gush over the TC noise gate. It was my first, last, and only noise gate i will ever need
Dream setup: 1 guitar, 1 amp, 1 Cabinet, 1 pedal! Line 6 USA JTV-89F, Line 6 Spider V Mk II 240w RMS Head (with 4 inch internal speakers at 40w RMS), Yamaha 2x12", Line 5 FBV3 floor controller. I have many others but my list above can literally do it all... Line 6 USA JTV-89F Guitar can be several different instruments including 12 string, Baritone, Sitar, Banjo, violin, piano, synthesizer, choir... anything you can download! Mk II Spider V amp can sound exactly like "all other" amps/cabs combinations and any effects you want, if not already inside, anything can be downloaded. The Line 6 4x12" is strained by the 200w RMS of head unit power (plus 40w RMS into built-in 4-inch speakers) so I got the Yamaha w/ mismatched “Eminence Legend1218” and “The Tonker 12" drivers, (switchable mono or stereo operation, you can choose which driver to partner with which amp). FBV3 footboard controls it all! The guitar costs more than the rest of the gear put together, and very much worth it (even if like me, you have to go with the foreign-made JTV90F Bstock, which is still my best guitar).
I'd take uncle Ben's rig everyday of the week and twice on sunday... charvel is the shit. I'm not big on music man but I like the one fluff has idk I just don't like the headstock on them and my charvel is one of the best guitars I've ever played... so it's really no contest imo.
