Jay, I always appreciate you videos, but not this time, I got in trouble because of it, you said to take photos of anything in the house, so I took a macro of my mother in law’s wrinkles on her face while she was taking a nap (after drinking half a bottle of my brandy) and my wife didn't think that it was funny, now I’m sleeping on the couch. Thanks for nothing. (this is my argentininan sense of humor). Stay safe.
Hi nice to see your macro use of 16 80 lens . Can you suggest me that what choice will be best for travel. Fuji xt 30 with 16 80 or olympus em1 ii with 12 100 pro lens? I have both the cameras but don't have these lense. I have pana 14 140 and fuji 23mm f2
Unfortunately the MFT system is the one I have almost no experience with. So I cant give you a fair comparison here. But I think the X-T30 with the 16-80 F4 is the perfect travel kit. I thought a lot about recording a video about exactly this setup but - you know - traveling.... maybe I will do it if the situation allows it. Thanks for watching!
Hey Gert. Sorry, but I don’t have experience with those tubes. But what other people tell me, it’s really a good approach to do Makros. And as this lens already has a short minimal focus distance, it should be a great combo… Thx for watching!
I'll change my old and dear Olympus for a Fujifilm X-T4 soon and I was wondering which lenses to buy with the camera; and seeing this video has somehow helping me to take a choice. I want a macro-focused lenses and the results in your video are similar to what I'm expeting to get. so this Fujinon 16-80 might be the lenses I'm looking for my new camera. Thank you! =)
Arijit Kar Check out my full review of this lens on my channel, I compared it with other lenses, also with the 18-55. You can download the test images as well.
Hi I really like your vids! Just seen this one cause I'm thinking about getting the 16-80 but got confused (easily done!) when you said you set your fuji ISO to 80? My lowest fuji ISO is 160 or am I missing something obvious thanks.
I find that the automatic OIS OFF feature for tri-pod use, does not work with this lens, for long exposures, there is added movement. Found just two forums complaining about this issue, is this the same for You?
@@Jayshooter_photo Got it, thanks for the response. It's funny how this feature is praised by how a good idea it is, that it's better than a switch, yet no reviewer has tried if it works, it seems, haha.
After every cut there is a black frame! Verify your video before posting, if it's too long and you dont have the patience, at least with 10x speed, but this is not fun to watch.
Great video. Learned a lot. Thx.
Ha now I learned about the focusing distance being at sensor level. Thanks, Jochen.
Juan Andres Tovar You’re welcome! And thx for watching...
Wow, always wondered what that small icon was. Now I know! Thank you 😊👍
Guy Gadbois You’re welcome! Thanks for watching.
Thanks, this open my view of close up with my 16-80. I will start direct! But what do you think och steprings with this lens?
Never tried them, but should be working finde.
Ausgezeichnet! your English is better than my German. Im very impressed by all your instructional Videos so far. Dank.
Bitteschön! ;)

You have to lock your Brandy away. Or your mother-in-law... Funny guy. :D
@@Jayshooter_photo It’s not funny Jay, Gran Duque de Alba brandy cost me about $50.00 (LOL).
Hope they both still love you
@@johngoodwin34 LOL
Well done, fun and informative! I am looking forward to trying some macro with this lens myself now, thank you!
Bazilysk Thank you and have fun!
Hi there great video thanks for sharing. Have you tried a MCEX-11mm extension tube at all? Just wondering how it would work out with this lens.
Not yet, but maybe I will someday...
I want something to watch of Fujifilm so keep them coming. will be getting this lens with the coming XT4 as it will be a real bargain as a kit.
John Goodwin That will be an incredible combo. Thx for watching!
Well done !! The Rubic cube was pretty clean for me :-)
Thanks Alain! What do you mean with clean? Of course I polished it BEFORE.... :D
@@Jayshooter_photo hahaha i mean very details photo..sharp hahaha

Hi Jochen. Would you recommend using extension tubes with this lens?
Hey Gert. Sorry, but I don’t have experience with those tubes. But what other people tell me, it’s really a good approach to do Makros. And as this lens already has a short minimal focus distance, it should be a great combo… Thx for watching!
The depth of field is really small with extension tubes! But they are very cheap 😊

i have the 16-80 testing the extension tubes in coins so far..a 10 c. coin fills plenty of the screen.
Arménio Barão Thx for this. I will try some extension rings for sure some day... Thx for watching!
danke schön
Bitteschön! ;)
Is that focus wobble in video solved by firmware updation ???
Did not check the latest version, but with the last update it seemed to be still there.
@@Jayshooter_photo another query...
Is the sharpness(center to corners) comparable with 18-55? Or less than it?
Useful for landscapes?

This is actually not bad at all, can you make a comparison to 80mm macro video?
Unfortunately not, as I do not own this beautiful lens. But if I ever can get my hands on one, I will do it. Promised! Thx for watching...

No, you're right, it was my fault. Because the native lowest ISO is 160 and you should not go below it without need. . Thx for watching.
i like your video, but when i see this video, there is always a black frame problem between two scenes,it looks uncomfortable.
Sorry for that...
I forgot to ask; where can I but that small diffuser you are using?
It's a Walimex Pro "Wavy" 56cm, amzn.to/2X8uSlq (Affiliate Link...). Thx for watching...
Bon...deja tu a l'air de te nourrir sainement....😊
Eh bien, tout ce qui était là n'appartient pas toujours à mon plan de repas.

I actually did not use the lens for long exposures on a tripod... Sorry.

very cool presentation. however i don't want to stay inside more! Come on It's almost a year now, Thanks

I am sorry. As you may have seen, this one is quite old on my channel. I don’t do it like this anymore… Thx for the feedback anyway.
