Lauren you are a great instructor. I’ve been playing for many years and mostly self taught and perform at sports bars on weekends while working full time during the week. I have a great friend that wants to learn to play as when he visits me in Arizona I always play for him and he said the song I love to hear you play is Peaceful Easy Feeling by the Eagles. My friend lives in Algonquin, Illinois and gave him a present, I flew to Chicago last year and gave him my first acoustic guitar and told him to watch Lauren Bateman on RUclips and she will teach you to play!
This old bloke needs to watch through then stop & rewind 200 times.... Best bit is l can hear the song in my head. Thanks Lauren, love your work. I would join your community other than l'm in Australia :)
Lauren, your guitar tutorials are always a blast! "Everybody Hurts" by R.E.M. is such a classic, and your teaching style makes learning arpeggios super fun and accessible. Keep rocking those tutorials! -Macy (Team Evan)
I would ad vise anyone who is starting out, and really wants to learn to play, to subscribe to this channel. These lessons will answer all your questions because Lauren is a master of lucid presentation.
A great lesson Lauren, struggling with changing between the barre chords, but getting there, I'm a member of a Facebook acoustic guitar group, I always recommend you for beginners, nobody better, thank you
Thanks Lauren! Perfect video. In some weird way knowing that everyone makes mistakes keeps me encouraged to work thru mine. And keep the coffee flowing 😊
Hey Lauren. Just subscribed to your channel recently. I have a question maybe you can help me with. I started playing guitar in my teens, then stopped for about 18 years. Then took up the acoustic exclusively and can finger pick including Travis picking, 'tap and scratch' etc. About five years ago I took up electric again. I am now in my early 60s, and find I can't build up the soloing speed that I want to. Luckily, I have no arthritis, so it's not that. I'm patient can learn new things fairly well, but I really want to be able to play fast when required. There's a particular piece that I would love to conquer - the Jan Akkerman solo from Focus's tune called 'Tommy'. I've been working on the last flurry of notes for literally years. I can't seem to get past about 80% of the proper speed. Any advice?
Once again, a great lesson Lauren. I love the concept and sound of arpeggio but find it much more difficult than chords because one needs to know EXACTLY where each string is. I know it's just practice 😢
Most excellent Lauren! I loved every moment of your video and learned a lot, thank you so much. This video works great since I’m currently taking your course on picking 101. My only issue is my eagerness to learn NOW and frustration that I need to take my time. 😅. Love your way of instruction. Please don’t change a thing. 😊
