    Congrats! I honestly wanted to be someone who drank responsibility in moderation. I realized that I couldn't, so now I've been sober for almost 3 months. Drunks are completely unhinged and annoying. I completely agree. My wife never drinks so she always told me that after 4 drinks, I started to annoy her. 😆 At least now I don't.

    i don't know how you do it but you put yourself out there in a very real, open, and honest way that is hard to do for most of us. Maybe it's not easy for you but all the credit and respect to you for making it happen. Also, you do it in a very pleasant way that's easy to listen to and you're not being judgmental, just honest. I'm sure there are people who are benefitting from the way you put this out there.

      Wow, I really appreciate this!!! I’ve always had issues being the real one, because people think they need to be fake, and that is not me. I limit myself so I don’t hurt others, but if I could tell my whole life, I feel I could help so many more. ❤️

    Meghan, you seem to be struggling here. Reaching for words.
    You are so positive for everyone. In appearance you look like a million dollars.
    Keep it going!

    Congrats Meghan, what an amazing milestone! Regarding not wanting to post Fitness content anymore, I totally relate. I used to have a fitness Instagram account where I posted workout videos (including Beachbody for a short while before I went anti-MLM), progress photos, and healthy recipes and I followed hundreds of accounts that did the same. Looking back, we all were just perpetuating the fitness industry's unhealthy obsession with aesthetics and extreme to an unhealthy extent measures, and it wasn't healthy for me to constantly be comparing and critiquing my own body or steeping myself in healthy eating/exercise content for hours each day.
    I deleted my account and now pursue my healthy lifestyle without documenting it in photographs or following fitness accounts, and I feel like my overall happiness and health has improved as a result. It's kind of weird, you'd think that being steeped in fitness content and making it yourself would reap better results, but it really didn't in my experience. Too much of anything good can go bad, as they say, I guess!

    Wow double proud of you here Meghan because not only is it a month away from being a whole year for you, you said you had some problems you've faced, sorry to hear that by the way and hope you'll be ok. But despite the difficult times you still said no to alcohol. Bravo to you, what strength and courage 👏 🎉
    I have to be honest something that I'm worried about, hard times come for all of us just hoping I'll be like you and deal with them soberly. Whats your secret to avoiding it despite the hardships you recently faced?

    • @Soberstrong
      @Soberstrong  3 месяца назад

      How I avoid it, is I’ve realized that if I fail, these people that have hurt me, will win. And I’m not about to let that happen. Besides I feel ao much better dealing with this stuff sober. Processing it sober will hopefully help heal better.

    ps congrats on 11 months,,,,yippie ....have a diet coke on me. It means that of the literally millions of gallons of alcohol consumed each year 80 % is consumed by only 20% of the population. We always hear the figure that 10% of the public have a drinking issue. I actually think it is a bit higher. But it does point out the Hugh disparity between drinkers and " Social ", or non drinkers. In beer marketing your target audience is men 18-27. Those are the highest consumers. With more women now drinking seltzers and wine, money is now being targeted to that demographic as well. Seltzers are the new hottest category. Example White Claw. You look and sound so great..:)) keep up the good work. Soon you won't even remember you drank. Except always keep those train wreck times as a reminder, you don't ever need to go back. I'm so glad you did not need to go into treatment. Alcohol dependency is the worst. It's really not the desire to drink then, it's the fear of withdrawal. So proud of you and yours. Best decision you will ever make in your life and your children's. I was fortunate, I quit before my girls ever saw me drink. But they know from my ex....and me at times. I decided not to bring up the subject of their possible over consumption yet. My therapist and I decided it's not necessary, and could cause some embarrassment, and maybe even some resentment. But if I see it get out of control....Dad will come a knocking...with love, compassion, and empathy. I remember all to well if someone critiqued my habits, it did not brighten my day...lololol. Guess I'm to sensitive:)) Take care my friend...:))) Be proud!!!!

    OK, these are some good reminders, there’s no question that increasing your mental clarity and boosting your drive, comes with quitting. Yes, there are many ways to kick the habit, Steffon Barkload's Quit Drinking Forever is what worked for me, best shortcut I go’ogled that took days without withdrawal.
