A dry fast for someone just starting a fasting lifestyle is like trying to ring out a really greasy dirty rag and hoping you can get the rag clean. You really need to ease into fasting. Start with Keto then possibly the lion diet then bone broth and then try a water/salt fast for a few days....Then maybe do a 24hr dry fast...Maybe. I would build to dry fasting over months. If you can't stick to a diet for a few months you probably shouldn't jump into a dry fast. Just my thoughts. I'm no expert but I have fasted a number of times. Due to my past love of drinking I could only do 72 to 80 hours. Fasting made me feel better about how much I was drinking...lol. Man did my liver want to punch me in the face every time but it always got easier. I can only guess it was all the toxins coming out.
Thanks again, Mrs. MaLean for kick-starting my drink free lifestyle! You rock!
    Love the fasting talks!

I know there is a mind set in some alcoholics that workout and that is okay we worked out now we can drink some more poison because we work out, lol. It is utter insanity, truly. For the real alcoholics who have had many long years of a drinking career then fasting is absolutely dire in order to help heal all the damage that alcohol has done to the body. Fasting is now a viable therapy used for patients with traumatic brain injuries. And trust me if you have been drinking for years then you have suffered brain injuries from alcohol, and brain shrinkage. Fasting can truly help restore vitality and health to the body. Also incorporating cleanses and herbs to support the liver and pancreas. Systemic Enzymes are a POWERHOUSE to repair and remove scarred liver tissue, which is really what alochol does to the liver, and cirrhosis of the liver is severely scarred. Alcohol also creates alot of deadly visceral fat around organs and fatty liver disease, so yes fasting is an amazing ally for us to restore lost health and wellness, and work on detoxing the body because this was very difficult to do while we were drinking. Happy Sober New Year everyone 🙏🎅 I also recommend doing water fast with no coffee, I did some fasts with coffee and caffeine creates stress in the body, adds more stress during the fast, without it I had way more powerful experiences of clarity, caffeine is a drug.

Hey there, THE PATRIOT! It’s great to see such dedication to turning life around and embracing fasting as a path to health and recovery. You’re absolutely right; it takes immense willpower to break free from old habits, especially when it comes to alcohol. Your approach to healing and the emphasis on holistic methods, like fasting and supporting liver and pancreatic health, is truly commendable. It’s inspiring to hear how you’re not only reclaiming your health but also encouraging others to do the same. Wishing you continued strength on your journey and a very Happy Sober New Year. Keep up the amazing work, and thank you for the comment 🥰😊!

I have been a regular, almost nightly drinker. It starts with a scotch or bourbon after the kids go to bed, I promise myself I’m only gonna have one, then it’s two, three, sometimes more. I wake up many mornings with a headache and hangover. Even on weeknights I’m often staying up till midnight sipping on booze. I never talked about how bad I was about it. I tried to scale it back or quit for a few days. I feel like a mess all the time… I’m now finding out that LOTS of people are just like me.

Caffeine and other things and coffee definitely affect your insulin. It does affect the fast. You notice it’s only something like coffee that we love more than anything that we say is coincidentally OK for the fast. Just water just water and I know this will make people mad, and that only proves my point.it’s about blood sugar. It’s about insulin. It’s about baseline it’s about taking in nothing caffeine is a very strong something and other things and coffee again I’m sorry Santa is not real either.

@@Soberstrong I just think it’s interesting that it’s not like you can drink all the prune juice you want. It just happens to be our favorite beverage. Like you’ve seen with the anger that you’ve dealt with. This is also a sensitive subject. I’ve almost gotten in two different physical altercations not by choice having this debate in the sauna at the gym and in the end when they realize how angry they were getting they recognized that I was correct. But it was tense. And I don’t have a dog in the fight it’s just science. Thanks for what you do you’re helping a lot of people.
