After you get the 2 small rear cubby/storage boxes out, look up inside with a flashlight and you will see the little metal "retainer clips" that hold the dual speaker panel in place. If you push up on the bottom of the clips they will pop up+release that section of the panel. After the the "retainer clips" are released, go to the trunk area and pull the panel (starting at one side) a little rearward to release the top dual speaker panel from the vertical trunk panel (there are 6 places where the 2 panels connect to each other). Don't pull it too fast or you can break where they connect. I can't believe the video poster left that part out. Maybe he forgot to film that part..
Hey guys and @ unfinishedquest89, my birthday is coming up and I’ve had my cerulean bay blue 2003 Nissan 350z for almost 5 years now, she’s running strong @205,XXX miles. I’m treating myself to a sub today, there’s two amps in the back, so many cool things going on guys, her clutch is great feeling, a little squeaky but that’s ok right?? I truly enjoy conversing with my fellow 35de prior and current owners. We all can agree this car is special. What blows my mind is that it is the same from the R34 yet it does not come turbo charged yet has the longevity of a 200k mile turbo charged skyline, yet NA. Hi, Anthony. I follow your videos often. Thank you for such detailed tutorials. I'm trying to disassemble the rear area of my roadster, but can't find anything on the speakers. I followed your video for all but the top portion, roll cage area. Any thoughts or links you may know of?
Thanks for watching the videos! I'm not familiar with the Roadster at all honestly. You might want to check out my350z.com and someone might have written a tutorial on there.
@@AnthonyJ350 Thank you!! By a post I found someone said by Nissan design you have to break parts getting it apart and order new. Past few years we extend the wires, solder and heat shrink and then solder the wires directly to the speaker. Material is more consistent being just copper and reliability is much higher because it can't arc, due to a poor crimp.
The Roadsters have a different setup. Any idea how to take off panels on 350Z Roadster? I've looked everywhere. I changed head unit and front speakers and I'm keeping the Bose Sub and Amp. Sounds much better already but still would like to change rear speakers.
I had a pro shop look at it ( they did the head unit, rear camera & front speakers) and they said the only way to take the rear panel off breaks pins for the roll over enclosure. This is verified online in the only post we could find online regarding the rear panel removal on the roadsters. I have some nice Rockford Fosgate's I want to install. How did you do it without breaking these pins. There are two per side and replacement is $70 each! I don't want to pay $280 for pins that as of right now are fine!

AnthonyJ350 yeah thats it, bro!!! I was taking all the panels out yesterday and when i got to that lighter plug part i got stuck. i was trying hard to pull it out and it wouldnt come out. it took me 2 hrs to figure it out. i think that because it had never been taken out it just got stock there really hard. i was trying to be gentle and not brake it so i got a tiny screw driver and push it out super slow. Thank you so much for replying bro I really appreciate that.
That's the only thing i hate about Nissan 350z you have to remove so much shit just to get to what you need to replace same goes for the headlights with the bumper. I hope the 370z is alot more simple.
The 350Z is very aftermarket friendly however, the 370Z is similar. Small problem to deal with compared to newer cars and how complex they are and panels in newer vehicles not wanting to come apart as easily.

you know you can use music to test, theres a place called NCS that has copy right songs that are actually pretty good.
Agerix Official I post tests on my Facebook page. I don't like testing it because I don't use the best mic and the speakers are not the same so I don't think it's a super accurate representation. My exhaust videos are somewhat what the vehicles sound like. Because I know a lot of people will start saying "that sound system sucks" when it's their laptop or computer speakers can't reproduce the sound.
What size speakers you use bro?
6.5" Hertz
I've gotta pull all that trim off just to get to the speakers! 😫
Unfortunately yes
Would you still buy this speaker in 2020, or would you buy a different one. If you would buy a different one tell me what you would buy
I would get JL Audio or Blam Audio if I were to choose another brand.
@@AnthonyJ350 ok, thanks for responding
What speaker size are they
6.5"
I did this thank you
Glad it helped!
same steps for convertible?
+Jewelian Crossley No idea. I'd assume they're a little different because of the side panels.
wait so the 350 doesn't come with speakers?
It does. we just replaced them.
what size are these speakers?
6.5"
AnthonyJ350 so i can bolt on only 6.5 inch speakers behind the seats and in the doors?
what wheels and tire size do you have?
+StanTheFirst Umm this wasn't my car, but here's a video on my wheel and tire combo. ruclips.net/video/x9XLGAojw6w/видео.html
those wheels are HRE if im not mistaken.
those wheels are HRE if im not mistaken.
Wow. They couldn’t just put removable covers like every other car. Gotta damn near take apart the whole inside. Really the weather striping to.
Why would you want to make it serviceable? That would make sense for technicians and consumers. It's all about manufacturing and costs.
How do I know what amp to buy?
Depends on the sub and what you're trying to accomplish.
I thought this shit was going to be simple LOL it sure looks like it on the setup
Ya a lot of vehicle disassembly required for this one.
What side skirts are those
WHAT SIZE ARE THOSE SPEAKERS BOI?
JUNEORJUNE 6.5"
THANKS BRO
Can’t figure out how to get the pocket out. HELP
Pull it out, use a pry tool to help.
where are you located
+jdrobertson76 Vancouver Lower Mainland BC.
Why didn’t they just make it so the grille can come off
Harder to manufacture.
all he had too do was a instrumental free of use lol 😂
Thanks for the feedback!
bro how the heck did u remove the ciggarette lighter plug off of it cause im doing this right now, and believe it or not ive been sruck trying to get that fucking plug off the actuall lighter and i cant.
??? there's like a little lock and you push or pull. I don't remember exactly which one it is.
350 zay
why do you say 350zed
Because I'm Canadian.
+AnthonyJ350 oh ok makes a lot more sense now lol
Good👏👏👏
Thanks for watching!
Merci 😊
You're welcome
gotta 1up the guy who worked on it before you lmao
Daniel Avila Just making improvements ;p. I'd one up myself now that I learned about FAST Rings.
The wheels please for the love of God tell me where you got them lol
They're Gramlights 57S Pro with Rays metallic coating with a Titanium lip.
@@AnthonyJ350 i wanna remove my speakers but ill probably just do the doors i only have a new pair i bought.
@@EstanislaoGTI Fronts are where you want to focus your efforts for good sound quality, I have a video for them ruclips.net/video/VUzfINPAFcE/видео.html
Nice, way more of a bitch to do than I expected lol
Ya it's not the most fun thing to do on the car lol. I just put the Akebono BBK on and I think that was easier.
lost royalty/hentai kings car?
Yup, this is VancouverZ33's car.
Now to remove the rear speakers we need to start by dropping the engine. Geez laweez Nissan you could’ve created an easier?
I know, I need to talk to the engineers that design cars sometimes. A lot of designs like this are so unnecessary.
Hey there's something on your hand.
+kelby me Ah thanks man. Wouldn't have got it off if it wasn't for you telling me :p
Shit thats alot of work
MMMhmmmmm
Never once do you mention the size of the speaker…
6.5"
thanks .. but please dont say zed ever again.. thank you have a nice day .
You're American aren't you? I'm Canadian and that's how the letter is pronounced. Also majority of English speaking countries pronounce it that way, including England which is in the Commonwealth, which Canada is also a part of.
Rear speakers shouldn't be coaxials Mids and highs are supposed to be coming from front. You're messing the soundscene.
Paweł Be Yes (that's how my car is setup) for the avg Joe coax in the rear is common. For what you're saying then those setups would have amplifiers and/or DSP capable to band pass the rear speakers anyways.
Paweł Be P.S. it's hard to purchase a mid range woofer by itself.
What the hell nissan lmao
You should see changing out a headlight in this thing.
