I am a New Zealand Maori, love your video! But I'd love to point out how much a appreciate your effort to pronouncing our language correctly, not commonly heard in our own people let alone travelers. Hats off to you champ.
Oh wow, those trails looks amazing! This trip looks like so much fun and the scenery is spectacular too. Thanks for sharing Brian, helping me through my final semester of college
Wow this was one of the best trail systems I've seen on the channel and I've seen some amazing ones. Something about the terrain changing and the constant and flow that makes you really work for it. Amazing ride Brian. NZ looks amazing.
Whakarewarewa Forest is awesome. Amazing flow and the volcanic soil is amazingly grippy and has great drainage. Then when you're knackered at the end of a full day of riding head to the hot springs to unwind.
Then go to Wellington and Nelson it's the undiscovered bits that everyone misses cause they go to Rototua or Queenstown. Check out the parks and trails on RUclips then multiply by 100
Wow what a different landscape I dont know why but tree stumps make me more nervous than trees. I was almost having an anxiety attack with all the stumps at the beginning there. Then you go into Jurassic park but great riding. The hub on that Zerode sounds beautiful.
Holy rape and pillage logging clear cut batman! Looks like an atomic bomb was dropped on that hillside. All I could think of was having my foot and pedal get hung up on one of those thousand or so stumps. I was wondering if the Zerode used that new German Pinion gearbox or a standard derailleur? Oops, just clicked the link and see that it was the Pinion gearbox. What was your opinion? Did it take long to figure out the shifting? (although not much of that happening)
It's not rape and pillage logging mate, it's a pine stand that's been logged but it's also been replanted to grow for another 25-30 years and it will be logged again. It's actually a very low impact considering what gets done to help preserve what's left of it
Love the way you are mid tropical rainforest then...... Suburbia. I rode the rain forests near Cairns about 25 years ago so can partly relate.... Stunning stuff!
Sorry Brian i haven't been around for a while. Now im back! That trail is a masterpiece! Narrow flowy and challenging at the same time! Must have been such fun going down there! Good stuff!
Te Ahi Manewa! My favorite. -- norcal boy who got to visit Sep '18, when it was a little wetter! Hope you get to Nelson and Queenstown. Love the vids, Brian!
Bucket list riding - Great videos Brian: I remember riding the clear fall trail a few years ago and other trails around Rotorua. I was riding my XC race bike and if I did it again, a short wheelbase, playful trail bike is a better ride - Something like a Rocky Mountain Altitude or similar. A couple of suggestions if you make the trip -- Go into the native bush at dawn or dusk and listen to the bird calls. I've been told Costa Rica is similar, but there's nothing like it in North America or Europe. On a rest day, or if your partner isn't into riding, hike the Tongariro Crossing trail. It was the inspiration for Mt. Doom in the LOTR, and a dramatic landscape.
Funny you should be posting about Split Enzs because I will be finishing up a full top to bottom edit of this trail this week. I absolutely love this trail! and sounds like you did too
look at brian go, bunnyhopping roots hitting little doubles like theyre no big deal. really cool to see you progress, and of course these truly awesome trails :)
AWSOME Flow riding and Positive flow of joyfulness.😁 Very well done Brian keep both of those flows going. Two thumbs up and a like button 👍🏾👍🏾😊 Be Safe -Sam
