    The first time I put my foot in my 5.5, I thought I would hate them, but after 2 laps, I'm actually as comfortable as in my house shoes in them.

    Great video like most of the RM vids. I come here to get details and technical info I don't find elsewhere. Boot weight is a good example. Weight is a big deal to me and here I learned the weight of both boots. I wish it was included in the specs. As for the boots, I currently own both the T7 and 5.5. I like the fit and comfort of the T7 but the construction and protection is inferior to the 5.5. The down side of the 5.5 is that its a bit heavier than the T7 and clumsy to walk in. That's why I'm considering the 4.5 enduro. Its definitely lighter than the 5.5 and without the flex loc system should have better agility. Need to try them on. I'm also considering the SIDI X3 enduro but they are hard to find.

    Excellent review chase. In general RM does some of best reviews. As others have note, far better than just some printed article. I am now considering a Leatt 4.5 Enduro instead of replacing my Tech 7 with another one. Thanks. Kam

    Hi Chase, I wrote to you from Italy a few weeks ago about the “mid level boots” video. This is my opinion: leatts are not easy to find here in northern Italy, tech7s offer the best peeg feel and the gaerne fastback offer better protection. In the end I bought the gaerne fastback for greater protection and durability as I use DRC oversized footpegs, the gaerne sole is stiffer than alpinestars but after a short time you have total control. Your videos are always excellent, I hope someday to see a video with leatt vs gaerne. Greetings from Italy. Andrea

    First impression of wearing Leatt 4.5 Enduro . Two thumbs up.
    I already own a pair of Alpinestars Tech 7 in size 9 US. I just ordered the Leatt 4.5 in size 9 US for replacement. My initial impressions after unboxing boots and comparing them to Tech 7. The Leatt 4.5 weights identical to the Tech 7 in size 9. Both came in at 3lb. 13.9oz. Both boots are same height. The Leatt 4.5 tapers about 1/4" in rear. As RMC ( Chase ) mentioned, the Leatt seems to run slightly snugger around heal and toe box area. The Leatt actually seems to fit me better. In shoe size, I am somewhere closer to 9.5. I have a small and narrow foot that measures around 268mm. in length with thin sock.
    Cleary the Leatt 4.5 Enduro is going after the Tech 7. Both have very similar liners. The foot bed of Leatt is very grippy. I had to work to get my Superfeet insole in. The enduro sole seems grippy. The forward walking flex is very similar to Tech 7. The toe area will need some breaking to bend.
    Thanks RMC for your various Leatt 4.5 reviews. Spot on thus far.

    It would be nice if you also sowed the shape of your foot. I noticed that many MX riders have very narrow and sometimes even flat feet - probably because they have been riding since childhood and kept squeezing their feet into narrow boots and because they have not been walking or running a lot.

  • @Papparratzi
    @Papparratzi Месяц назад

    I have 3 Tech 7s. 1 is the Drystar for off-road. Unfortunately the boot doesn’t live up to its name. It seems that Alpinestars used the same die cut for it as the regular Tech 7s.
    It always leaves a gap when buckling up. I assume it’s because the additional padding wasn’t taken into account when they used the same die cut.
    I get more water with it than the regular Tech 7s.

      Can I also add that the grip from the rubber style sides on the Leatts is next level, they really lock you in and save tired arms on long rides. Was a nice added bonus to them that I wasn't expecting. 👍

    • @rmatvmc

      Our rider here that uses the 4.5 says that they have held up good for him. But it's hard to say if they're more or less durable than the Tech 7. Some riders are harder on boots than others too. We have several riders that wear the Tech 7 and they've all held up really good for them.
