    I bought some items from your website today. I got the trowel and paint brushes. I already had epoxy, the silver, black and gold marble spray, xim primer, white, pearl , and diamond dust mica powder. Im been binge watching your channel trying to find ideas. My kitchen has brownish red wood cabinets with brushed nickel handles. So I want to do this but add just a hint of gold. Or I may stick with the silver and add a touch of black. Scared, but I'm going to transform my outdated brown laminated countertops. I'm going to practice first. Wish me luck.

      I use Stonecoat Art coat which has the highest UVA protection on the market. All epoxy, no matter what brand, at some point will start to Amber. Ive had countertops that are years old done with the Art Coat and look great. I don’t advise doing white in areas where you have direct sunlight constantly. This will accelerate the ambering process.

      @@debih.9241 it’s will take the high gloss down to a more natural matte sheen. Great finish. Planning on doing this on a large 40 sq ft in place countertop with regular SCC epoxy. A couple question for you. Would painting base with natural gray first look OK? Seems like a lot of other projects start with this base color. How much white dye would I use? Mike from SCC always chops his epoxy, would you do that before adding spray and bondo spreader technique? Would you do half the counter with epoxy, paint and alcohol, then the other side and do Montana marble all at once? You do so many great techniques but I think this one will be the easiest for my large project Thanks in advance for your advice and great videos.

    So, I am looking to do this on my bathroom vanity top. I had already purchased the regular stone coat, but have bathroom too torn up to do it... Thank you covid! Also, is there some sea in Dallas that warrants shell sink shape) when you spray on top of the epoxy how do you think it will distort?

    • @RK3Designs
      @RK3Designs  4 года назад +1

      I’ve used the regular epoxy and sprayed the Montana Marble over the top and it works great! If you’re doing a sink with an integrated backsplash, you can spray the marble “pre epoxy” and get a great, easy finish. 😊

    I have a tile kitchen countertop and backsplash. If I use aquastone from faux effects to fill in and smooth our both surfaces, would I be able to use these epoxy techniques on top of that? I just love the way these look but am very worried about doing the backsplash since I can’t move it.

    • @RK3Designs
      @RK3Designs  3 года назад

      Those products are good, but I’ve never used them over tile. I have used self leveling concrete with great success. As far as the backsplash, I think it would work well. Just have to make sure there’s no shrinking when it dries so to not shows the grout lines.

      Rhonda, I spoke with Mike W @ Stonecoat Countertops yesterday afternoon and they're currently not offering any of the Platinum line products because of the work time it was setting up too fast and people were not able to figure out why so their reformulating it to give it a longer work time and are only selling the original version. Just wanted to pass this little tidbit of information along to you so that you knew. I had called to ask about using it in a vertical pour if the shorter work time would help me with the sagging and running and Mike said that once the thickener was added that I wouldn't have but a matter of minutes before it would setup on me and would probably never get the shower walls covered especially with the size of the walk in shower that I'm doing.

      You could apply the Montana Marble spray vertically but not the epoxy because it would run. If you add thickener to the epoxy you can get it vertical but it would have this melded marble effect. I would suggest doing this finish on a horizontal piece of material then attaching it to the wall once it’s dry.
