Professional Mic Set-ups with the Tascam Portacapture X8 (Part Four)

The Tascam Portacapture X8 has improved a lot over the years since its predecessor, the Tascam DR-100 Mark 2. (Multiple tracks, 32 bit float recording, USB power, internal mixing and on-board FX just to name a few.) One improvement was unfortunately, not updating the cheap built in mics on the front of the unit. Here, I'll go over some of the ways to attach more professional mics as well as some of the configurations I use to get great quality 32 bit recordings in a number of different environments.
