Found out about this project, as a happy accident, recently. Was so captured & intrigued with hearing that original song that I had to purchase the record. One in a thousand is an album that is constantly on repeat on my CD player. I love it. I can honestly say I have not been impressed with a new record since perhaps the last Eden House or Actors records. The record deserves to be heard and be a monumental success.
This interview is a wee treat. Thank you x

Their message and music resonates with so many of us. They succeeded in making a superb album and managed to make it inclusive. Their sincerity, humbleness and talent is difficult to ignore. The music is simply wonderful and invigorating from Laura’s bumping bass to Rat’s guitar work which is subtle and understated yet brilliant (the kind of work you’d hope to expect from a mature, experienced guitarist). In short, the world needed this album and hope it breaks worldwide. Obey Robots are real, regular down-to-eartg people who managed to make an unreal, stellar album. Get some today!

Really good video & it's terrific your album landed on the charts. I really like the music on this album as well. My only issue is that you have really warm weather & it was -17° here yesterday, I'm just jealous.
Mike Munroe of Hanoi Rocks fame really wanted to tour North America to support the release of Live too Fast to Die Young however, he said point blank "I would take such a financial hit trying to do that tour that it would leave me bankrupt."
Touring is incredibly expensive & ticket sales only cover the costs associated with playing a venue. If you can't push enough merch, you will take a loss for a live show.
For the most part managers are parasites that will end you faster than the bubonic plague & that's a fact. Without a cpa, your playing with fire. Promotion costs a bit more kings ransom.
There's just a hell of a lot going on behind the scenes that nobody ever sees.
I'm really happy for you both of you & hope for even greater success in the future.
    Cheers from frozen Hell 🇨🇦

Another good interview. Not that I was ever famous, but I haven't performed for over 30 years, either (I played in a ceilidh band in my youth 😊)

I have been listening to the Obey Robot album a lot since it came out, and worked back through She Makes War and Penfriend to see what I'd been missing. \but now I have a more direct and unrelated query: if you're driving with a camera facing you in the car, do you remain aware that it's on you and alter your behaviour, or forget all about it? There seemed to be an absence of car singing from Laura's drive.
If I'm driving any reasonable distance, the chances of my not singing along to music are minimal - and if not music then announcing my agreement or disagreement (to no one but myself) with whatever I've listened to via radio or podcast. Given my lack of any discernable singing talent, it's for the best that there's an audience of 1.

I'm singing very loudly along to Radiohead for almost the entire drive!

I'm sure you couldn't possibly have planned this, unless you get more control over the RUclips gods than I thought was achievable, but at 19:27 when Dave says "are we ever going to be in a situation where we hear the songs live?" an advert cuts in straight away saying 'there's been a kidnapping!'' Near perfect juxtaposition.
For the record, I adore the Porcupine video: if that's the bench mark then I am absolutely up for 'off the wall'.
Interesting to note your observations on affordability: I thought gigs now had become a way to sell the bits which make music sustainable, ie selling t-shirts etc if not ticket prices directly in
a world where many (most?) people expect music for free.

Not only did you guys make great music together, but you both have the same strawberry blonde hair color, uncanny.
