      I got 2” lift, AT tires, a roof top tent for my outback wilderness and tire carrier as well from dirtcom, I was looking for skid plates pretty soon. What would you recommend @Chase_Schrader. Thanks!

    great video!! I really liked the flow and information of this.
    For my 2012 Fozzy I found that even a 2" lift stresses not only the CV axles but the front lower control arms and bushings.
    But I love it and wouldn't change it for the world!

    Great video, I completely agree with all those mods! Tires make a huge different. Man that Toyota comment is absolutely hilarious! 😂 I was laughing so hard reading it, keep up the good work and off roading Subarus. They’re just great cars and have so much versatility but people don’t know that.👍💪

    whats your thoughts on the Kings lifted springs with KYB struts? they say its 1.2 inch in the front and 1.3 in the rear.

    • @Chase_Schrader
      @Chase_Schrader  23 дня назад +1

      They are a good budget option, and probably the lift springs I would go with if, there spring rates seem reasonable for both unloaded and medium loads. For struts it depends on the model of car but we find the Bilsteins are a bit better with lift springs.

    The obligatory Toyota comment has been made, and objectively the Toyota body on frame is superior haha, engine aside. Kudos for getting amongst it tho, it is a neat lookin ride brother. Maybe more of a lift? lol

    • @Chase_Schrader
      @Chase_Schrader  Месяц назад +2

      Haha they come out of the woodwork as soon as I mention anything about Subaru's off road, at this point, it's a game. If you are looking to build a hard core off road rig, sure body on frame is better but at that point so is an F350 on 35s (plus you get better payload). But let's be real, most people on the trails don't need that, and would be better suited with something more comfortable, gets better fuel economy and is overall more affordable. There are very few people that actually use a proper off road build to its full potential.
      Thanks, I appreciate it! I have lots of plans for the build, including an H6, Subaru's dual range gearbox and of course a much bigger lift ahaha

      Ooof, two random people on the internet are telling me to sell my Subarus, I better do it.
      Seriously though, you two should check out my videos to see what it's really capable of... I drive it harder than most people drive their 'proper off-road vehicle'. It's not always about the make; it's about who's behind the wheel and how much fun you're having. So if you think Subarus can't handle it, I challenge you to watch and see just how wrong you might be.

      @@Chase_Schrader I can do most of the drives you talk about in any basic SUV? What’s your point? It’s not proper off-roading, sorry. Good try though. Maybe you can go buy a real 4x4 and do some proper off-roading.

    • @Chase_Schrader
      @Chase_Schrader  Месяц назад +1

      If you think my drives are basic, I guess you missed my other videos where I take this "basic SUV" on trail runs with 'proper off-road vehicles. But sure, feel free to go out with your "real" 4x4 and do some "proper off-roading" (whatever that means). While you're at it, let me know when you're ready to tackle some of the adventures I go on with my Forester.

  • @NoelG-IRE

    The best mod you can do to any Subaru, is delete the entire car and buy a Toyota. Subaru engines are terrible.

      @@Chase_Schrader I’ve 780k on a Toyota but that doesn’t mean anything. I bet the Subaru engine has or will need to be rebuilt. The gearbox the same. Forrester is an SUV. Not a proper off-road. Doesn’t even have proper low range. Calling it an overland is funny. And yes, I have owned one before. And yes, the engine gave trouble. It’s definitely a common problem in these cars and there is plenty of evidence to support it

    • @Chase_Schrader
      @Chase_Schrader  Месяц назад +1

      780k on a Toyota? That's typical, they are known for their reliability if they aren't clapped out. If your Subaru engine had trouble, maybe it was a 'you' problem. My Forester has been running strong without low range, and I still drive it harder than most 'proper' off-road builds. As for calling it overland, what's so funny about it? Watch my videos, and you'll see the kind of adventures it's capable of. If I were you, I would stick with my Toyota and we can have plenty of fun without you ;)

      @@Chase_Schrader awe, did we hit a nerve? You’re on here telling people this is a great off-road car when it couldn’t be further from the truth. You drive a shitty suv and think it’s some sort of off-road beast. I’m not the only person pointing this out. Funny that……

    • @Chase_Schrader
      @Chase_Schrader  Месяц назад +2

      Nawww, the community doesn't need your attitude. But while you're out here boosting my video's engagement, I'll keep driving my "shitty SUV" on the trails you claim aren't proper off-roading and having a great time doing it.
      And until you actually show show me why its not a great offroad build, I’ve got plenty of videos for you to check out. Maybe it'll change your mind... or give you more to complain about. Either way, thanks for watching! ❤️
