Legends of Wrestling is a professional wrestling video game based on the greatest wrestlers of all time, from WWF/WWE, NWA, WCW, ECW and various independent promotions. It was developed and produced by Acclaim. It was released in 2001 for the PlayStation 2, then in 2002 for the Nintendo GameCube and Xbox.

If memory serves me right, the entrances were designed to be interactive so the wrestler just walks until you press the taunt buttons
I heard about that too but I have never really tried it out... I usually don't press anything and they'll still taunt... Sometimes. Weird!
Fun Fact: This is the only game series to have all members of the Von Erich family: David, Kevin, Kerry, Mike & Fritz.

I just recently re bought this game, it's one of those games that people won't like at first but actually gets pretty fun the more you play it

Just a note: for legends of wrestling 2, the ps2 version lags A LOT! So if u review that version keep that in mind. Also I think that game is much better. Bigger roster, 4 attires, more responsive gameplay/ controls, better story mode and crisper visuals. It's still far from perfect but I have a lot of nostalgia playing the second game.

Once I got used to the controls, I actually enjoyed the hell out of this game.
It was the first one that I ever played that had a "create a logo" function. And I liked the way that the blood dripped down and covered the ring. I also love the roster.

The one thing I do have to praise about these games is the roster, the roster in each games are very organic as it spans mainly decades (but mainly focusing on 1980s). Heck I'll go out say that, the roster they used for each game are more vast than Legends Of Wrestlemania.

Luis Ferri It wasn't in an early demo it's actually one of the songs that made it into the full release of one of the legends of wrestling games.
I mean a early demo version of the Trapt song "Headstrong". In the video game, the song doesn't sound exactly the same as the 2003 release.

One of my first games on the PS2
I gotta say the roster has a very good selection of wrestlers from the 1980s and the early 1990s, though I would like to see a couple more wrestlers like Andre The Giant, British Bulldog and the Texas Tornado version of Kerry Von Erich but still it's a decent roster.

The roster is awesome
About the entrances where the wrestlers just walk and do nothing, you're supposed to press the D-Pad to perform different taunts.
Even though they’re were missing from the game I still enjoyed it especially the career mode and also while the announcer does the announcing for the names and the wrestlers you can taunt while he’s talking

Acclaim were great with entrances, i was amazed back in the day when i saw WWF Attitude
But it pretty much ended after N64.

I got this game along with a Playstation 2 for Christmas 2001. I was so happy! Everything seemed Good back then in my life. Anyways I enjoyed this game for a little while but realized soon it was pretty limited. I wanted it to be good but got bored after a couple weeks. It's definitely not the worst wrestling game though and it had potential.

I've never played this one, although I did enjoy LoW 2 a lot. The career mode looks great with the territories, but it sounds as though I may have dodged a bullet with this one

If you want to buy this game, I recommend the original Xbox version, because it has more arenas and the ability to use your own music.

wouldn't it be cool if this game was on pc and someone could mod this game by turning it into an ecw game by adding 2 of the other acclaims ecw games and just fix the control update the textures on the character models but keep the voices from the wrestlers shit would be crazy smh we can only dream

This game was originally supposed to be an ECW Game. Sabu was also included. But by the time they could continue it, ECW went out of business. I don't know why they didn't take out Van Dam and Sabu, maybe they were already put in the game and instead of trying to them out, they just were lazy and kept them in? Just my guess on how they were still in the final cut.
Another game I was bamboozled into, again because RVD! 😒😆 That being said, although gameplay was slow it had one of the most revolutionary features in pinning combinations and also one of my top moves ever, the mummy driver!

I do, but I usually play older games because of my schedule. I find it easier to pick up and play older games without having to invest too much time.

I remember I got this at a yard sale for 3 bucks along with backyard wreslting for ps2. It was an okay game but since it was a ps2 wrestling game I felt it was a disappointment. But this game is far better then backyard wrestling.
Those backyard wrestling games were crazy! I don't remember them being great but I do remember pulling off some pretty crazy stunts.
+NikateeN I will admit I was able to pull off so cool moves but it does feel a little broken. The A.I feels to overpowered even on easy and I really hate how when they throw an object its like a heat seeking missle. But overall its not thw worst thing ever made. I haven't played the sequel so maybe they made improvements.
