This was probably the best one... it was still simple and easy to play and had great graphics.
I grew up playing all the WWE games and it's weird to see just how much the series really hasn't advanced all that much in 10 years...
Yeah...I was hoping they do a complete overhaul of the 2K series with the next gen consoles, but nope...it's the same ole same ole. And there's also the fact that they have no competition when it comes wrestling games, so they're probably content releasing basically the same game every year.
Exactly! Personally, i'd much prefer if they found some sort of middle ground between arcade fun and simulation. I just find the pace of the gameplay above all else so boring in recent years.
It seems like they are moving back instead of forward, the older games are better

This is the first one that I ever owned on Christmas of 2007. I spent hours on this game and have to say this will forever be in the top ten on my list of wwe games. End of an era.

I must've played this more than HCTP because of title defenses in exhibition mode.
SVR2006 looks so much better then SVR2005 and it only came out a year before in 2005.
Hell it looks better then even some PS3/PS4 games.
I used to play the hell out this game as kid but never knew about that limo finisher. The one thing that did piss me off about this game was the fact it required a PSP in order to unlock Jake the snake.
I totally forgot about that yeah you had to have a psp to get Jake The Snake that sucked. I wasn't gonna run out buy one just for him. I wonder how that worked? Game save to usb of something? I still have the game if usb I can find it online.

AcePlays you can also turn off camera cuts. That helps with that.
Or just turn it off in the options...
This is it. This is where it all began for me. The year was 2005. The year my family and I were introduced to WWE as a whole and we became huge fans of it really quickly due to everything shown. Then later that same year, me and my brother got the brand new slim PS2 along with two games. Jaws Unleashed and of course this gem right here. This was the very first wrestling game I have ever played and I was blown away by everything. I even remembered the first ever match my brother ever did when we played first time. Chris Jericho Vs Christian in a normal 1v1 match at Vengeance. The amount of fun we had with this one was extraordinary, I wish I can relive those moments again. That’s why I miss this series so much. So many memories.
this was the best game in the series in my opinion and the one i played the most... still playing after a decade mostly due to the fact that the create a wrestler was perfect
I still have my SVR '06 copy I bought from Argos. The game came with a history of Wrestlemania 1-9 DVD which was exclusive to Argos. I still posess both to this day.
I've played SvR 2006 for a long time, I've never gotten the announce table camera angle though.

I loved playing as Muhammad Hassan. I also love that when you have Daivari as a manager, he yells during the match.

This game is so fun.
This was my favorite of the series, gameplay wise. Without all the mini games and other stuff the pack into the games today I had some amazingly realistic and well paced matches in this one. Plus GM mode was really fun
You forgot to mention the incredible songs they used for this game and 07/08, golden era for WWE games and my 3 fav games

To turn the finisher's special effects off, go into the game's options menu and select the option that says "Camera Cut" and turn Camera Cut from on to off.
when the slow motion shows just pause and return to the game

This game, was amazing lol bought a 2nd ps2 to plsy it wherever i traveled sigh so much nostalgia in this game. But DOR 2 was also good played both and enjoyed both.
Being that I was still very young around this time, Eugene was one of my favorite guys on the Raw roster. I had just gotten cable TV and aside from one time in 03 seeing HHH and Shawn Michael's come to a draw after finding Raw on in it's last few minutes and The Bottom Line after Madtv, that year was how I remember Raw. RA Era FaLife

Fun fact: When you win the WWE Championship, choose the Undisputed Title and go to Title Match mode, you can see the WWF scratch logo on the main plate.
This was my favorite game in the Smackdown vs Raw series. Too bad I lost my copy.
Awesome game. Just awesome. The features were on point, and the gameplay was for real. Absolutely incredible game. One of the best WWE games ever. 9.5/10.
The Buried Alive Match is older than Casket Buried Alive actually had it own PPV called WWF In Your House: Buried Alive. The Undertaker Vs Mankind (1996)

This game is memorable to me because it was the only one where I had the PS2 and PSP copies of the game. I was able to layeth the smackdown anywhere I wanted, such as school. It introduced GM mode which I really got into as well.

I never seen the 2 finisher parking lot finisher with the limo and truck animation before lol and I got the game when it first came out
They finally updated the outdated Chris Jericho from SvR. He looked dope in 06. Except the overall.
The earlier wrestling games are tons better than the ones for current gen consoles i find the controls too complex now.

No Mercy, Royal Rumble, SvR06 and HCTP are my fav WWF/E games.
I had the PSP version of this game and it was surprisingly very similar

06 is much better than 07. Whenever I played 07 it was much quicker to damage opponents especially on legend difficulty matches I played last from 4-6mins on one v one

Looking back I'm surprised the psp versions were on par with the console versions. Not much was cut (if anything at all) was cut from the psp versions as far as I remember.
