    I just bought my first vr headset a week ago. Did a lot of research before I got it. For software and support availabilty there's really no reason to get anything other than Meta. I would not suggest at all that someone get a Quest 2 now. The b/w passthrough would just be disappointing. Games are just going to run better on the 3/3s. And with that in mind sooner or later newer games just will be unplayable on the 2. So, it comes down to the 3 or 3s. And to me, there's really no good reason to get the 3s. Yes, the 3 and 3s have the same processor. But the difference in storage alone is easily worth the $200 extra in cost for the 3. Add on top of that the better resolution , the better lenses, inclusion of a stand alone depth sensor, the inclusion of an audio jack and the fact that it has a slimmer profile so it sits closer to your face all make it a no brainer. So, obviously, that's the one I chose. Like I said, I've had it a week. But, I'm totally blown away by it.

      Yep, it's a great device, but a lot of people buy these units and maybe play them a few hours a month or even every couple months. I have the Meta Quest 3, the 3s, and two meta quest 2's and despite the comments on this video, I STILL think the meta quest 2 is a great device if you are on a budget or even just unsure vr will be something you will get in to 100%. Obviously if you have the money to just spend and don't care then cool. But that's NOT MOST people.

      @@OMGItsDerek Oh, I get it about the money. I'm certainly not one that can spend without caring. That's why I did so much research. And money actually has a lot to do with my recommendation of getting the 3. I believe if someone new to vr gets the 2, they will like it and want the 3/3s for the reasons I stated. So then the money spent on the 2 would just be wasted. Then if someone gets the 3s, they will sooner or later run out of storage space and there's no way to upgrade that later. I strongly considered getting a lesser model before purchashing the 3 because of the price. I really didn't want to spend the $500. But when sat and thought about it, I truly believe this was actually the most economical way to go as it avoided me spending money (or at least be disappointed that I did) on the lesser model only to then want to get 3 in the end. Probably the best thing a new user could do is to try out a friend's, if you have that option, before buying.

    Bobovr VR M3 Pro Max and S3 Pro (Halo strap) are so much more comfortable than elite strap. A more comfortable headstrap can also help with motion sickness and both of these have a much longer lasting battery than most.
    Overall, great video!

      Thanks, yeah at the time I got it, there weren't many options. I have a few third-party straps for my Quest 2's and def need to pick one up for my Quest 3 now that there are some solid options. I've seen/heard of the Bobovr brand before, but I've mainly used KiWi products in the past! I will check out Bobovr tho, thanks!

    New to the channel, first video but have subscribed. Got a quest 3 a few weeks ago, immediately realise the standard strap was awful, now using bobovr s3 pro with 2 batteries

    Ok, for the price point, for where we are at this point in technology, the Quest 3 is pretty awesome. Get the Bobovr pro, get 2 battery bundle and pretty much continuously play.

      Yep for sure, my argument was never that the quest 3 wasn't worth it tech wise. But again, a lot of people buy these devices and then they sit on the shelf for 2 or 3 months at a time. I do agree with some of the comments that today the best option if you're brand new to vr would probably be the quest 3s, but I still think a quest 2 preowned can be bought for SOOOO cheap now it makes it a great entry headset still to this day!

    If you can't afford quest3 get the quest 3S.... the quest 2 is too old now!

      I still have two Meta Quest 2 headsets and use them regularly. They’re excellent devices outside of mixed reality (MR). I also have a Quest 3S, which is a fantastic device too. But in this economy, more people than you might realize are operating on tight budgets. That’s why I still think the Meta Quest 2 can be a great buy for many. If you have the money for the Quest 3 or 3s, then by all means, go for it. However, not everyone does, and some parents or others have to seriously consider what to get their kids. Choosing a Quest 3 might mean fewer gifts overall for the holiday season, where, in my opinion, that money could be better spent if you’re not even sure whether you or your child will fully dive into VR.

      @OMGItsDerek I had quest 1, 2 and 3, plus had the Valve Index.
      I was more thinking for someone who new to VR, would go in at the quest 3S, only because now games are already not being made for quest2, like the new Batman.

      @@OMGItsDerekI've got a 3 but still use my 2 with a silicone face cover for exercise apps. It's also great for sharing the experience with other people.

    I have the quest 2 and struggle playing fps games because picture on the lenses isnt clear and i have to tilt my head to get the right angle so i can see clearly. I heard the quest 3 shows the picture more clearer and im assuming i wont have to tilt my head as much

      Oh yes, the new lenses are much better. Also the quest 3s that just released may be a great upgrade from the quest 2 depending on your budget as a lot of others have stated in the comments.

    i would hope you would understand that you are not seeing from the cameras directly. the camera images are being processed before they get to the screen; that has a lot to do with the "fuzzyness". did meta oversell the passthrough....of course.

    • @OMGItsDerek
      @OMGItsDerek  16 дней назад

      Yep, I understand that completely, however, I'm not sure if the processed image is the issue or the cameras. I would argue it more has to do with the cameras than the processed image. Even 1080p 30fps live streams can look better than this at such a small bitrate.
