@@johndeer7142 , I bought it and cleaned it up because I could tell the owner didn't know what he had lol. He was in his late 30s using it as a daily get around bike. I asked him if he would sell it too, so I drove to the bank and gave him a ride to his girlfriend's lol.
I'm not sure if I'd sell it, other than alot of cleaning I had to replace the Gyro cables and front brake leaver that was missing. It has the GT style "piston" stem and a 3 spoke (very heavy) set of alloy rims, original seat and the whole bike is original except that one brake leaver. It's all chrome, some of the original stickers are still on it as well. Even the grips lol. Honestly not sure if I'd sell, my son and I just keep it as a wall hanger at this point.

Heat the crank arm with a blow torch.. or cooker then have another go, some gentle 'persuasion' with a hammer around the end of the crank arm before hand will also loosen the rust, if all else fails drill through the back of the pedal until you reach the threads & run a tap through it, hope this helps.

Hi, is the frame aluminum? I ask because its not the chrome that really degrades but the material underneath it, mine had rust coming through it from the steel frame, sounds like yours could be polished alloy, maybe lacquered or painted, car wheels often have the same problem. Obviously difficult to say without seeing it.

On the Dyno's frame I used stainless steel wire wool, often known as a stainless scourer - same things You might use for the household pots & pans, can be picked up in the household cleaning products section in the supermarket. The alloy parts I used 00 steel wire wool, which is much finer, often used for cleaning blued steel, such as the barrel of a gun etc. If Your chrome only has mild spots of rust etc. 00 wire wool would work fine.

I'm an older rider starting back after a 10 year break. This bike exceeds my capabilities and has been easy to get comfortable riding. I'm mostly on easy trails with almost no street riding and have not been disappointed with the performance of the bike. My fitness level is far below what I previously rode with and because of that the mileage is going on the bike slowly. While I'm losing weight slowly, the bike seems to tolerate my 220 pounds just fine. The bike has been used by several family members ranging from 5'5" - 5'9".
