Cool to see this! I got this Dyno in '89 I believe and it's been in my parents attic for the past 25yrs. Now that I have my own house/garage I need to ship it across the country so I can restore it.
Just flew home with the intention of shipping my Dyno to my current address......and discovered someone stole it. Really bummed. Hopefully whoever took it is treating her well. She was in amazing condition.
I have a 1988 Detour in my cellar all original I have the same black plastic on the GT gooseneck as well ad the cheese grater crank & even has the original reflectors and foot pegs ! Thanks for posting the video you just inspired me to go dig mine out. Mine is also red and white wish I knew how you got the rims so clean though...lol
I had a blue one as a kid. Those pretzel bars are where I developed a liking for my bars being on the same angle as the fork. My Brother was one of those guys that leaned his bars a bit forward, and it looked ridiculous to me😁!
Love the rebuild of this bike. The only thing I would have done different is, I wouldve used white brake levers instead of black. PS: please make more videos! Love your channel..
I got the blue and white Dyno compe 87 with mags for Christmas..to be honest...I was disappointed becuase it was heavy...I had a chrome early 80s Diamondback at the time I got Dyno..the DB rode awesome...I just assumed the Dyno would ride the same..but dang it was a world of difference..but i wanted the dyno so bad becuase everyone was getting GT etc. I felt bad becuase my parents got me dyno after wanting it so much..and I didnt really like it..looked good but thats it. I was a skinny kid and could whip around and jump easily on diamondback..but that dyno was so akward and heavy..I thought I would grow into it but didnt happen..
I'll be putting in some new bearings for my crank and wheels on my 96 gt dyno compe. I've had it since 96. I had a 94 dyno but i got jacked, i was a young kid. Maybe i'll run into that guy one day and remind him of that day.
I bought one on my birthday last month for 300 everything came original down to the inertubes rides so smooth

Excellent rebuild. Have Black Dyno frame considering a rebuild - have not looked into where to source the components.
