How much of this review did you watch? lol As I said in the video, I'm not familiar with the Fate franchise but still enjoyed this. I don't think it's super necessary to have any prior knowledge for Fate/EXTELLA Link :)
Its not connected _directly_ to extra/ccc. same setting (mooncell), different timeline. although if you play all extraverse game (except ccc due to its developer died before being localized) its _even better_ to have some level understanding of lore (if you _want_ even more of that you can search "extra & extella material").
@@WolfBetter the game? or the developer? the former is because ccc's theme is..not for _everyone_ (but it bring _a lot_ new more exposition, _even more_ than extra) , the latter is because its developer (imageepoch) liquified before the publisher (marvelous) have a chance to localized it.
Jay RPG damn, was actually really hoping you’d say no so I didn’t have to buy another game to my already ridiculous backlog, and I’ve already got the special edition of extella link so if they have a special edition for umbral Star then that’s the one I’ll have to get, my wallet is just a rotting corpse at this point
It picks up where The Umbral Star left off but for all intents and purposes it is it's own self-contained story. You can play Link first and play The Umbral Star as a prequel afterwards, or simply never play TUS at all. I don't think it's really necessary :)
Man I can’t lie out of all musou games I played even dynasty warriors fate link imo took the trophy. All characters are diffrent tons of skills the multi is fresh the specials are unique. Im loving it

I played the majority of it in handheld mode with virtually no issues whatsoever. I can only speak of my own experience, I finished the game, most of it in handheld mode, slowdown was incredibly rare and very specific, resolution and appearance was just fine too. Maybe 1 of the characters I didn't use causes issues? I don't know but I had absolutely no complaints, I was actually surprised at how well it ran.

Do the extra battles have some kind of "side stories" like the first game?
Oh and stupid question... is there a way to see each character moveset/combo list?
Wish they added sasaki kojiro or any samurai character
Okita, minamoto-no-Raikou, Ushiwakamaru, would have been great additions
Do i need to play the first games before going into this games to understand everything? Or should i skip it?
Technically this one is a sequel to The Umbral Star but it's more or less a self-contained story. I don't think it's necessary to play them in order.
Can I play this without playing or knowing anything about the fate franchise? This looks so good!
Well it's a sequel to Fate/Extella so storywise it's not bad to play the first one. BUT not sure at all I'm just in the beginning.
How much of this review did you watch? lol
As I said in the video, I'm not familiar with the Fate franchise but still enjoyed this. I don't think it's super necessary to have any prior knowledge for Fate/EXTELLA Link :)
@@JRPGGaming But the name says Extella so it's Extella story XD
Should i still buy this on ps4🤔
The over focus on multi soured the experience.Extella was on the right track with the my room events
How connetcted it is with the others fate/extra? I'm planning to marathon the whole series sooner or later.
Its not connected _directly_ to extra/ccc. same setting (mooncell), different timeline. although if you play all extraverse game (except ccc due to its developer died before being localized) its _even better_ to have some level understanding of lore (if you _want_ even more of that you can search "extra & extella material").
@@masuahmadin7511 thanks! what's the deal with ccc exactly?
@@WolfBetter the game? or the developer? the former is because ccc's theme is..not for _everyone_ (but it bring _a lot_ new more exposition, _even more_ than extra) , the latter is because its developer (imageepoch) liquified before the publisher (marvelous) have a chance to localized it.
Wait, so is link different from the umbral Star? Like is it a sequel or something?
Sequel, yes. :)
The map layout reminds me of samurai warriors state of war
So, is this a sequel to Umbral Star or a remake?
Sequel
@@JRPGGaming thanks!
Love this game
Charlemagne and Astolfo are my mains
Damn... should I get this or Orochi warriors?? 😰
Is this a direct sequel plot wise? Do i need umbral star to get whats going on?
It picks up where The Umbral Star left off but for all intents and purposes it is it's own self-contained story. You can play Link first and play The Umbral Star as a prequel afterwards, or simply never play TUS at all. I don't think it's really necessary :)
Dont need to and this game is much better then umbral star
I know I'm kinda late but
Can this game played without controller?
This is better off playing on docked than handheld
There is basically no difference other than resolution.
Did koei tecmo develop this game? Wish they do
Did you try its multiplayer at all?
Man I can’t lie out of all musou games I played even dynasty warriors fate link imo took the trophy. All characters are diffrent tons of skills the multi is fresh the specials are unique. Im loving it
Niawt Blaze And I thought Fire Emblem Warriors was the best, this blew it out of the water.
I'm all for the soundtrack as long as it doesn't have that god awful song from the first game Elizabeth sings in the first mission
story wise the original fate extella is much better keeping in mind that the original story is 6-7/10 in my opinion not to mention that the first game had a lot of fan service fate link single player feels rushed and lack luster .
I hope this is gonna be better than WO4
The anime of fate series are the best in style
Is their bonuses when you have a save from the previous title?
You get to unlock their bonus costumes in Umbral Star.
COUNTESS BATHORY !!
does the game look good portable? does it run worse? (i heard it does that's why im asking)
@@JRPGGaming ok tyvm. Really want to buy it cuz i had fun with the first one but the game was so lacking in content after being done with the story.
Hearing that it dipped rarely makes me happy.Enjoyed the review alot. Again Thanks for all the Information
Damn shoulda waited for link extella was ok but felt clunky and meh this looks better
0:22 from which Game is the Girl in the black dress?
What was those first couple games in the beginning before the intro
Fate/EXTELLA Link?
@@JRPGGaming oh unaware lol
gameplay wise yeah
but the story extella link is simple and feel unfinished so rushed.
The story was really uninspired. Umbral Star was so good and this felt more Gameplay heavy. Still had a great time but it wasn't as memorable.
@@casey8040 agreed the gameplay is really improved by lot margin, but the story is so idk like they didnt bother to try harder to make the story part. If im not fan of fate series i wouldnt buy this at full price tbh.
With what Anime show does this tie into?
VN1X
Gigguk MIGHT have the answer to that?
ruclips.net/video/wnVwcUhxt1k/видео.html
I've decided to opt for this instead and then watch the anime's after. Yay or nay?:
lparchive.org/Fatestay-night/Update%2001/
Doesn't really tie into anything since it's one of the few fate games that's clearly less focussed on the story.
OG fate stay night in particular has very little to do with this.
Not that I don't generally recommend it.
Edit: That gigguk video is pretty funny but will definitely not answer your question
Please im begging you please tell me if i can download this on mobile and where
The reason why this so called game is so good, is because I'm in it you mongrels.
How’s the multiplayer?
Unfortunately this was all pre-release so I didn't get an opportunity to check out multiplayer.
Me picking this up on my vita
