My thought on the game is mostly good, not the best thing in the world like some would pretends though, the main draw would be the cutscenes, story and characters, the fact it's also a love letter to Epic of Remnant: Shimousa from Fate/Grand Order is a pretty good thing (i loved Shimousa personally), the combat in other hand is not it's strongest point, i'm a fan of musou games but i'm having mixed feelings, EXTELLA LINK felt more impressive on this aspect in my opinion, it's also pretty similar to Visual Novel with a lot of your usual pretentious dialogues (that's Kinoko Nasu for you) and info dumping, as a Fate fan since 2004 i have no problem with that personally. As a whole it plays a lot like the old Yakuza/Ryu Ga Gotoku games (especially during the exploration of the towns) but with less depth than those, unfortunatly the combats feels like a Musou though since KT/Omega Force have the habit to re-use old assets from their older games so it can feel a bit clunky/floaty with a lack of weight, you play mostly as Iori and Saber, the rogue servants are just some "summons" you'll get to use for a limited time but that's it, greatly disappointed by that to be honest. If you're fan of the IP and enjoy the Musou gameplay, i recommand it, if you despise Musou gameplay, stay away from it since that's mostly what it is, the only difference with your usual Musou, it's that Samurai Remnant isn't about taking control of the battlefield (that's more EXTELLA shticks). Well, that's it i guess? now that KT has the right to use Fate IP, i wish they would go for the usual traditional Musou game like Hyrule Warriors, at least, it would let us control most servants with no time limit, the biggest regret i have concerning Samurai Remnant.

I mean, BG3, Starfield, FF16 (it's a disappointment for many but it's still a big release), Hogwarts Legacy (which was surely one of the most anticipated mainstream games), Armored Core 6 and Sea of Stars are already available. Same for Lies of P and the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion. So what's left? Spider-Man 2 and AC Mirage for the general public and possibly the next Yakuza? That's not that many "bangers" coming before 2024 imho.
@@GilgaMax305I'll be playing and I'm not hardcore fan looks really good love the time period and anime style hearing good things from people I know that own it.
Unfortunatly, if you have a base PS4, the game is a technical mess and crash a lot (you'll get a good lot of the same error code), i heard the PS4 pro had less problems but wasn't that great either, so i'd say it would be better to wait for a price drop and the release of the latest updates. As of now, i'm afraid the PS5 version is certainly the one version which has less problems, even the Switch version is pretty terrible, especially handheld.
@@eireiemiya4136 I already got the game and it plays fine, I have 15 hours of progress and I haven't encountered any bugs or crashes, the graphics for cut scenes and combat look fine although open world looks kinda goofy sometimes, either way it's playing very smoothly
You're lucky then, still i'm glad you can fully enjoy the game since it has a pretty good story (not on par with EXTRA but still better than EXTELLA). My game has been giving me the same error code over and over, it's the first time i had a game crashing like this, a shame since i really wanted to continue playing, the last crash i had was when we confront Chiemon/Lancer for the second time, it happened during a cutscene so there was no auto-save... i guess i'll have to wait for an update because i don't feel like starting over right now.@@E.m.Em1ya
I was always interested in this game but I'm not a hardcore Fate fan as I only watched the anime years ago... So not sure if I should play this without much knowledge about the series. I do want to eventually get around to playing this and also dive into the series as a whole. Also, whatever happened to the Fate/Extra Remake?
Considering how long ago the Tsukihime Remake plans were initially brought up versus when it actually became real (and even then we only have half the routes right now)...I wouldn't hold my breath on the F/E remake if I were you. Type Moon do be like that sometimes. And well, as the review itself points out this is a time period/setting the series has otherwise never really touched. Though some of the servants involved are clearly recognizable from other works, with the way summoning mechanics work in this universe it's not like they'll have any memories of their other appearances to speak of. Well, Musashi should, her circumstances are complicated, but at least it sounds like her role is well written here and isn't just empty fanservice.
I watched Blade Unlimited Works and the one before. Not a hardcore fan myself, but I loved Fate/Extella Link. I don't remember the story being too annoying, because I loved the gameplay and challenged myself to clear levels as fast as I can. It was fun zooming through the levels and killing hundreds of enemies. In another review it was mention the game does give a little more depth to bosses, so you might need to adapt a little. Anyway, I will check initial Steam reviews, but the artstyle looks refreshing enough for me to consider buying the game.
ruclips.net/video/gB7fsnN4G3E/видео.htmlsi=zmA6Gx9cU7XJ1sHw They are also videogame reviewers, smaller in scale. I found them because a youtuber I watched was affiliated.
Never played a fate game.. This looks like alot of fun though, I'm gonna give it a try 👍🏻 Also, are my eyes deceiving me, or is Miyamoto Musashi a waifu in this universe?? 😂😂😂
She's from the mobile game Fate/Grand Order actually, a female incarnation of Musashi Miyamoto in an alternate universe (not SR one though), she has become pretty popular since the release of Epic of Remant: Chapter 3 known as "Shimousa", the reason they used her in this is mostly because Samurai Remnant is supposed to be a love letter to that specific chapter.
@@NoisyPixelNews But you can probably skip, right? I don't remember much of Fate Extella Link except for the fun gameplay. I don't think I was 2 annoyed by Extella story.
Thanks for the replies. I think i am okay with the story heavy but just worried if i needed to have a lot knowledge about fate. Sounds like the story is okay for newcomer.
My only complain about it is the fact of having a fixed Server and the obsessive love for "always a saber" plot. Because of that Fate/Extra still is my all time favorite Fate game, besides The 1st Stay Night on PC.
The narrative requires New Game +. It's 2023 and this year is absolutely stuffed to the rafters with meaty games already and more upcoming. I just can't with a game that will require two playthroughs to get the true ending.
@@adamhobbs8775 100 hours for a completionist run of what looks like a non-open world game? That's a positive to me. Too many open world games nowadays are wide as an ocean and deep as a puddle.

@@GilgaMax305I know this may sound like a troll but my question is honest: what upcoming games do you call bangers?
Can someone tell me if it runs well on ps4 or if the graphics are shit on it, there are no reviews for the ps4 version
Really dated graphics, but I love the premise and locations
sike
Anyway, I will check initial Steam reviews, but the artstyle looks refreshing enough for me to consider buying the game.
the reason it's taking so long is because it's the first game internally developed by studio BB, type-moon's new studio.
any word on HDR or Ultrawide support?
Can i play this game with no knowledge on the fate series? it just looks fun and i wanna play it
Yes
You and Niche Gamer released videos about this game at the same time. Was it a review embargo?
Who is niche gamer?
ruclips.net/video/gB7fsnN4G3E/видео.htmlsi=zmA6Gx9cU7XJ1sHw
They are also videogame reviewers, smaller in scale. I found them because a youtuber I watched was affiliated.
Never played a fate game.. This looks like alot of fun though, I'm gonna give it a try 👍🏻
Also, are my eyes deceiving me, or is Miyamoto Musashi a waifu in this universe??
I'm looking forward to this game but the prices in my region are a real setback.
why is it so hard for acquire to get the hint? where is way of the samurai 5 ughhh
The game feels late ps2 era gameplay, which is a good thing. I love it so far
what ps2 games are like this?
@@kidrobot. not graphics
@@shaolinsnake9650 yeah i know. which games are like this in gameplay
Is this game story heavy? I don't have any knowledge about fate but i am interested with the gameplay.
Story heavy but I think it's newcomer friendly
Yes it has a lot of story scenes but this is technically an original story.
Can the menus be switch to Japanese?
It will come to pc?
yes
Already available on steam i think
is astolfo in the game?
is the game voice acted?
The narrative requires New Game +. It's 2023 and this year is absolutely stuffed to the rafters with meaty games already and more upcoming. I just can't with a game that will require two playthroughs to get the true ending.
Is gilgamesh on this???
He's in but not playable.
Is this game fully voice-acted? Also, is there an English dub?
There's is no English dub Japanese sub. Only with English subtitles
Wild Hearts died for this. It better be fucking worth it.
Is there a post game or just the main story
There is post game that adds more side stories to the characters yeah
@@MrInuhanyou123 thax I'm just worried cos recent Omega force games have had ether no or crap post story content
GOT EXCELLENT OPTIONS ON GRAPHICS PREFERENCE
I want to buy it so bad but I really hate Musou games. I can’t stand Extella even as a die hard Fate fan. Might give this a try after a good discount.
this is when Avatar and Samurai X got married and had kids
There's no romance in the game so I'm not getting it 😞 it's a shame cuz I was really forward to it too, thought it would be like saber route
One question i have is how long is this game since he says a lot of stuff about the game plus
The developers said it will take you about 100hrs to complete everything. So you will definitely get your money's worth.
@@adamhobbs8775 100 hours for a completionist run of what looks like a non-open world game? That's a positive to me. Too many open world games nowadays are wide as an ocean and deep as a puddle.
@@adamhobbs8775 ok thx I was worried it’s going’s to be a 10h game
could i play this game without watching fate or reading it?
Yes.
Yes but alot of the references will not make sense without some Fate lore knowledge like the Clocktower or certain characters. Also the game is very story driven and in the beginning half and if you don't like those type of game then Fate may not be for you as the game has quite a lot of reading if you can endure it get good.
Fate just save me From Dai LOL
Poor Dai :(
I'm having fun with Dai so far. Don't fully go off reviews.
is this on pc?
