Awesome. I buy XSEED games anyway because I like to support them (I admire their anti-censorship stance), but it's great to hear it's a good game either way. :)
Yeah, and when they do a special/limited edition, the bonuses are always substantial. Not some superfluous in-game gimmick you'll probably never use (Activision and EA, for example).
lerigan 100% agree with you. Their limited or special editions arent that pricey and you receive good stuff, for example this one. EA and Activision just add an exclusive dlc or the stupid season pass, something that I really dont care about. Xseed are doing a great job, will definitely continue supporting them.
Yeah, they're definitely a class act. It's one of the few companies who seem to genuinely care for their customers. Glad to have met a fellow fan of their work. Feel free to add me on PSN if you want (same username: Lerigan).
Ended up picking this up and definitely have had a great time with it. Definitely a lot of fun trying out the various characters and of course they only get more fun as you level them and get more combos. Normally not much for the Dynasty Warriors style of game, but had plenty of fun with this one. Didn't hurt either with the large amount of story they had for this. I actually had fun just going through it and experiencing the story. Obviously it's a pretty subjective thing, but I thought the story worked for this one and really added to the value. After getting to play quite a bit I definitely agree on the various points regarding the gameplay itself. And in the end it is a fun game. May end up playing a few other games, but can probably keep coming back to this one just to continue unleashing crazy hell upon the enemies.
Not a chance. That one never finishes a game ever, doesn't test difficulties like Karik and gets stuff wrong constantly. Used to follow them until i found out all that after some of the reviews didn't make sense. Bad advice.
Fate Extella the Umbral Star plays like Dynasty warriors. However, this game is much faster, it has a much more vibrant color palette and the combat is faster and more stylish thanks to the use of special effects and particle effects during combat that cause colors to fly all over the screen. It does have a simplistic combat system which is true for games such as this and that's fine with me. The characters themselves are quiet interesting and having 20 of them to choose from is impressive. I do plan on buying this game after watching your stellar review. Thanks Karak!
So glad you reviewed this game, I wasn't sure if I wanted to purchase it or not. Thank you for always staying on top of the market even with these smaller games.
I hope they later add a dubbed voice cast later on as an optional feature. That'd be nice. Especially if the characters' voice actors from their respective anime series reprise their roles.
Really happy to hear this was good think im gonna pick it up in a few weeks i gotta hold out for Yakuza 0 which im hoping youll be reviewing once everyone is allowed to post reviews of it.
Man thanks for the review. I preordered this game but I was not sure if I was going to like it. Now after watching the review , I'm pretty excited to play the game
Arthur Wild Bro if they don't come out with Persona 5 soon then I am going to shoot up Atlas headquarters, at least if they pushed it back, it was probably to make it perfect, which it better be.
Slow and possibly ignorant, but not lazy. I think it's rather disrespectful that they were completely unable to translate the game while working on it. They seriously only started translating the game, after they have finished and released it.
Aaahh, nice 215k subscribers man! You are finally getting some of the renown you deserve, I joined up around 20k and really rooted for you! Great review as always :)
The fate series is not in my radar until I stumbled upon with this game I was like "oh shit this game is so colourful and the combat is pretty fast and furious too" so I decided to watch the entire fate series anime before I buy this game since I need the understanding of the fate universe , about the holy grail war, masters and servants, etc. I'm already aware that fate extella is a continuation of the psp fate extra but oh well.
Ya I bought the noble phantasm edition with all the nice extras, totally worth it as I fell in love with the fate series. Though I ust say im quite surprised, din't figure this was your cup of tea.
subbed, great review nice mix if humour and review wouldn't mind if the vid was longer but Loved it regardless, probably gonna binge some vids, Can't wait for the Berserk review
Considering this is a follow to a spinoff RPG to visual novel. It does pretty well, considering the fancy we never got Fate Extra CCC in the west, so people who don't wiki stuff will be 'Wait who is that chic with the demon wings?' I think it's enjoyable, now all we need is a few more sequels with more characters.
Killer review. If I was a fan of the Fate series or the game was a little cheaper this would be a day one purchase for me because this looks like a colorful DW on crack aha. I love it.
After watching a bunch of reviews that are just some guy talking into the camera with a lot of "um"s and random self-contradictions, lacking script or focus, opening a Karak review is a relief.
Hoping you guys review Fate/Extella Link, a side-story to Umbral Star. Massive improvement in terms of gameplay IMO, but I'd love to know what you think.
Fate Extella looks like a Re-skin for Senran Kagura Estival Versus (makes sense, same developer). And That's a good thing. Because Senran Kagura is great. Let's see if I'll get Fate Extella soon (Just got Senran Kagura, so maybe not so soon)
spotthespy little quality comprise, the FPS is obviously lower but you still feel like your zooming in the game anyways. Plus its not afraid to do some close ups formits graphics, which are very decent for the vita.
A bit late, but: There are a lot less mooks on screen at once, and the character models are less smooth (giving Assassin something of a small beak from certain angles), but they balanced the gameplay enough and kept the overall graphical fidelity high enough that I'm honestly surprised at how close it felt when I switched between the Vita and PS4 versions via Cross-Saving. The one cut corner that I can't comprehend the reasoning behind, however, is the title screen. On the PS4, it show's a rear view of the MC, your current main Servant and all her generals standing in a line facing some sort of cool background. On the Vita, which could easily handle what is basically a barely animated GIF (I don't think that anything but Jeanne D'Arc's flag moves at all), for some reason it's just the MC and your current main Servant, flanked by her general's signature weapons buried in the ground next to them, facing the same pretty backgrounds. Jeanne's flag still flutters when it's present, and everything! It's just such a weird decision.
Will you review the upcoming Berserk game for PS4 & Vita ? Watching the gameplay of the Japanese release already available doesn't make it attractive, even though Berserk is an excellent manga in my opinion.
If I can get the copy. This is always a good time to nicely remind the company on twitter that I exist and you would like to see me review it by the way.
I wonder how many people still dont know that fate was based off of an ero game with h scenes. Then the creators realized they had something on their hands and made a legit anime and games out of it.
Any chance you will be reviewing Tales of Berseria and/or Gravity Rush 2? I didn't expect you to do a review for Fate but thanks for the reviews as always :D
I am sorry but I preferred the jrpg version of this that I actually enjoyed a lot. And this was nothing like the strategy that takes place in the anime.
Great review as always! I just got the noble phantasm edition and I'm personally enjoying it! I'm pretty new to musou games though, my first was just Hyrule Warriors, and I only dabbled in it a bit, but I always thought it was fun! I love Fate, so this was pretty much an instant buy for me!
Just glad To See these hitting international audiences. Japan has always tended to tread carefully and not want the hassle of dealing with some of our more abusive media types and reactions.
Good review! I was expecting to pick this up, but glad to hear how it turned out. Mostly since I actually did pick up the Fate/Extra handheld game and this is basically continuing that story. The one thing I was worried about was whether there'd be enough story focus, but nice to hear they went pretty heavy on that. Just looks fun. At least sounds like it when it can be described with comparisons like a cartoon rocket on a rocket, on a rocket. Or summoning neutron stars onto enemies XD. Will definitely be picking this up.
Would love this on the PC, I enjoy these kinds of games once in a while, just mindless fun, played all the DW games on the PC too. Hope XSeed bring this to the PC, they did with other games
nostalgiatrip1 Plus, you can get Fate/Extra (but not Extra CCC, unfortunately) on the Vita as well, so you can see the main character and Saber/Caster develop towards the lovey-dovey-ness they display from the start of this game.
If you like this game you can if interested follow the universe in which it takes place, called "Type Moon", novels and anime. Very good franchise and its lore is intriguing :) P.S. thanks for the review ACG.
Hodel Ngasu Yes as a Fate fan then you should definitely get it. Considering you are also a DW fan then you should also get it. I would say from the look I could already tell Dynasty warrior is already little bit better but I think you could get around it.
I have never played a Fate game or really know much about it, but I'm a die-hard Musou/Warriors fan so I was really interested in this game when it got a Switch port. Been looking for new Switch games and this looks perfect to tide me over for Fire Emblem Warriors. I wasn't sure how much I would like it considering I know nothing about Fate but this video really helps! And the GUI looks SICK!!!
Wow, first video I've seen from this reviewer and I must say I am really impressed. It was objective and fair but also had great humor and wit. Usually I find these two categories of traits to be mutually exclusive with reviewers, but not in this case. So you sir earned yourself a sub.
Oh Dang!! This is Dynasty Warriors gameplay!!! those are my favorite games. I went nuts when they made Dyanasty Warriors Gundam, and based it off of Zeta Gundam.. now someone made FATE in that style?!?! I’m going to the store right now
Nice. My girlfriend loves the cathartic release of these musou games. The anime style is a definite plus for her as well. Thanks for the review/heads up. Does this count as the first quality PS4 release of the year then?
I think im gonna get this game, $50 on amazon for a special edition with prime, thats a hella good price, its gonna be my first “fight mobs of mobs” game so i hope i like it, thx for the good review
ACG this is a really good review. Well done. You helped me make the final decision for this game. I'm picking it up for the Nintendo Switch. If you order through Amazon Prime you get a $12 savings. Also, I like how you asked for a thumbs down if people don't like the video lol. Thought it was funny cause thumbs downs still count as interaction. Thumbs up & a subscribe from me.
I may have a stupid question, but can I buy this game even when I don't know the anime? I LOVE Samurai, One Piece Pirate & Dynast Warriors-Esque gameplay + the menue skill design reminds me of the design from Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth. :)
No such thing as an anime. The Fate/Zero and Fate Stay Night (UBW or previous) are all set in a different location with... sort of similar characters? It's complicated. Just know this: there is no anime yet, the anime for Fate Extra will come out later this year. There's no need for backstory since one of the games hasn't been translated yet (if ever) so this one should be seen as a standalone. If you're curious, read a synopsis of Fate Extra and Fate Extra CCC and you're golden.
Man you can really sell a game can't you? I have already watched both stories in the anime, Fates Zero and Fate Stay Night, but was unsure about the game in itself. I don't think this is a day one for me due to Yakuza 0, I hope you're reviewing that one as well. Will pick up Fates though when things calm down a bit. Do you have any information on how the Vita Port runs?
This looks awesome, I wish these games were two player at the same time, tell me that wouldn't be fun, and don't you DARE actually tell me it wouldn't, cause you know it would!
Never heard of this series the truth be told (I live in Ireland) but looking at this game it looks very nice. I'll have to give this a try I think and the story even though somewhat bizarre it's also interesting.
Well you might be happy to know (or uninterested, dunno) that one of main-ish characters of Fate is Cu Chulainn who makes an appearance in this game too. So does King Arthur and Gawain if you're into that.
This game looks like it could be pretty fun. I'm always down for some Dynasty Warriors-esque games. Sadly I've got way too many other games to play right now to even consider buying it, maybe sometime this summer or something.
The enemies can actually hurt you? That's my issue with most of these games. I understand you're meant to be a death dealing machine, but the enemies in say the DW games never presented any challenge.
I'm confused. Isn't the Nasuverse supposed to be some kind of dark modern fantasy? Like, _Harry Potter_ meets _True Detective_ by way of _Hunger Games_ or something. I know it has expanded over the years, but... what has led it to this Tron-like Dynasty Warriors setup? How is this in the same universe as the _Garden of Sinners_ movies?
Extra isn't in the same universe. Same multi-verse, but not the same universe. It takes place in a parallel story where magic basically died off and everything took a more technological focus with Mages basically becoming hackers instead iirc. I really didn't understand Extra's backstory all that much. That's basically what I picked up though.
there are some sluggish mechanics and moves, but i really like the game.there are only 3 things i really dont like:some annoying enemys(especially flying enemys),you cant switch code casts in fights so the traps feel like gimmicks and the balance is off at times(its easier to beat the first finalboss on very hard than to beat some regular maps a bit underleveled).one minur problem i have is reused content since the sidestorys are too short to be that engaging and they only have reused assets shuffled around,so they arent unique either.i appreciate their inclusion tho since 80% of them tie into the lore of the game.....oh boi,the lore.thats one hell of a pluspoint to counteract those minuspoints.this was literally my first fate/ which i only even bought because the guys in the miiverse told me "eh,you like hyrule warriors.there will be that warriorsgame on the switch that isnt made by koei.you should probably check that out" and the game explained everything well enough that i had a basic understanding of what is going on even tho i didnt even know there was any continuity before the game and it actually made that "moon holy grail war" sound really epic,so i was really interessted in extra.....yet extra has to be the most boring war i have ever seen.anyways, thats just a great thing if a game is able to present a series and its characters of a non-game series(it has other games, but its mostly a storymedium-series that ranges from lightnovels to anime) so well
I adore the Fate series, and picked this game up for that reason alone and honestly I like it, it's a ton of fun.
At least fans of Fate/Extra get some kind of sequel here in the states after CCC was never localized.
heard this is getting another game and it replaces the fate extra canon.
I'm not the biggest fan of how Extella handled Nero and Tamamo. But, I still very much enjoyed playing it, especially as a fanboy of the franchise.
Awesome. I buy XSEED games anyway because I like to support them (I admire their anti-censorship stance), but it's great to hear it's a good game either way. :)
lerigan me too, plus they are one of the few that still adding full color instruction manuals.
Glad to have met a fellow fan of their work. Feel free to add me on PSN if you want (same username: Lerigan).
I'm in the same category of loving XSeed games. I haven't been let down yet.
Ended up picking this up and definitely have had a great time with it. Definitely a lot of fun trying out the various characters and of course they only get more fun as you level them and get more combos. Normally not much for the Dynasty Warriors style of game, but had plenty of fun with this one.

Man Glitch #409 in 2017. Totally didn't even finish the false lead for the Rocket comment.
Sigh.
I think we'll be able to muster the courage to survive this.
Jamie Holmes agreed
Hey dude, WothABuy just called you out on this review and is basically implying your reviews are garbage. ruclips.net/video/EJljReFpEOk/видео.html
This review was funny as hell. Gonna pick this up soon, keep up the great work ACG.
thanks Eric
Not a chance. That one never finishes a game ever, doesn't test difficulties like Karik and gets stuff wrong constantly. Used to follow them until i found out all that after some of the reviews didn't make sense. Bad advice.
tod tanker oh wait, this guy deleted my comment? LOL haha
Fate/Stay Night anime and VN was pretty much my firt foray into the weeb world
unlimited budget works ufotable is mine :D seriously fate zero was the first i was into then the other ufotable ones
the 1st step into chuuni/ edgy weeabo shit
hendrik sunarto Nice buzzwords. Learned those from 4chan?
My first was Death Note but Fate/Zero is my favorite show ever.
while not my first it was definitely early on for me and has become my all time favorite franchise.
I'm supposed to be playing Fate/Extella, but this one servant keeps kicking my ass.
embraceyourinner tophat I think he's referring to the legend27 line 😂
embraceyourinner tophat theumbralstar27

So glad you reviewed this game, I wasn't sure if I wanted to purchase it or not. Thank you for always staying on top of the market even with these smaller games.

Looks like this game is a seizure waiting to happen.
You have no idea.
I hope they later add a dubbed voice cast later on as an optional feature. That'd be nice. Especially if the characters' voice actors from their respective anime series reprise their roles.
Here have a sub. Keep it up bro
thanks man
Really happy to hear this was good think im gonna pick it up in a few weeks i gotta hold out for Yakuza 0 which im hoping youll be reviewing once everyone is allowed to post reviews of it.
Man thanks for the review. I preordered this game but I was not sure if I was going to like it. Now after watching the review , I'm pretty excited to play the game
thanks!
I was only mildly interested in this until I saw I could go on dates and make Tamamo my waifu.
I appreciate the well-contructed review, your english is easy to understand, too. Thanks!
Woot been waiting for your review on this one! Excellent as always! I really love your volume/ overall audio on your vids.
Thanks!
Will you be reviewing gravity rush 2 at some point? As I'm interested in it but wanted to hear your thoughts first. And great review as always man
Sorry jamie i wont no
ACG
Ah okay no worries
dont worry we know its going to be good anyway lol
...what?
no need for that. Just BUY it :))
Atlus called. They want their Persona 4 ui back.
If they are calling tell them I want to play Persona 5 already!
You and me both.
Arthur Wild Bro if they don't come out with Persona 5 soon then I am going to shoot up Atlas headquarters, at least if they pushed it back, it was probably to make it perfect, which it better be.
Section8dc is been out in Japan since September, they just being lazy
Slow and possibly ignorant, but not lazy. I think it's rather disrespectful that they were completely unable to translate the game while working on it. They seriously only started translating the game, after they have finished and released it.
Aaahh, nice 215k subscribers man! You are finally getting some of the renown you deserve, I joined up around 20k and really rooted for you! Great review as always :)
thanks
is this channel new or something? how the heck does it only have 225k subs? these are some of the best in depth video reviews i have ever seen!
I'm already aware that fate extella is a continuation of the psp fate extra but oh well.
yep enjoy man. Its a unique world
In just under 12 minutes you have described this game perfectly. I think I'm gonna like this channel (subbed).
Ya I bought the noble phantasm edition with all the nice extras, totally worth it as I fell in love with the fate series. Though I ust say im quite surprised, din't figure this was your cup of tea.
My God ACG. Your review dialogue is hilariously awesome!
the thing that I like about ACG is that he is actually well informed about the game that he is reviewing
Thanks
subbed, great review nice mix if humour and review wouldn't mind if the vid was longer but Loved it regardless, probably gonna binge some vids, Can't wait for the Berserk review
thanks
Considering this is a follow to a spinoff RPG to visual novel. It does pretty well, considering the fancy we never got Fate Extra CCC in the west, so people who don't wiki stuff will be 'Wait who is that chic with the demon wings?' I think it's enjoyable, now all we need is a few more sequels with more characters.
Is there gonna be review for link coming out tonight?
Killer review. If I was a fan of the Fate series or the game was a little cheaper this would be a day one purchase for me because this looks like a colorful DW on crack aha. I love it.
Subscribed, appreciate your opinions and your rating system is awesome. ")
I hope they add some character in future, maybe like sasaki kojiro, heracles and Lancelot
lancelot is in the sequel coming this winter
This whole game looks like Karna's final noble phantasm in Apocrypha.
"UPS' new speed... Death!" I laughed at this and will be my new way of saying I'm going at full speed.
Great review! Are you planning to review Tales of Berseria?
Great review, as always! A little question: Does it have any kind of online multiplayer?
After watching a bunch of reviews that are just some guy talking into the camera with a lot of "um"s and random self-contradictions, lacking script or focus, opening a Karak review is a relief.
Might get it on vita, looks good!
Karak is the best. So many reviews. Reliable and consistent opinions, it's great.
thanks Dynamite
so happy you reviewed this thanks!
you bet
Mr.ACG, do you think you will do game review on Nier:Automata when it release?
They informed me I have a copy for review so ya
I was on the fence for this game, but now I think I might buy it. Thanks for the video review!
the sequel is coming this winter on ps4 if i recall it right
Hoping you guys review Fate/Extella Link, a side-story to Umbral Star.
Daakkuu Sama Despite the perviness that is a great game
I've heard that it plays and feels more like the Musou games from KT.
Not same dev actually.
This was Type-Moon and Marvelous.
Marvelous only publishes Senran Kagura, it's developed by Tamsoft.
.... well I would enjoy neros clothes getting ripped off... but sadly no, it really isnt.
Edit: great review Karak, thanks for reviewing it.
Any thoughts on the Vita version? Did you manage to get a copy?
spotthespy little quality comprise, the FPS is obviously lower but you still feel like your zooming in the game anyways. Plus its not afraid to do some close ups formits graphics, which are very decent for the vita.
A bit late, but:
There are a lot less mooks on screen at once, and the character models are less smooth (giving Assassin something of a small beak from certain angles), but they balanced the gameplay enough and kept the overall graphical fidelity high enough that I'm honestly surprised at how close it felt when I switched between the Vita and PS4 versions via Cross-Saving.
The one cut corner that I can't comprehend the reasoning behind, however, is the title screen. On the PS4, it show's a rear view of the MC, your current main Servant and all her generals standing in a line facing some sort of cool background. Jeanne's flag still flutters when it's present, and everything!
It's just such a weird decision.
Sometimes I get all the enjoyment I need from a game just by watching ACG reviews, we love you Karak - never change (unless it's for the better).
Will you review the upcoming Berserk game for PS4 & Vita ?
Watching the gameplay of the Japanese release already available doesn't make it attractive, even though Berserk is an excellent manga in my opinion.
If I can get the copy. This is always a good time to nicely remind the company on twitter that I exist and you would like to see me review it by the way.
thanks for the review, gonna get it for the switch
i want to pick it up for the switch has your experience been so far?
you are the best youtube game reviewer atm , keep up the great work .
thanks
thanks for the review, it gave me a good idea on if/when I'm going to grab this game for myself ^^
you bet
I wonder how many people still dont know that fate was based off of an ero game with h scenes. Then the creators realized they had something on their hands and made a legit anime and games out of it.
I did know lol. And is an unique case were they turned ero into decent anime lol.
So, you were comparing it to other games in its genre, but which genre were you comparing it to: other visual novels, or other Dynasty Warriors games?
Any chance you will be reviewing Tales of Berseria and/or Gravity Rush 2? I didn't expect you to do a review for Fate but thanks for the reviews as always :D
Fate/Extra gets no love I'm disappointed :(((
Blancvis just emulate it.
Fate Extra is way better than this in my opinion. It's much more like what Fate is about.
I am sorry but I preferred the jrpg version of this that I actually enjoyed a lot. And this was nothing like the strategy that takes place in the anime.
Lol 4:10 can't have a Dynasty Warrior type game without Lu Bu himself.
Ya its not bad. Not a classic but overall very fun
By far the funniest review I have seen in awhile thanks man
thanks bradles
Just glad To See these hitting international audiences. Japan has always tended to tread carefully and not want the hassle of dealing with some of our more abusive media types and reactions.
Over the last few years it's been made pretty apparent that Fate does have a lot of fans in the West so TM seems more up to letting it cross borders.
Excelent review as always my man. Are you planning on reviewing Stardew Valley? I'm waiting for your opinion before buying it!
Thanks bro
thanks
Good review!
I was expecting to pick this up, but glad to hear how it turned out. Mostly since I actually did pick up the Fate/Extra handheld game and this is basically continuing that story. The one thing I was worried about was whether there'd be enough story focus, but nice to hear they went pretty heavy on that.
Just looks fun. At least sounds like it when it can be described with comparisons like a cartoon rocket on a rocket, on a rocket. Or summoning neutron stars onto enemies XD.
Will definitely be picking this up.
thanks Flare!
Would love this on the PC, I enjoy these kinds of games once in a while, just mindless fun, played all the DW games on the PC too. Hope XSeed bring this to the PC, they did with other games
ya they can be such a relaxer
Is this a action game or a action rpg?
This game is also available on the Vita and is made by the same devs of the Senran Kagura games that play like this and is also on the Vita.
nostalgiatrip1

Bro, very entertaining vid. Well done.
So, is it worth getting for Fate-fans? (such as myself), I did enjoy playing the old Dynasty Warrior style games back in the Ps2 era.
Hodel Ngasu depends on how much of a Fate fan you are.
Hodel Ngasu Yes as a Fate fan then you should definitely get it. Considering you are also a DW fan then you should also get it. I would say from the look I could already tell Dynasty warrior is already little bit better but I think you could get around it.
Thank you.
LOVE your review style! Hehe.
I find it somewhat frustrating during the early levels, but i like this game.
Need a new joystick for "button smash purpose", doe.
thanks for the review very well done
you bet
How do you only have 215k subs?? You will be famous one day I know
I have never played a Fate game or really know much about it, but I'm a die-hard Musou/Warriors fan so I was really interested in this game when it got a Switch port. FINALLY found a reviewer of this game that actually follows Fate. Thanks for the vid!
I wish my local ups delivered at death speed
Wish it was on pc...Dang.
Same here :(
yup =(
This and Dynasty Warriors Gundam on PC would make me so very happy.
The series started on PC... If only...
It's from Xseed & Marvelous, They always consider PC version in the future. Hope it's no exception.
Great Review man! I might actually get this.
thanks
Nice. My girlfriend loves the cathartic release of these musou games. The anime style is a definite plus for her as well. Thanks for the review/heads up.
Does this count as the first quality PS4 release of the year then?
I think Flame i the Flood came out today. And though not a massive fan some like it.
Thanks for the review, reply helped me out on buying this game.
you bet
I think im gonna get this game, $50 on amazon for a special edition with prime, thats a hella good price, its gonna be my first “fight mobs of mobs” game so i hope i like it, thx for the good review
ACG this is a really good review. Well done. You helped me make the final decision for this game. I'm picking it up for the Nintendo Switch. If you order through Amazon Prime you get a $12 savings. Also, I like how you asked for a thumbs down if people don't like the video lol. Thought it was funny cause thumbs downs still count as interaction. Thumbs up & a subscribe from me.
hype for extella link is real!
This game actually looks really good. Fantastic review as always
If you're curious, read a synopsis of Fate Extra and Fate Extra CCC and you're golden.
you can play this without the anime because this is alternative dimension and therefore some peoples background aren't the same as in the anime.
I dont have the information on how it runs sorry
This looks awesome, I wish these games were two player at the same time, tell me that wouldn't be fun, and don't you DARE actually tell me it wouldn't, cause you know it would!
Not sure if the sale is over, but there was a 50% sale of the game and all the outfits on Steam
Sadly I've got way too many other games to play right now to even consider buying it, maybe sometime this summer or something.
ya not what I expected
The enemies can actually hurt you? That's my issue with most of these games. I understand you're meant to be a death dealing machine, but the enemies in say the DW games never presented any challenge.
I'm confused. Isn't the Nasuverse supposed to be some kind of dark modern fantasy? Like, _Harry Potter_ meets _True Detective_ by way of _Hunger Games_ or something. I know it has expanded over the years, but... what has led it to this Tron-like Dynasty Warriors setup? How is this in the same universe as the _Garden of Sinners_ movies?
check there massive wikis and explanations. Its pretty insane
Extra isn't in the same universe. Same multi-verse, but not the same universe.
It takes place in a parallel story where magic basically died off and everything took a more technological focus with Mages basically becoming hackers instead iirc.
I really didn't understand Extra's backstory all that much. That's basically what I picked up though.
great review, thanks. you sold me on it.
There wasn't enough characters for me, and saber was honestly the only character who feels like a beast.
there are some sluggish mechanics and moves, but i really like the game.there are only 3 things i really dont like:some annoying enemys(especially flying enemys),you cant switch code
casts in fights so the traps feel like gimmicks and the balance is off at times(its easier to beat the first finalboss on very hard than to beat some regular maps a bit underleveled).one
minur problem i have is reused content since the sidestorys are too short to be that engaging and they only have reused assets shuffled around,so they arent unique either.i appreciate
their inclusion tho since 80% of them tie into the lore of the game.....oh boi,the lore.thats one hell of a pluspoint to counteract those minuspoints.this was literally my first fate/ which i
only even bought because the guys in the miiverse told me "eh,you like hyrule warriors.there will be that warriorsgame on the switch that isnt made by koei.you should probably check
that out" and the game explained everything well enough that i had a basic understanding of what is going on even tho i didnt even know there was any continuity before the game
and it actually made that "moon holy grail war" sound really epic,so i was really interessted in extra.....yet extra has to be the most boring war i have ever seen.anyways, thats just a
great thing if a game is able to present a series and its characters of a non-game series(it has other games, but its mostly a storymedium-series that ranges from lightnovels to anime)
so well
oh and its one of the few warriorsgames to actually feature a good story
You sir got my subscription for doing this game
thanks so much man
You do a darn good job man, thank you for the reviews
from unlimited blade works, to an "enemy computer"........ I see you fate, I see you
Do I have to watch the series to understand the game?
not a ton
