      Congratulations!! Feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions about the Autoglide upgrade. I tell everybody... Autoglide is one of the top 3 upgrades I've done to Channel Surfing. Hands down, no question.

    Pretty nifty! First trip to San Juans in the planning stage. Not sure where we're going yet but should be fun!

      Thanks for watching! The Lenco Autoglide upgrade was a near complete gamble. I bought it and installed it hoping it'd help, but not really sure how good or bad it'd be.
      Since it's been installed, it's turned out to be one of the best upgrades I've done. I wish I'd of bought it sooner. I do not touch the trim tabs, at all, ever, when we're out boating. The Autoglide takes care of it and keeps the boat balanced, and comfortable. It definitely reduces the time it takes to get up on plane also. And as folks move around the cabin it keeps the boat balanced. Fantastic upgrade!

      @@Letsgochannelsurfing That's great to hear! I have a Bennett system on my boat, I was looking to add their version of auto glide (auto trim pro) but the reviews are terrible, seems like Lenco nailed it and Bennett totally dropped the ball. I sure love how it sounds, I'm glad your enjoying it. Beautiful boat btw!

      @@Letsgochannelsurfing I have the old Bennett hydraulic setup. I just found out I would have to change over to lemco's electronic setup to use their auto glide system (which also costs 3x what the Bennett system does). bummer..

    Great demonstration. Not sure how this one slipped past me. I saw the Lenco working in other videos and assumed it was a stock item. Our hull is about to get laid for an R-25 - mid Summer delivery. By now you must have a unique relationship with the builder. How receptive are they for adding modifications during the build? I can do this, no problem, but it seems logical to just pay for what you want the first time.

      Thanks for watching!
      Many have asked the factory to install the Autoglide. I’ve not heard of anyone being successful into talking them into it. It’s not an item that they’ve ever installed on their boats. The other problem, I’ve head from many about is availability. There’s a back order/supply chain issue in finding one ready to ship. However, the good news is, install of the Autoglide isn’t very complicated nor time consuming.

    • @Letsgochannelsurfing
      @Letsgochannelsurfing  3 года назад

      It was just under $1k for everything. I bought the Lenco Autoglide system for Lenco Electric Tabs (single actuator) without N2k and without GPS. (I already have a N2k network and that network already has GPS on it).
      We are also impatiently waiting for that border to open up so we can head North!! Would be great to meet up with you out on the water!

    Nice video thanks. I have a Pursuit DC265 in Fort Lauderdale. It has a serious roll tendency on plane in choppy seas. I am hopeful this mod to my existing Lenco tabs will help stabilize the ride? Question, what parameters does the control module (accelerometer) have in termsof where it can go and how far away from the trim switch?. I already have NEMA200 w/ GPS. My existing Lenco trim switch is in the main dash nearby the NEMA Buss. Thanks again!!

    • @Letsgochannelsurfing
      @Letsgochannelsurfing  2 года назад

      The control module could go anywhere I believe. The helm switch uses a Nema2k cable to connect to the control module. So I assume it could be easily extended.
      The auto glide definitely exceeded my expectations. We travel long distances at 25 knots. Going 60nm in a trip is not uncommon. As the sea state changes, the balance of the boat would change. So I was always fiddling with the tabs. With the auto glide, I don't even pay attention to them.

    Will it work at slow cruise in sloppy conditions? Looks really cool!

    • @Letsgochannelsurfing
      @Letsgochannelsurfing  3 года назад +2

      At slow cruise, the tabs don't really do much. However, the Autoglide does recognize sloppy conditions and will do things such as dropping the tabs down, to keep the bow down and help the boat get up and stay on plane at much lower speeds than normal (around 15 kts I saw).

    watching this again...you said bring the engine trim up, what if we have a ranger with inboard diesel engine?

    • @Letsgochannelsurfing
      @Letsgochannelsurfing  3 года назад +2

      On the outboard, you have to trim the engine as that greatly affects the pitch of the boat. On an inboard, the auto glide still functions but instead of trimming the engine, you would apply enough throttle to bring the boat up on plane, typical cruising speed during the calibration phase.

    Were did you order you lenco auto glide system? I have a R27 2019 also do I need the dual actuator or single actuator? Do I need the GPS network system with it?

    • @Letsgochannelsurfing
      @Letsgochannelsurfing  3 года назад

      I ordered from Partsvu dot com. Same place I get all our Yamaha parts for routine maintenance. As long as your boat has Lenco electric tabs with a single actuator per tab... all you need is the Lenco Autoglide without GPS and without N2k as your R27-OB already has GPS and already has a N2k network. Additional components needed would be a Nema2k T so you can plug in the Autoglide to the existing N2k network. And you'll need the mounting L bracket, it's not really optional due to the requirements on how the controller must be mounted.

    what is the range you get and optimal speed for best gph?

    • @Letsgochannelsurfing
      @Letsgochannelsurfing  3 года назад

      Range depends on speed.
      At cruising speed, 25 knots, range is about 170nm.
      At slow-boating (6 knots), range is about 400nm.

    How did you take the seat off?

    • @Letsgochannelsurfing
      @Letsgochannelsurfing  3 года назад

      There are 2 styles of seats on the R27-OB. 2020 has the seat that drops down ontop of the microwave. Thus there is a hole cut out in the top. Previous models had the seat mounted on top, and access would only be from below (in the cave) or by removing the microwave.
      Since ours had the cutout, we just lifted the seat up as if we were driving. that exposes about a dozen square drive screws all the way around the seat base. I used a square drive bit, stuck that into a socket that fit the square drive bit. then used a rachet to losen them all. they're like 2 inch screws. Once all the screws were out, my wife and I lifted the seat straight up and out of the way.

    There’s no interference issues with the microwave it sits behind? I assume that’s a microwave.

    • @Letsgochannelsurfing
      @Letsgochannelsurfing  3 года назад

      No issues. The Microwave is powered by AC, when we're underway we would rarely, if ever, even have the microwave powered on while we're cruising. If we're going slow, eating lunch, we may power on the microwave for a few minutes to heat up left overs.

    • @Letsgochannelsurfing
      @Letsgochannelsurfing  3 года назад +1

      In addition, directly under the microwave (which you wouldn't be able to see in the video) is the Garmin auto-pilot compass. I don't know if the microwave would generate interference for either the autopilot compass or the Lenco Autoglide. We've used the microwave briefly at slow speeds with the autopilot running and not had any issues. But the vast majority of the time that autopilot and the Autoglide are in use, the microwave wouldn't even be powered on.
