I got out of BMX riding 30 years ago after my diamond back got stolen. These new bikes are sketchy to me now that I finally bought another BMX about a month ago. According to you, my bike is too big for me, but honestly, it is too small for it to be stable. All I do is loop out! Honestly, I like the old school geometry much better than that of today. That's what I grew up to, and that is what I am used to.
I agree that the frame geometry is one of the factor, I also just got back in riding and I used to ride 20" - 20.5 in the past, by the time I got back I did tried a 20.7 top tube with a 12.8 chainstay, it feels weird and then I got my self a 20" toptube with a 13" chainstay and gained my confidence back... geometry really is a factor
41 year old here, planning on returning to bmx soon. My last bmx bike was FBM PW moto 20.75 with other custom parts. I never had the breakdown told to me like you explain it. So it would be better for me to drop down to 20.5 , My bikes were always custom when i was series at bmx. Now at my ages, i will just get a complete build. Been researching bikes and so far the Kink Whip seems like my best choice. Going to keep looking though.
i get back to bmx recently after 10 years of riding mountain bike, got a Kink Whip 2022. Still feel strange trying to bunnyhop hahaha! im still practicing till now.
We up here in the NW typically recommend 21.5 for getting back into it, to compensate for the short back end. going from 15 to 13 on the rear end is a nightmare. Otherwise S&M and Credence frames have 14.2 back ends and they feel amazing for the old dawgs like me.
Just got back on a bike after 15 years, glad to see I'm not the only one that had this feeling ! I'm 5'6" and bought a bike with a top tube of 20.4 is this a good size?
im 5’8” my frames is 21 i know thats isnt correct but my legs are some longer that normal so with a 20.5 frames some times hitme on my knee with the front post,
I’m 5’10” and just getting back into riding @ 52. I actually did faceplant over the handlebars of my Redline Asset 24. My stance was definitely with my weight on my bars. Will taller bars help?

It’s good to see you posting more keep it up
I think this should work for me, cause most of the time my feet leave the pedals, even with my vans shoes.

I bought a mongoose legion l100 and I feel like my to tall for the bike maybe. I'm 6'1 weigh around 190 in case that's relevant. First bmx bike ever
Im thinking of getting a bike im 4ft 12 and im wondering if an 18.5inch top tube would be good for my height
Im also trying to get back to riding, im 5'6", whats the right size for me? Hehe thanks in advance
On the internet there are scales and what height is the bar size recommend
Bike geometry kicks but these days I wish my bike had these specs back when. Definitely would have helped progression
Plus all the skateparks, foam pits, resin ramps, and this youtube channel
@@SirKevinthefirst very true
Buying different size stems is a way to adjust a bike without having to buy a new bike
Where's the 'Bike School Foot Positioning' video?
I'm subbed to that channel and searched for it... No luck...

Can someone tell me if a 20.5 frame would be good for me cos my hight is 5.6
Yes that’s a perfect size for you
What’s best bang for your buck $ I’m 5/6
how do you sit down?? you gotta stand up the whole time?? I'm just trying to pedal to work and never get chain skip again
Check the sprocket teeth and you’ll need a 22inch to cruise bro
people blaming the geo and dont account for the fact that theyre 30+ and top heavy
I got back into it on a 19.5" I got for cheap and I am 6'5". It's his stance
