I love how you show the view in each hammock. Very thorough if you and a good honest look at the pros and cons of these hammocks. Good suggestion on the tarp types as well. Thanks for all your work.
Helsdon outdoors makes the eureka style hammock now from what I have heard. Yes it's heavier than the war bonnet , But , the war bonnet leaves you sleeping like a normal hammock. It doesn't look to give even support as the Chrysalis. I like the first video hammock hands down for a person with serious back problems. Thanks for taking the time to do these videos. Peace
Yes I do find that, there are for sure pro's and con's for both and I always go back and forth on which one I like better. I think that bridge hammocks are great and can be very comfortable but gathered end hammocks are great too. If you are trying to decide which one to buy I would suggest testing some out first. If you cant test some out first maybe pick up a cheap gathered end hammock for $20 or so and see if you can get comfortable in it. If not than maybe the bridge hammock is for you
You can use a similar suspension system like the one on the warbonnet, but you would have to do a significant amount of alterations to the lawson blue ridge hammock to make that possible.
Backpack Hiker you say you haven't had much luck, is that a quality issue? I'm looking at them along with every other brand I can find. i'd appreciate it if you could tell me what you know about DD.
I've had a Ridgerunner for years. It's all I use backpacking. Excellent review but you did have too much angle on the straps on your initial setup. Lower the straps a bit and slightly tighten and the hammock will lay flatter.
Warbonnet makes some nice hammocks , I have the Warbonnet Blackbird and really like it. For a rain fly I use the MacCat hex cut tarp , large ( 144 X 104 ) one and it gives me a lot of room under it at just shy of the one pound weight. You talked about the saddle bags on the Ridge Runner , The Clark Tropical has the same with 2 storage areas ( pockets ) on each side of the hammock , I put my shoes in one of them when I am out in the Clark. With both hammocks I use a small under hammock for keeping my backpack and other stuff out of the weather and dirt. Several different companies sell them or you can make your own.
Backpack Hiker One great advantage of both of those hammocks is that they are mosquito proof all the way around them. That is one factor you want in a hammock when you are camping in or anywhere near the wet lands , rivers and swamps of Florida. You can not go wrong with either of them. The Blackbird you will have to purchase a rain fly separate from the hammock since it does not come with one. The Clark when you get the hammock you get the whole package at the quoted cost.

Great series. Much more thorough than others on YT and honest, which i appreciate.
Thanks for your time and input on your reviews.Excellent job!
Thank you very much!

Great reviews thanks for taking the time to do it
Thanks, I have a Hennessy and have been thinking about getting the ridge Runner. Its nice that you run through the highlights, keep up the good work!
Love my Ridge runner ,being a side sleeper other hammocks didn't work so well for me. Wished I would have bought it first.
Great review! Can the Warbonnet suspension be used on the Lawson Blue Ridge hammock? Thanks!

Do you think i would fit in this hammock? Im 6'5" if not do you know any bridge stype hammocks that will

Do you still have this hammock if not what do you use
Thanks for your great reviews. Do you find that the bridge hammocks give you as flat a lay as a gathered end hammock when a person sleeps diagonally?
If strung tighter, can you lay flat, in it? I can’t sleep banana style, in regular hammocks. Even diagonally, it hurts my knees.
Great videos! What is the underquilt you used with the Ridgerunner? Thanks
I don't know?
Love mine! Try lowering your straps....makes a big difference.....just subbed
Hey, what type of material is the spreader bars at either end of the hammock? steel would be a heavy enough material to carry around back packing :/
+Wayne Hayes The spreader bars are made out of aluminium. There are also carbonfibre-spreaderbars available. And you could use hiking poles.
Thanks Q Cox
Thanks for the vids. Can you try the DD Jungle Hammock? I've heard great things.
I will see if I can get my hands on one, I have not had much luck with hammocks from DD. I really like the Claytor Jungle Hammock
