Special edition models are officially rolling off of the assembly line, as we recently took delivery of the 2023 KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition. The popular model enters another year of production with some minor updates when compared to last year's bike, along with the Factory Edition bling. Swapmoto Live Test Rider Pat Foster and Donn Maeda spent a day on the orange machine before giving us their first thoughts, check it out!

As a 51yr old old old man that has been riding his whole life, I am grateful for the bike we had back in the day, it made for a better rider out of what what underneath us...but damn do I wish we had this technology back then. My biggest "Technology Boom" was when I started racing & my dad bought 3 1982 YZ80J's, 1st yr liquid cooled & the radiator in front of the handlebars, that thing ripped. ! was left stock, 1 was practice & 1 was race.
Oh yea, we also played outside with the neighbor kids back then too. Made dirt clod fights fun, dinner was when you heard mom screaming your name & prayers were the regular at bedtime...Now that I think about it, you can have your technology, my life as a child was AWESOME!

What is the difference besides the on road kit on the Beta ?
Theres literally only 700g diff in weight between the 350 and 450 I dont know why people keep going on about how light the 350 is when in actual fact its not. You wouldn't even notice 700g.
its the additional reciprocating mass within the engine that makes the 450 feel "heavier'"

The KTM is a stunning Looking bike. The only thing I don't like the look of is the header pipe, the shape and finish look awful to me. Having said that, most people will just swap it out for an aftermarket one anyway.
