    I got mine at the end of July and I love it. I am really impressed with it in single track. I’ve left the engine and suspension alone for now (besides setting sag). I’ve added protection mods, IMS tank, and headlight (Rigid Adapt) so far. May add a voyager pro but other than that it’s pretty damn good for now.

    Thanks for the most in depth report on this amazing machine. I’m loving my 2021 KTM 500 XCF-W for primarily singletrack, but can see the need for a livelier motor and stiffer suspension for when the terrain opens up for higher speeds. Is Husqvarna going to offer a similar hot rod 450 with linkage rear suspension? I have been unimpressed with the relatively low power output of their recent FE 450’s. My 2016 FE 501 was very strong ( and bulletproof) with a few inexpensive mods. While a lot heavier, it was considerably more stable at higher speeds than my PDS 2021 500 XCF-W.

    Huge thank you for the video!!!
    My daughter rocks a 15 450 XC-f, she is hinting about a 6th gear(thats what Dads are for...Right?)
    I'm sending her the link to this video, I can sell her on a newer bike, gets a 6th gear, and she will still have the Orange frame, LOL!
    A 450xc-f is a little over my head in the power game, fatiguing is real. I'd like something with more snap than a 500, I should get a 450 W too!!!

    I had a 2008 KTM 450xcr-w that was a great bike for tight trails although heavier than I like so I ended up purchasing a 300xcw tpi which is great for the style riding I do. Great torque, never flames out, and easy to work on. Best thing IMO that I’ve ever thrown a leg over and I’ve had every make and model dirt bike since the 70’s. My 2 cents…

    Excellent review! I have a 2023 Husqvarna FE450. Basically, it's the same but with link suspension. What I like best is the linear power delivery and luggability. It's almost hard to kill the motor. I ride everything from open trails to tight woods single-track, and it handles it all like a champ. I know I have the right bike because I really don't have to do anything to it to ride like I want to.
    I will be checking out a Taco Moto dual sport kit to connect trails. (If it's available? ) It's easy to plate in Minnesota.

    @Taco Mike, you mentioned this new 450 enduro model has many applications, Rally, Trail, Desert. The 500EXC-F is popular because it's also an all-rounder, including many who use it as a lightweight adv bike, connecting trails with 75mph pavement stretches yet still great for the more challenging BDRs and single track. In places where it's easy to plate a dirt bike, do you think this platform with its unique power delivery characteristics will also fill this niche? great video, looking forward to the build!

    Why are the o2 sensors always removed when the motorcycles are converted for offroad riding?
    Wouldn't it actually make much more sense to leave the probe in, just to monitor the injection system or to detect a wrong fuel mixture (too rich or too lean), like a wrong fuel pressure or a torn intake manifolt?
    Or is there a good reason why manufacturers dont use the probe for offroad riding?

None of those emissions pieces or 02 system attached, no blinkers, no tail section. No reeds in the intake. No cheese grate on the exhaust. Ride alot of desert and single track here in Vegas. Overall happy with the bike , I feel like first gear is extremely low and will swap back to a 50 tooth sprocket. I think as this bike gets higher in the revs it doesnt pull hard, seems to fall off high in the revs. ECU in my near future and find a suspension guy that is familiar with PDS.

    • @toddkurtz1468
      @toddkurtz1468 Год назад +1

      @@jimmycrowell8854 I really got the 350 because I got a fantastic deal on it. Paid just over 11k out the door for it. I like both bikes but the power is different, obviously. The 500 has a big hit right off the bottom. Then it goes a little flat through the midrange before another nice rush of power up top. The 350 has torque down low too just not as much as the 500. Then the power just builds through the midrange and into the top. I would say the 350 midrange might even be stronger than the 500. The 350 also has a lot of power up top. The 500 vibrates more too. If you like massive torque down low, get the 500. If you like a more linear powerband that pulls forever, get the 350. I think the 500 is better if you're going to be on the road more than 10 percent of the time but I think the 350 is a better "pure dirt bike". It's a little lighter and it handles better.

    It blows my mind how much Americans have to deal with these ''street legal functions'' Over here in Europe we get uncorked bikes from the factory. No ECU tuning, no nothing. Bikes run rich enough to run a pipe without having to adjust air/fuel ratio. I've been running my 2019 450EXC with the stock map and Akrapovic for 250 hours, stock top end, never opened up. Cops don't care about turn signals or blinkers either. As long as you have plates fitted.. you're good to go

Reason I am asking am dont want to get the 23 exc f 500 if the 24 will have a better frame. Not that there is anything wrong with the current one. Thanks Love your Videos.

      No linkage, coil spring forks, wide ratio trans, lower compression, smaller throttle body, cam profile, heavier crank and flywheel, more powerful stator, completely different fuel and ignition maps. I'm definirely missing some stuff, but they are vastly different machines in both design and performance.
