Very nice bike. Appreciate you posting what works and what doesn't, a great resource! We just got snowed out down in Baja, rode about 30 miles in snow 1-12" deep, and had to turn around. A bit surprising!
You need to put the left side foot peg pin in upside down so that it doesn’t contact the screw on the kickstand when the kickstand is down. That is what makes the screw get ripped out of the kickstand and then you loose the hardware and springs.
MPG? I sold my 500 exc last year. I'm looking at a lighter woods/s Cal desert bike (ya, I know). The 450 W looks just about right. I'm really liking your videos and straight forward advice. When I begin the Mods on my new bike, I will shop TACO.
Taco, I'm getting back into trails/scrambles after a few years. I last rode the 525 Exc-f. I'm wondering if there's a way to temporarily soften the 450s delivery until I get my legs back? -Stock map switch? -Throttle tube product? -Aftermarket mapping? All 350 platforms seem to prefer more revs. Your description of power delivery on the '23 seems almost moto-like, and that's a bit intimidating. But I love the XCF-W platform. Thanks from MN for any response.
Nice set-up! Glad you guys are doing the oil change interval testing. I suspected that the factory recommendations were a bit silly. Depends on how hard you push it but I feel if you're using a high grade oil like Motorex it should hold up fine for much longer than the manual suggests. Cheers
With our oil filter, a pc racing filter skin and base gasket, maxima pro plus oil, riding dual sport conditions oil testing shows 60 hour changes are safe and reasonable
KTM offers a "full system open exhaust" map that's available from your dealer. I'm intrested to hear how it performs over stock and compared to the GET or Vortex.
@@TACOMOTOCO It would be interesting to see the data between KTM's optional map that's available from the dealer for a full system exhaust against the GET.
It looks like you're running the 3.9 gallon (15L) tank and not the 3.1. We're interested in MPG in Baja with the new ECU vs stock? I'm guessing stock should be around 45 mpg? Also interested in what power gains are to be had over the stock tune?
I was talking with Randy C on the bike and he mentioned this video was coming out after the trip! Great update video, the level of detail you go into is much appreciated. I already have a lot of these same parts on my new 23 450xcfw, however going a bit different route considering my area is in the midwest. Do you have any plans to test a FMF 4.1 system?
@@TACOMOTOCO hard to see from the video, did you do anything with the 2 pin “dummy plug” that’s under the airbox from factory (such as removing it)? My guess is this has to do with the emissions system on the EXC’s..
Sweet bike Mike, another awesome build. Quick question, isn’t that the 3.9 gallon tank? If so the 3.1 would actually save about 6 pounds which is incredible for all the goodies on this one.
Thinking about picking up one of these bikes, so enjoy seeing all the mods/upgrades you are doing. The main question I have is how does the 450 stock tune and engine characteristic compare to the 500 once uncorked? Coming off four 300 KTM 2 strokes dating from 2016 to 2021. See any issues with this replacing the 2T's once I get used to the difference? Want to be able to use it for technical southern utah riding and multi-day long mountain singletrack. Will flameouts make me regret the 4T, or are they pretty much non existent on this model?
@TACO MOTO CO ... thanks, makes sense. For the slow, techy riding don't see too many guys on 500's with recluse, will the 450 xcf-w be okay without or due to less tractor like low end, maybe need to add recluse to prevent flameouts?
@@mikehassler713 I hard enduro my 500 all the time It’s prob the better bike for it vs the 450 A 350 is prob better suited though than either Rekluse for the win on any bike
@@TACOMOTOCO ok after reading the article it’s states that the way it attaches non magnetic particles is by it getting attached to the magnetic particles. But in an engine bathed in moving oil that’s just not going to happen 🤷🏼 simply physics will never have copper and aluminum attach to steel. If you guys applied this as an additional coverage like in a drain plug or paper filter cap I’d be all game. Win win
Thanks for the video. I think I'll go with the bulletproof designs rear disk guard for the rear and the STR for the front.

We can make that happen
Groovy paint scheme. Yeah Baby !!
Weird it's like a woman in a man's body super knowledgeable sounds flamboyant the new generation
When is tacomoto going to make a kickstand. Ive broke a few stock and a Fastway one. Haven't tried the Trailtech or Swiftkicker yet...
Try a swift kicker and see what you think. So far so good w ours

Crazy with all the upgrades in this bike still 30+ lb lighter, then my drz400e can't wait to upgrade

Which tidy tail fits the 450xcf-w? The description on the website only shows fitment for the exc.
