That explains so much. =) The Japanese voice actors for Yu-Gi-Oh's main characters are amazing. Kenn was absolutely awesome and so was Miyashita but Miyashita doesn't seem to have appeared in anything since =( I hope he's okay.
In the dub he literally implies the last thing he remembered was the first time he got the ring which was before he met anyone and was probably years ago.... (tho he did actually remember the group so the dub probably mistranslated.)
From season five when The Bandit King takes over I understood it that for all that time it more of the minds fighting for space inside him. Sometimes Ryo took control sometimes the Bandit King. Though I wanna know, who is he as a person? What’s his real personality, the glimpses we’ve got where he was truly himself were so small I’ve no idea. I feel so bad for the bastard
@@edgyspaceunicorn7215 he is a sweet and caring person, the manga explores this so much more than the anime. The anime tries to forget Ryo's existence.
Leon Müller he only lost due to plot armour sadly, he as himself could’ve made the whole show much more exciting but Konami had to kill him off and give him no chances throughout the series
No don thousand beacuse don was trapped by astral in the shawdow realm and he seeks revenge ageists the world he had the power to destroy the world but the only reason he didn’t is beacuse Yuma went super sayin 3 on him
I would have put Bakura as number one. I mean because of Bakura/Zorc, he's responsible for every shadow game disaster wether he's directly involved, or not. I doubt there would even be evil Marik without him. Just about everything is domino effect because of this guy. As for loosing a shadow duel, it's pretty much a toss up between becoming whole with the shadows again, or just simply sending him home. It's not like he hasn't escaped before anyway. And technically, when he said "You've haven't seen the last of me," to Marik he's actually right, since he's a walking shadow realm anyway. So, when Marik lost against Yugi he's kinda Bakura's prisoner, trapped inside with the rest Bakura/Zorc.
Vector taking a low shot at Yuma in the dub by saying "I guess you could say things went the Ray way" also makes me want to just give him a hug for his pure trollness
The ultimate irony is that Vector's temporary death actually paved the way for his own redemption when he got brought back by Astral at the end of Zexal.
Are we going by "Top" as in "The 'Best' Useless Characters" or "Top" as in "The 'Most' Useless Characters"? If the former then Arc-V would hold nearly EVERY spot, but if it's the latter I'd agree with putting Yuma's buds there.
vichetisicky yeah with the Arc-V side character you could appreciate that they tried and simply were outclassed by people with better decks, whereas with the Zexal and DM cast I found myself asking why are you even here?
1. Vector - i loved everytime this guy was on screen he was so entertaining to watch and satoshi hino knocked it out of the park with the VA 2. Z-One- The guy behind pretty much everything in 5Ds and all his evil was just to save the future but in most extreme ways. (Justified Evil) 3. Bakura/Zorc Necrophades - So much mystery with this guy and to reveal he is a part of the devil himself and final boss, also Bakura himself was great sadistic and fun 4. Marik/Melvin- his motivations were good and Melvin was just a psycho that was fun to watch 5. Yubel- a problem created by the protgaonist due to his choices and behind the best season of Gx, manipulated many, ripped apart friendships Judai built up, and used his inner darkness against him and yea had a great redemption 6. Number 96/Don Thousand- I loved the design of Don Thousand and his voice was sinister and had a commanding presence that you beleived this guy was the Barian God, his motivations didnt really become fully reveal till the end and even though he lost he may still be out there "I am chaos" He also manipulated the other Barians and turned them into villains, as for No 96 he was revealed as a part of Don Thousand andu ntil then he was like Yami Bakura, just chaos for everyone lol 7. Nasch- as a guy said down there, he was the best plot twist and reveal Zexal gave (which had a lot of great plot twists and reveals) his motivations were not really evil but the will of Barian World: To just live and his rivalry with Yuma was always great 8. Yuri- Whenever he was on screen it was a delight he was so calm and creepy that you were interested by him, i wish they used him more then what they did but he was great 9. Dartz - this guy i enjoyed as he always felt two steps ahead of everyone and his "pet" The Great Leviathan one of my favorite monsters 10. Maximillion Pegasus - loved his Va in both Sub and Dub and was just a fun guy to watch redeemed and got to come back throughout, also good motivation of wanting to bring your wife back
@Kyero Nelma Goku or Vegeta aren’t antagonists unless Vegeta is the villain and Yubel is the villain she wanted to untie the dimensions which would be too chaotic and would destroy them also you could say someone like Bakura shouldn’t be in the list since he duels for revenge for what happened to his people
Thief Bakura/Yami Bakura is the best villain by far. For people who haven’t read the manga, Thief King existed in the manga as someone who was not possessed by Yami Bakura. He was his own entity and Yami Bakura followed him around in a NPC spirit form to interact with him. Thief King was depicted as more of an anarchist character who was obsessed over his revenge. Every time he interacted with anyone from the palace, he would bring up his need to expose the secret behind the items and his desire for revenge. For example, when he sneaked into one of temples of Kaa to confront Aknadin, there was a part where he slams Aknadin against the wall. And one of his lines to Aknadin was “No matter what type of torture I give you, it would never be enough to rectify what happened at Kul Elna.” Did the anime include any of this? Nope. They erased all of his great anarchist monologues and replaced them with these watered-down “I’m evil! I’m gonna summon Zorc and gain the Dark Power!” the entire time. What a lot of people don’t get about this season is that you only see about ONE MINUTE of the actual Thief King. The only instance where Thief King is himself is when Yami Bakura released his hold over him and he turns into sand. That’s where Thief King says “Where am I? What’s happening?” The entire season, Thief King isn’t even Thief King. He’s Yami Bakura playing him as a puppet. Just as the Atem you see in the season is technically “Yami Yuugi” playing Atem’s role, Thief King is “Yami Bakura” playing Thief King’s role. All of Yami Bakura’s memories for his Thief King past is gone so his obsession of revenge was wiped away. In this way, the anime marginalized Bakura into a cardboard stock villain rather than into the complex, pain-driven anarchist character you see in the manga. I’m not even gonna get into the fandom wars the anime started by claiming that Bakura was solely Zorc…meh...Yami Bakura is thief king Bakura AND Zorc. This is why the DM anime needs to be remade. Or at the very least, they should re-do Season 5. They utterly destroyed Thief King Bakura’s and many other characters (and the plot as well). In fact, people who say that series like 5sd or Zexal are better than DM are the same people who have never read the manga.
In the anime theif bakura was possessed by Yami Bakura but in the manga Theif Bakura and Yami Bakura are two different people they dont even talk to eachother, yami bakura tries to communicate but the theif king enver hears him. Anyways Marik and Yami Marik/Dark Marik are the best villains they are the most underrated. They literally defeated atem and yugi in anime & manga, marik fucking surrendered and went back to ishizu due to bullshit plot where the good gay needs to win.
I love Thomas' immaturity. It shows he's just a teenager. That scene of him yelling at Baron during his duel with shark really made me feel for him and his brothers. How much they missed their father and how far they had fallen. I've always admired the tremendous loyalty the Arclight brother always showed towards their father, their friends and each other.
No future yugioh villain will beat Marik. That's for sure. I had high hopes for Zarc to become one of the best villains when I saw his first appearance in Leo's flashback. But after the episodes 136-140 I was like "Nope."
Here goes my list: 10 - Divine. The guy was so twisted and had so much potential. 9 - Z-one. He was behind everything that happened and only wanted to save the future. 8 - Sayou. He made both Asuka and Manjoume useful. 7 - Pegasus. Still is the most unique villan in the franchise. 6 - Diva/Aigam. He needs his own series. 5 - Tron. "Hey, Mr. Heartland. Everyone at this party...I'm gonna kill them all" damn. 4 - Marik. It was so fucked up watch the characters in those dark games, but so entertaining. 3 - Nasch. Best plot-twist of the fanchise. Also, he wasn't even an evil guy, the conflict between Barians vs. Astrals about ideology and fear. Both sides were portrayed as evil and good. 2 - Vector. He's voiced by the same guy who voices the joker at the JP dub of Batman, it makes so much sense. And he was the perfect enemy for a character like Yuma. 1 - Director Ono and Kamishiro. They've killed almost every single character in Arc-V and destroyed everything. They both are evil as hell.
I see a villain as someone who acted evil at any point for any amount of time, so here goes: 10. Divine 9. Goodwin Brothers - put them together since Rex was the true leader but Roman was the acting one 8. Sartorius 7. Tron 6. Pegasus 5. Kiryu 4. Yubel - masterminded everything in Season 3 like you said 3. Bakura 2. Vector - psychotic troll? Yes, please 1. Marik for the reasons you stated Dishonorable mention to Zarc for hijacking a plot that was doing decent enough without him.
I've always really liked Kiryu, the dark signers arc in general is one of my favorites, and while Godwin wasn't that great, I always found Kiryu really intimidating and a really well done villain.
@@shirogwyn5952 no he wasn’t brainwashed he despised Yusei even before being a dark signer also he’s a rival villain like season 1 revolver or episode 1 Kaiba he still counts as a villain though
Thing is weevil didn't really have more then 2 episode 3 episode moments as villain. Season 1 he's a semi villain episodes 3 to 5 then hes not really a villain antagonist person in 2 and he got kicked to the side after he lost to the pharoh in 4. Oh and his shameful duel against Siegfried in 5
my favorite antagonists are the three forms of aporia mainly because even though they are set up to seem evil they at the same time aren't because they are trying to stop the end of the world
This is true... I can't believe I forgot Aporia. The guy was the very definition of a character he had a deep and tragic backstory and it's not to feel for him because of it. Still I can't help but wonder... why does he dress like Elemental Hero Core?
I'm a little sad that no arc V villains made it but Meh my list 10. aporia 9.yubel 8.kite 7.fujusaki (sp) 6.melven ( Yami Marik) 5.kalin 4.Nasch 3.vector 2.Yuri 1.Bakura
alot of people like vector i noticed and i had a feeling he would be on the list somewhere. and i will give him credit for being one of the best villains in yugioh. one of my favorite villains of all time as well.
I think it's pretty funny that many people consider the Dark Signer Arc one of the best in the franchise but a lot of the members as *INDIVIDUAL* characters don't stand out and aren't as remembered as the group itself...pretty surprised that they didn't make the list tbh! Also a lot of people love season 4 of GX and yet Darkness isn't in this list...I think it's weird that we get this rare cases in YuGiOh were the themes and individual moments are *WAY* more important than the villain itself! I'm fine with Marik being number 1 but Bakura is more entertaining to me ahah Keep it up I can't believe you're almost at 15k. Unbelievable, cheers bud!
My favorites: Yami Marik Yami Bakura Vector Yubel ZONE I love these four because I loved how sadistic and pure evil they were. I especially loved the back stories for Marik, Bakura, Vector and ZONE. Honestly even though ZONE wasn't "evil" his intentions still went against the protagonist. And even then I loved his complexity as he went through with his plan believing it would save his future at the expense of New Domino City (Present) and how he did it to save his future. Good intentions but executed not too good.
I don't see Z'One as an evil character. While the final main villain in 5Ds and a master manipulator, his back story and character development suggests more of a tragic character than anything else. I thought the duel between him and Yusei was extremely well-written.
Who doesn't love Vector, he's so entertaining, you know you have a good villain when you have some one you hate to love. You should be despising him but you just can't. Kudos to the guy behind him, he's set the bar really high for any villain that follows.
Chaos of madness Agree i mean Bakura is cool and all but it took him almost every season for him to be the top dog which it's pretty weird sense he always loses to Yami
Unlike these other villains, bakura was built up since the begining of the series, and he's a great villain, but the others were better and they WEREN'T built up.
@@miramalverick2767 well, we've seen him battling like 10 times and he did Lost to yugi twice and to marik once. I think that's all... Whatever, he was just not at his full power in this Time... In the pharao's Time, he litterally destroyed mahad, yugi, kaiba, exodia and the the thee egyptian gods easily... And fought well against kaiba in our Time, but the fight didn't stop. His plan was awesome, he planed to revenge against the pharao during thousand of years and he was badass
Loved Sayer. He is a really good villain in the Yugioh 5D's World Championship 2010 game for DS, which your character is a member of the arcadia movement. I don't want to spoil anything in case you want to check it out sometime.
My top 10 Yu-Gi-Oh Antagonists are: 10. Z-Arc/Yuri the Main Character is the Villian and he is why Arc-V takes place, plus The duel between Yuri vs.Yusho and Then Yuya best Duels too 9. Divine - he is so evil and I never like the Arcadia Movement 8. Pegusues - I love his Toon deck, but really he deserves more 7. Agami - he needs a series as he needs more of a story and I hated his deck in the Movie 6. Nasch - Shark during the Barian vs Astral World Arc and going against Quattro then Yuma best 5. Vector- my last Zexal Character as I never really like Zexal but Vector has always been my favorite villain especially after he killed Shark's Sister, Meran or Rio and Durban by draining energy from Nasch 4. Dartz - Dartz is close to one of my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh! Villians as he is the first person to be able to lead a team like Raphael to show a more darker version of Yami, best Arc. 3. Bruno - a friend turn against Yusei during the Z-One Arc in Season 4 and one of the best duels from 5DS in my opinion 2. Bakura and Marik - I am ranking these two character as the best from Original as Bakura is one behind All of the events of Original Series and Marik being the first enjoyable Villian and also able to turn Yugi's friends against him. 1. Yubel - Yubel is one of my all-time favorite Antagonist as GX is one of my favorites series and by watching how the events play off in Season 3 and Jaden's back story and was able to lead Jaden to becoming the Supreme King, Corrupting Adrian in summoning Exodia, by sacrificing Echo, Zane's Death, as well as trying to break the bond of Jesse and Jaden, makes Yubel the top antagonist for me.
I really like your list, but for me as a fan of 5Ds there has to be Kalin in my top list! I even think the Dark Signers Arc has to be one of my favourite arcs in all Yugioh.. Here's my list: 5. Bakura 4. Valon 3. Yubel 2. Marik 1. Kalin
Vector was one of those characters that caused me to both love and hate at the same time (and that's a good thing). Never have I ever saw someone troll a protagonist so much to the point where they (in this case Yuma and Astral) resorted to a distorted form of a signature power up that they had which also cause them to go insane, during that face off and almost lose the battle because of it.
10) Aigami: he was a terrific villain and for a movie one he really captivated me I just wanted to see him pick up @least one win.09) Divine: he was a brilliant character and made 5D'S more interesting during the dark signers arc when we had 2 sets of antagonists running around made me a very happy fan. And he got eaten by a giant lizard if that's not a great way to go I don't know what is.08) Jose, Luciano and Placido aka Apporia:I loved this villain whether separate or together seeing them duel was always a treat especially in the 3 on 1 battle raoyale vs rua,Ruka and Jack . Placedo vs Yusei when he first achieves 'clear mind' and summons shooting star dragon is still one of my favourite moments in the show.07) IV: he is one off my favourite characters in zexal I love his character and deck his voice actor was magnificent I summons till play gimmick puppets to this day 06) yubel: my favorite antagonist in GX she really was very captivating and very hypnotic whenever she was on screen she had my attention. She had a brilliant backstory and her redemption was brilliantly written.05) Tron: this guy got me curious from the second he appeared on screen and when his story was revealed not to mention defeating Kaito when nobody else had legitimately done do was appeared massive achievement.04) Pegasus: as being the second chief antagonist in Yu-gi-oh! History he was a fabulous character who stole the show everytime he was on screen.03) Ishtal Malik: a brilliant backstory a terrifying alter ego not to mention his unpredictable behaviour made his time alters the villain very scary and fun.02) Vector: the guy gives me the chills he was a very well crafted villain who made me love to hate him and yes that death scene left me with a bad case of the feels.01) Ryo Bakura/Bakura the thief king/ Zorc The creator of the games of darkness is on the top of my list he was nicely written had a brolling backstory. He often makes me wish I were him.
My List, note, i hate rushed redemptions and enjoy well intention extremists 10. Aporia, Jose, Placido, Luciano, maybe a cheat entry, but i consider these 4 one person. every duel they were in had this wonderful air of menace, and he actually challenged the 5D's crew to find new ways to beat him. 9. Lawton, i love me an irredeemable bastard, Lawton is what made the Crashtown arc for me 8. Pegasus, i love his mannerisms and dueling style, but the fact that he won most of his duels through mind reading lessened him as a treat. 7. Roget. Another diabolic manipulator with great facial expressions, he's only let down is his actual duels, but i loved how much power he had in the Synchro arc, best Arc-v villain. 6. Vector, so good he almost overcomes a rushed repetition for the top 5 spot. 5. Yami Marik, sadistic, brutal, only let down by the fact that he technically lost to Joey, reducing his intimidation quiet a bit 4. Saio, the most massively involved with a seasons plot villain of the bunch, shame his season kind of sucked overall 3. Yubel, levels of threat and success are massive, as well as being the only villain who never really got beat at the end 2. Bakura, long term scheming and creepy factor at its best 1. Z-one, did i mention i love well intention-ed extremists? Have i mentioned i love the idea of dropping a giant object out of the sky, or that i love long term planners, or that i love his design? Well now you know.
Yes! Yes absolutely. Lawton and his bitch Barbara. How often can you say you don't feel sorry for a chick when she kicked by Jack Atlas?...actually thinking about it probably way too much.
I absolutely love the scene were Tron takes off his off mask. Bakura is probably my favorite villian he's simply darkness love child. Marick is easily one of the most influential villains in all of the franchise.
Guess I'm the only one who liked Dartz eh? Probably because he was the only master mind whom actually felt like was always 2 or 3 steps ahead. Subtle but very entertaining and I'll be honest I liked the Waking the Dragons arc of Duel Monsters as a hole. It also says a lot that 5D's was so good and yet only 1 villain made this list. For me... 1. Vector 2. Bakura 3. Maximillion Pegasus 4. Yami Marik 5. Tron 6. Dartz 7. Lawton & Barbara 8. Yubel 9. Number 96 10. Professor Cobra
Bless you Dylan it's an awesome list buddy. =) There are a few other awesome ones as well like Lawton and Barbara (the ones from crash town) and Number 96 who I found so hard not to hate. Any chance we could get a Manga list too some day Dylan? I feel like Tragoedia and Reggie Mckenzie are possibly the most underrated characters in Yu-Gi-Oh.
Yeah he wasn't an in your face villain that's for sure I mean we only really got to knew how much of an evil bastard Dartz was when it was revealed that he killed Raphael's family, Arranged the bombing of Alistairs down and set-up Valon for those crimes as a kid. Speaking of which I also really liked Raphael, his motives as a villain may have been off the mark but as an anti-hero he was pretty badass.
considering how much you talk about Vector, I honestly got surprised when he wasn't #1... imo though, Vector's my fav villain, Yami Bakura at #2 and Jubel at #3... or actually, i'm not sure if I wanna place Jubel there or Zarc, cuz I really enjoyed the concept of the protagonist also being the antagonist
actually yami bakura is the best villain not only because he is pure evil but because he set the tension for the rest of the show. once he transfer portion of his spirit into yugi's puzzel you knew he is gonna be the final villain of the show. the puzzel was what unit yugi and yami yugi together, the main characters of the show and was their main power source. a few episodes later he even laugh when yami yugi and Tea was in domino square and yami yugi couldn't detect the source because he laugh from inside the puzzel. he just gave a clue to yami yugi and the viewers that he is the real villain and not Marik
Nice video, Dylan :D! I’m so excited for this week :D I think Devine is underrated, but still is a strong villain. Its kinda a shame that one cult (arcadia) got shoved under the rug, while the society of light got alot of attention. I’m not pro cult, but they do make for good story lines. I really think that Yubel was one of the best villains. She was very heavily involved in the plot, and was a skilled duelist, and finally redeemed herself naturally and pretty much is the reason why Judai survived season 4. Those qualities are rarely seen in female protagonist. I think Zexal had some really well written villains. Four, Tron, and Vector are all interesting to watch. I think the only disappointing thing about Vector is that he hardly ever won. But he was so sadistic, and a good villain. I do agree about Marik being the best villain. Thanks for posting :)
my fav villian in this list is bakura since he was mentioned nearly in every arc throughout the original series, but my all time fav villian has to be dark signer kalin kessler, 3 reasons why: 1-thousand eyes and ccapac apu 2-infernity handless play style 3-his influence on the big 3 duelists of this era. too bad he only had 5 duels thoughout 5ds and 3 of them were after the dark signer arc but i dont care, he left a very strong impression to me as a badass duelistand will always have a place in my heart of the cards
Notable lack of 5D's and not a single ARC-V villain on this list, not that I can blame you since both shows lacked strong villains imo. The only exception I'll make is Dark Signer Kiryū who is probably top 10 on my list, he was totally nuts and technically one of the few who actually beat Yusei in that show
Hell you could probably put Team Satisfaction Kiryu on that list too... did you see the look on his face when he beat that cop to within an inch of his life?
I thought number 1 is for Kaiba. Lol. For me Yami Bakura should get #1 spot because of his plan to destroy both worlds(Ancient Egypt and Present time) while Marik concentrated on getting revenge to the Pharaoh by destroying him along with the present time. Yami Bakura is way creepier than Marik.
Sartorious would definitely make my list! I've always had an interest in Tarot cards and to see a deck based off them is SOOOO COOL. I just wish more monsters or cards based off the other Tarot cards were made, it's near impossible to run a pure Arcana deck. I made mine into a Fairy/Arcana/Countertrap deck.
IMO the coldest of the antagonists would have to be Don Thousand of Zexal. He heartlessly tore seven different people from their past lives in absolutely horrendous ways, possessing or influencing them or other people to their deaths. He scrambled all of their minds, changing or hiding their memories and making them refuse to believe the truth about themselves. He also created Astral's dark counterpart with his own power only to reabsorb him in episode 111. He originally designed the Fusionizer, and basically collected all the souls in the assimilation and the souls of all the seven Barian Emperors without any remorse or second thoughts.
Good list. My list is very similar to you but different order. Really can't decide my 6-10 so I'll just leave my top 5 XD 5. Marik - Pretty much the same reason as in the video, but adding his duel against Jonouchi that totally blew my mind. 4. Shark - Plain and simple, that twist 3. Yubel - Exactly the same reason as in the video 2. Z-one - The only villain in YGO that is actually in the grey "zone", not black and white. 1. Tron - I liked him ever since he first appeared. The way he defeated Dextra/Droite and the moment he defeated Kaito made me hate and love him at the same time (if that makes sense lol).
maaan. hopefully it comes out soon cause the intergration summon of supreme dragon king zarc is amazing. it literally screams i am a god. destroyer of universes and dimensions.
I think Zarc, like many other villains, was a interesting concept, but barely executed. They just didnt actually put enough emphasis on the "Once just wanted to make people happy with his duels, but as people demanded him to become more violent, he became more violent" side of his personality, to the point where the "Just wanted to make people smile" part of his personality was pretty much just flat-out told to us. The only real evidence Zarc used to have any good on him is the fact Yuya, who is part of him, is... Well, Yuya, who likes making people smiles a bit TOO much...
Yo Dylan, just out of interest, with the Yubel v Jaden duel at the end of Season 3 of GX, do you think Jaden would of actually been able to beat Yubel in the end, if hypothetically Yubel went down the same route as Darkness and didn't reform, because I've just realized that she's the only main antagonist of GX to not beaten by Jaden in a duel (and before you ask I don't count the duel with her possessing Marcel, as she was using Marcel for that and it wasn't her true form), with Kagemaru, Sartorius and Darkness all being beat by Jaden in their final duels.
After finishing Zexal I have to agree Vector is an impressive villain. The last part of the Zexal is very well written, make you wonder who will win each duel, which isn't common in the series since you almost always expect the protagonist to win, but they managed to create compelling fights that didn't involved the main character so the story was progressing all the time.
Aigami wouldn't be on my list for one major reason: He's very much a retread of Marik's whole schtick. Also, while I feel for him and his situation, blaming Bakura for it was just...was he not paying ANY attention at all?
Two things... 1) Yami Bakura was actually introduced in the manga before Pegasus and the RPG thing he does in season 5 of Duel Monsters is a callback to the TTRPG shadow game of his first appearance. Before that, Seto Kaiba was arguably the main villain (despite there being bad-guy-of-the-week mentality), and I assume the main reason he isn't covered is because this only covers what he did in the Duel Monsters anime. 2) Technically Marik SHOULD have lost against Joey, but they had to have Joey lose since he was not Yugi. (Although just imagine a universe where Joey actually beat Yami Marik and the finals of Battle City was between him and Yugi.)
1. Darksigners (5Ds): Mostly good conection to the charakters, emotionel duell and sad deaths. 2. Z-One (5Ds): Interesting antagonist, basicly a futur version of Yusei. 3. Yubel (Gx): Nice conection to the protagonist and unusuel antagonist. 4. Z-Arc (Arc-V): Nice backstory + hugh dragon + great duellist = good antagonist. 5. Rex Goodwin (5Ds): Tryd to end the conflickt of the sighners, and belieft that a human could not do this after seeing what happends to his brother. 6. Aporia (5Ds): Tragic backstory, redeams himself (and died). 7. Don Thousand (Zexal): An unusuel villien with laughtable op cards. 8. Yuri (Arc-V): Was a troll & showed a more twisted version of the MC`s goel. 9. Tron (Zexal): His motivation was good. 10. Bakura (DM): Was the longest villan in DM & he had a good counterpart, but didn´t get mutch charakter besids sad past & beeing evil.
Ancient Sacred Wyvern Hmm, I feel like personally I enjoyed Sora's character when he was evil the most, but he sort of flat lined after his redemption.
Sora, Shun, Yuto, Yugo, Yuri, Yuzu, Serena, Rin, Ruri, Ray, Reira, Sawatari, and Gongenzaka... WERE way too good for the treatment they got in Season 3. Worst season ever imo! I actually stopped caring about Yuya. They shoved egao down our throats & our favorites chars into the dirt!
Honestly, while I like Arc-V, it didnt took long until it turned into "They wasted a Perfectly Good Character: The Show". Heck, even though much of the show run was about saving the bracelet girls, the only ones of then who we got to see anything on was Serena and Yuzu, and we saw less and less of then as the series went on until they literally no longer existed. Similarly, the creator of the Parasites( Which was one creepy bastard ) never even got to duel: Even Leo Akaba had a kind of interesting motivation in my opinion, but he later proved to be a massive anti-climax boss... ( Not to mention, the fact his motivation was not as much "Create utopia", as it was to save his daughter kiiiind of dissapointed me. )
One thing I do love about Bakura and I wish they did again was that he didn't have some big boss monster to try and overpower the opponent. Almost in every case it's yugi that has the strongest monster. Yet Bakura is always able to somehow disable it or remove it from the occasion.
Out of all the Yu-Gi-Oh antagonist we've seen over the years honestly marriage seems like the one that would be most likely to kill a guy even in the English dub where everything is censored he has that presence of he could definitely kill somebody if you wanted to it's that sense of fear that is present with him throughout the entire series even when his name is mentioned you get really nervous because you know something bad is about to happen I think he's a great choice for number one I totally agree with that because I don't think I've ever been more scared of a Yu-Gi-Oh antagonist then I have been with Marik Ishtar I think you hit the nail on the head with that one I love how you kicked off this list with Sayer personally I think he's a really great villain since he's the leader of a cult and has that menacing presence whenever he's around I just got done watching your video of plot points that Yu-Gi-Oh 5DS forgot about and him and The Arcadian movement was on there and they were expanded upon and had more stuff after the dark signers Arc I think he would be higher on this list because seeing him survive the Earthbound Immortal and then continuing to lead this cult and have it still be a menacing presence in the next season would have been phenomenal but him at number 10 I can live with that because of how goat his character is given the lack of screen time and that they didn't get expand upon Over all I have to say great list definitely a lot of great villains on here especially bakura that Millenium ring was scary to deal with whenever he was wearing it definitely an intimidating opponent so with Sayre and Merrick overall I think you're spot on definitely great job
Yubel is an AMAZINGLY well done villain, especially in the dub. Cassandra Lee Morris really doesn't get enough credit for her performances in the franchise, and the fact that she was foreshadowed since THE VERY START OF GX as well as tied to Jaden (both reveal how Jaden exactly got amnesia) was well done too.
Finally I've been waiting for this and this list. My favorite is IV and I wish I saw him with more wins And Tron who I think is very bad in the fact he did that to his own sons
I'm so happy to hear your take on the Dartz saga is the same as mine, there are some real problems with that season, across the board, and it's glaringly obvious, considering how great the rest of the original DM series was.
Next top: Best barians ! My top 10 antagonists: 10- Noah because he was a child already dead but alive in computers and sacrifice for Mokuba and others. 9- Don Thousand, taked all Barians Emperors lives ! 8- Z-One 7- Tron 6- Marik, I remember his duel with Yugi since my childhood 5- Yuri, a annoying person with 4 girls and a good shipping with Yugo XD 4- Zarc, A big surprise for me ! 3- Dartz, like Don Thousand, manipulate Valon, Amelda and Rafael ! I think he is the first to fuse with a monster before Zarc and Godwin, right ? 2- Vector, a real son of bitch in all Zexal, but I still like him even kill Alito, Durbe, Merag, Girag.... EVERYONE IN GROUP, except Mizael. Haha 1- Shark. What ? He is my favourite rival too but he was a villain before be friend with Yuma and he is Barian ! Special mentions for Amelda and Valon (Doma) for their revenges, Jean Michel Roger for worst french names fused ever and all Barians Emperors ! (Like Alito and Mizael. ;) )
I personally have a very strange, not favourite, but defenitly top 3 villain, Akiza as the black Rose Witch. I loved her backstory, how she was bullied because of her powers, the treatment through her parents which in combination made her isolate herself so much, the really in my eyes understadable reason for joining Acadia, how sayer shaped her into hating the world around her and the people and then, the story with Misty which while false was well done as well in my eyes, alll in all, I think I liked the black rose witch more than good akiza.
i loved Aigami in the movie and I also loved Tron was so cool and that man Bakura is my favorite villain from Yugioh as a whole front And my boy Vector is my second favorite Villians i loved his twisted sense of wickedry and Marik is just well all over the place he,s crazy evil wicked and just evil and ra phoenix mode is real nice he also had the rare hunters the best entourage in the anime keep up the godd work
Let's give a moments silents to the violent sociopath who got turned into a robot then murdered in cold blood... jee it kinda sounds stupid when I say it like that. Either way, RIP Sergey.
My List contains: 1. Yubel 2. Vetrix 3. Darth 4. Maximillion Pegasus 5. Rex Goodwin 6. Marik Ishtar 7. Zarc (Wished he duelled more but still maybe the strongest character ever) 8. Vector 9. Zone 10. Yami Bakura Yugioh Everything you are awesome, watching your videos are the reason I got back into watching the Yugioh Series again! Keep up the amazing work!
While I like Marik, I think I like Vector slightly better ;) (I mean them and Bakura had horrible pasts... and did a lot of horrible things in turn :/)
Marik was essentially held against his will underground for over a decade, then forced to receive an ancient initiation, that included carving open his back with a hot dagger. Then his dad attempts to whip his step-brother, the only one who understood his inner turmoil and sympathized with it, to death. He then goes insane and brutally stabs his father to death, only to come-to and realize what he had done by witnessing the bloody corpse of his father. As for horrible things? Well, Marik bombed a museum, forced several rare hunters to play Egyptian God fakes, which resulted in them being horrifically mutilated, he bound Yugi and Joey to anchors and forced them to duel where the loser would essentially drown to death. Heck, he essentially forced his rare hunters to commit acts that would be constituted as first degree attempted murder, which more often resulted in them dying. Then he ripped Mai's soul from her flesh and throwing it into the deepest pit of madness and nearly burned Joey to cinders with his Egyptian God. When it comes to fucked up things and pasts, Marik is rivaled by oh so few.
I pretty much agree with your list but I would remove sayer, he didn't really do anything which is a shame because he had so much potential. A psychic focused arc would've been amazing where they take down arcadia but sadly it didn't happen because of the cult stuff you mentioned in a previous video. Probably Darts or Noah goes on that list for me instead and maybe I shift the ordering around slightly. For me I think a rough list would look like: 10) Aigami 9) Noah/Darts 8) Sartorius 7) Pegasus 6) Rex Goodwin (He was kinda a backstage villain so although he had very little screen time he was a villain for ages and orchestrated most of the original series of 5Ds) 5) Yubel 4) Vetrix 3) Vector 2) Marik 1) Bakura (I'm a bakura fanboy I'm afraid) Honourable mention: Aporia and his split forms and Paradox they were trying to save the world but doing it badly which appeals to me for some reason. Warning, mini rant: Zexal is such a weird series for me, because I really dislike Yuma and hate Kotori as she is literally just a cheerleader, then Cat girl and rocket train girl were a bit low quality and just gimmicky in my opinion. But the well done characters were so well done, Shark, all of Vectrix's children and Kaito were so good as well as you said Vetrix being such a good villain. But the series was kinda lack lustre until half way through both at which point they became so good. Then the ending was really well done and the duels! The main duels were so good! Pretty much any duel involving the sons of Vetrix were incredible and the final Yuma vs Nasch/Shark, Vector/Ray and Astral were really good. I like the boss monster style decks and Zexal was like THE series for boss monsters. It had so many good parts, but also so many bad parts. Yuma was a poor protagonist and it was really slow for the first half of the each series, the number hunting in particular was a bit crap. Sorry for mini rant but Zexal is just so strange for me.
i realize tomorrow is April 1st, the Pokemon anime is going to be 20 years old, Ash/Satoshi is being voiced by the same voice address who ironically voices Bakura since the Battle City arc.
Good list. I can understand your reasons for not having Dartz and Yuuri on the list. Maybe you could a Top 10/Top 5 BA Characters in YGO List. Because I'm sure Season 4 could beneficial there.
I agree for the most part except Bakura being first and Marik second. Bakura almost destroyed the world and the only that saved it was a clutch fusion at the end. He killed Exodia and even the three god cards weren't enough till they fused.
lol yea i 100% agree with you on the why you didn't include yuuri on the list. i was so so SO looking forward to his redemption arc which is why i had him as my favorite arcv character because i had a feeling he was going to turn out good. of course that never happened and i was severely disappointed when he just suddenly was shown cheering for yuuya the last few episodes. in the end i still love him for his potential and the same can be said for the rest of arcv i also agree with most of your list, though i'd have to say that vector is number one for me, just because the reveal of him being a barian was so shocking and well done in my opinion. and just thinking of how much work he did just to troll yuuma for that amount of time (which wasn't really necessary?? he just did it for shits n giggles) never fails to amuse me. plus his backstory that was given and his death scene? he was just such a great villain and character to me i look forward to more of your videos!
Why Yami Malik?! Ouch! I prefer Yami Bakura to be on the top number 1 instead of him. And some villains I ain't actually agree on lists are Pegasus, Aigami, Fourth, and Sayu. -Pegasus might be once become villain, but it's because he has no choice to fulfill the goal to revive his fiancee's soul as Solid Vision by taking over KC to gain full control of Kaiba's Solid System which later finally get off after he finally realized his goal is nothingness. -Aigami is not actually evil but a twisted avenger, really too bad that he blame Bakura instead of Yami Bakura, and actually as you know that his final form is not his wish. -Fourth only bearing the sins of his father as he wanted his father to admit him and not going to let his father to involve any innocent people for his doing. He actually ashamed to cheat on Shark on his first duel with him but he has no choice. -Sayu on the first debut is not actually evil, but an evil Light Force noticed and took over his body for its evil ambition. Sayu at the same time made prophecy that Ed will somehow help him which Ed did indirectly by befriending with Judai. The fourth season duel is because he was feeling helpless because losing his power and got his sister kidnapped forcing him to face Judai again. - Extra: Yami Malik is nothing more than 'BIG COWARD' than Yami Bakura. At least Yami Bakura faced his defeat fair and square. But Yami Malik begged like a baby before he met his end. Yami Malik is the only Yami being to not able to win properly except by using Ra. Mai made mistake because she didn't know how terrifying it is for using God cards and Joey lost because of Ra's dark game mode Phoenix attack (Joey could win if Gearfred able to launch its attack). Remember again that Yami Malik said this on Joey 'I don't need God card against you'. Yami Malik, eat your words!
When I was young and duel monsters was ongoing, I picked up Forbidden Memories for the PS1 and from then on I speculated that the evil spirit of the ring was Heishin from that game because they had a like goal in obtaining all the millennium items.
I see you're a man of culture.. Vector is the savior in keeping zexal alive and making it interesting. But Vector deserves first place.. Marik can't compete to Vector.
I also forgot to mention number 9 has an absolutely fantastic voice actor.. My favorite VA in all of anime.
ZA WARUDO sorry I had to xD
Yugioh Everything also I have to know
what's your favorite decks of arc-v ?
you weeb ahah
I'm between him and Yuya and Yuri's VA (Kensho Ono). Not missing the Dio memes in GX though. XD
Not to kick on your toes, but in the case of number 9, didn't Pegasus do that first?
That explains so much. =) The Japanese voice actors for Yu-Gi-Oh's main characters are amazing. Kenn was absolutely awesome and so was Miyashita but Miyashita doesn't seem to have appeared in anything since =( I hope he's okay.
Who here thinks that Ryo ( good bakura ) is the most unlucky character in the first season
Samini the B watch dsod to find out more what he’s like :)
In the entire anime really
He says hi then he immediately gets possessed and in DSOD he got attacked because of that
Yami bakura should be number one, first villain that doesn't care about his life point and risks all to win
Nah Don thousand.
@David Noel Also Bukura was planning his revenge against the pharaoh since the start
Leon Müller he only lost due to plot armour sadly, he as himself could’ve made the whole show much more exciting but Konami had to kill him off and give him no chances throughout the series
No don thousand beacuse don was trapped by astral in the shawdow realm and he seeks revenge ageists the world he had the power to destroy the world but the only reason he didn’t is beacuse Yuma went super sayin 3 on him
Leon Müller like I imagine how cool it would be for him to beat yugi in season 5, it could’ve made that season more intriguing than it already was
I would have put Bakura as number one.
Very deep, but also true. Yami Bakura and Vector both as the top two even though Yami Bakura and Don Thousand are considered master manipulators.
Bakura is the best, true and strongest villain. Also, he was badass in all his version.
Legion no his name it’s Florence
Gagaagagag strongest villian is Zone or Don Thousand

How about a top ten useless side characters? Like Tristan
The top half of that list would be all the Zexal side characters xD
No not Tristan (jk)
Are we going by "Top" as in "The 'Best' Useless Characters" or "Top" as in "The 'Most' Useless Characters"?
If the former then Arc-V would hold nearly EVERY spot, but if it's the latter I'd agree with putting Yuma's buds there.
Maybe a list for a future video!
vichetisicky yeah with the Arc-V side character you could appreciate that they tried and simply were outclassed by people with better decks, whereas with the Zexal and DM cast I found myself asking why are you even here?
Favorites:
10) Sayer
9) Camula
8) Yubel
7) Quattro (when it counted)
6) Kalin
5) Nash
4) Number 96
3) Yuri
2) Bakura
1) Marik
Z-one, Yuri, Bohman and Vetrix are my favorites
Jacob Iliaster bohman is an interseting antagonist tbh
I don’t really consider Nash a villain. And while 96 is an excellent villain I don’t really like him as a character
1. Vector - i loved everytime this guy was on screen he was so entertaining to watch and satoshi hino knocked it out of the park with the VA
2. Z-One- The guy behind pretty much everything in 5Ds and all his evil was just to save the future but in most extreme ways. (Justified Evil)
3. Bakura/Zorc Necrophades - So much mystery with this guy and to reveal he is a part of the devil himself and final boss, also Bakura himself was great sadistic and fun
4. Marik/Melvin- his motivations were good and Melvin was just a psycho that was fun to watch
5. Yubel- a problem created by the protgaonist due to his choices and behind the best season of Gx, manipulated many, ripped apart friendships Judai built up, and used his inner darkness against him and yea had a great redemption
6. Number 96/Don Thousand- I loved the design of Don Thousand and his voice was sinister and had a commanding presence that you beleived this guy was the Barian God, his motivations didnt really become fully reveal till the end and even though he lost he may still be out there "I am chaos" He also manipulated the other Barians and turned them into villains, as for No 96 he was revealed as a part of Don Thousand andu ntil then he was like Yami Bakura, just chaos for everyone lol
7. Nasch- as a guy said down there, he was the best plot twist and reveal Zexal gave (which had a lot of great plot twists and reveals) his motivations were not really evil but the will of Barian World: To just live and his rivalry with Yuma was always great
8. Yuri- Whenever he was on screen it was a delight he was so calm and creepy that you were interested by him, i wish they used him more then what they did but he was great
9. Dartz - this guy i enjoyed as he always felt two steps ahead of everyone and his "pet" The Great Leviathan one of my favorite monsters
10. Maximillion Pegasus - loved his Va in both Sub and Dub and was just a fun guy to watch redeemed and got to come back throughout, also good motivation of wanting to bring your wife back
Yubel should have been higher in my opinion on the grounds that she is one of the few of not only villains to not be properly defeated
Definitely fair! A lot of people do have her higher, in hindsight maybe she is a bit low on my list
@Kyero Nelma I agree. In fact the same could also be said for Z-one.
@Kyero Nelma Goku or Vegeta aren’t antagonists unless Vegeta is the villain and Yubel is the villain she wanted to untie the dimensions which would be too chaotic and would destroy them also you could say someone like Bakura shouldn’t be in the list since he duels for revenge for what happened to his people
@Kyero Nelma Yubel was evil she was literally possessed by the light of destruction before that I guess she was more an anti hero
Yuberl lost the first duel with Judai and Johan though
And one of his lines to Aknadin was “No matter what type of torture I give you, it would never be enough to rectify what happened at Kul Elna.”
Did the anime include any of this?
What’s happening?”
The entire season, Thief King isn’t even Thief King.
I agree.
Me too
Eh, you're overhyping him a bit.
It wouldn't matter because 4 kids would have just gotten rid of it all anyway and anime and manga are to different things
Yubel came close
Zarc is perfect obviously no flaws at all...just dont watch the dub

Here goes my list:
10 - Divine.
Hahaha! :') Oh god, this made my day. Someone please pin this. Also didn't know that Batman fact, that was really cool.

4. Yubel - masterminded everything in Season 3 like you said
3. Bakura
2. Vector - psychotic troll? Yes, please

Dishonorable mention to Zarc for hijacking a plot that was doing decent enough without him.
Nice list! And nice dishonorable mention!
did he hijack the plot? wasn't he being foreshadowed for a while?
I've always really liked Kiryu, the dark signers arc in general is one of my favorites, and while Godwin wasn't that great, I always found Kiryu really intimidating and a really well done villain.
Crow would’ve made a great one

MELVIN hahaha I love it xD
alot of people like vector i noticed and i had a feeling he would be on the list somewhere. and i will give him credit for being one of the best villains in yugioh. one of my favorite villains of all time as well.
That's a testament to how dreadful Arc-V's "villains" were.
DenyingEnigma95 you are very smart because your number 1 is Bakura
Yuri would be so much better if his redemption wasn’t rushed.
I'm fine with Marik being number 1 but Bakura is more entertaining to me ahah
Keep it up I can't believe you're almost at 15k. Unbelievable, cheers bud!
Yeah thats def a good way to look at it, it's interesting that that is the case! But im glad you enjoyed and thank you JRC!
Vector was one of the few things I did like about Zexal; he was indeed a crazy villain.
My favorites:
Yami Marik
Yami Bakura
Vector
Yubel
ZONE
I love these four because I loved how sadistic and pure evil they were.
ZONE is a guy that again, just missed my list, but is LOVED by a lot of the community! Definitely 5 great villains right there
I don't see Z'One as an evil character. While the final main villain in 5Ds and a master manipulator, his back story and character development suggests more of a tragic character than anything else. I thought the duel between him and Yusei was extremely well-written.
Zone is basically Hitler
"Did I mention pure evil?"
I lost it at this part. xD

Kudos to the guy behind him, he's set the bar really high for any villain that follows.
Meh Bakura just...4? Come on...he should be first....
Chaos of madness Agree i mean Bakura is cool and all but it took him almost every season for him to be the top dog which it's pretty weird sense he always loses to Yami
meh... bakura honestly is disapointing, for someone that is actually zork the lord of darkness, he was way too weak
He lost quite a lot in the anime but in the manga...well that's another story. My guy was brutal.
Loved Sayer. He is a really good villain in the Yugioh 5D's World Championship 2010 game for DS, which your character is a member of the arcadia movement. I don't want to spoil anything in case you want to check it out sometime.
My top 10 Yu-Gi-Oh Antagonists are:
10. Z-Arc/Yuri the Main Character is the Villian and he is why Arc-V takes place, plus The duel between Yuri vs.Yusho and Then Yuya best Duels too
9. Divine - he is so evil and I never like the Arcadia Movement
8. Pegusues - I love his Toon deck, but really he deserves more
7. Agami - he needs a series as he needs more of a story and I hated his deck in the Movie
6. Nasch - Shark during the Barian vs Astral World Arc and going against Quattro then Yuma best
5. Vector- my last Zexal Character as I never really like Zexal but Vector has always been my favorite villain especially after he killed Shark's Sister, Meran or Rio and Durban by draining energy from Nasch
4. Dartz - Dartz is close to one of my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh! Villians as he is the first person to be able to lead a team like Raphael to show a more darker version of Yami, best Arc.
3. Bruno - a friend turn against Yusei during the Z-One Arc in Season 4 and one of the best duels from 5DS in my opinion
Glad judai forgived her easily on what she had done.
I really like your list, but for me as a fan of 5Ds there has to be Kalin in my top list! I even think the Dark Signers Arc has to be one of my favourite arcs in all Yugioh..
Here's my list:
5. Bakura
4. Valon
3. Yubel
2. Marik
1. Kalin
Thanks for sharing! Kalin/Kiryu is an enjoyable villain!
For me it's Yami Bakura, Vector and Yuri (no contest)
I thought bakura would at least make your top three, especially since the millinium ring is responsible for so much in duel monsters and the new movie
Orichalcos was awesome, Dartz should have made it for me since he was causing massive fear and destruction
I think he Bakura is the best villan I would want duel him
Yess! I Knew that Quattro would make this list. I wonder if he's more devious in the sub.
He often makes me wish I were him.
chubkuriboh who doesn't want to be Zorc? Everybody wants a dragon for a dick
Anonieme Tippers lol
My List, note, i hate rushed redemptions and enjoy well intention extremists
10. Aporia, Jose, Placido, Luciano, maybe a cheat entry, but i consider these 4 one person. every duel they were in had this wonderful air of menace, and he actually challenged the 5D's crew to find new ways to beat him.
9. Lawton, i love me an irredeemable bastard, Lawton is what made the Crashtown arc for me
5. Yami Marik, sadistic, brutal, only let down by the fact that he technically lost to Joey, reducing his intimidation quiet a bit
4. Saio, the most massively involved with a seasons plot villain of the bunch, shame his season kind of sucked overall
3. Yubel, levels of threat and success are massive, as well as being the only villain who never really got beat at the end
2. Bakura, long term scheming and creepy factor at its best
Lawton! That's a unique one, but yeah him and Barbara were horrid people xD
Pegasus is my favourite. He was intimidating, yet hilarious. Fricking unique villain.
For me...
1. Vector
2. Bakura
3. Maximillion Pegasus
4. Yami Marik
5. Tron
6. Dartz
7. Lawton & Barbara
8. Yubel
9. Number 96
10. Professor Cobra
ALOT of people love dartz, which is why i gave him a shout out at the end, that whole arc just never has clicked with me for some reason!
Adam The Gamer
he was responsible for his henchmen's horrible past
Yeah he wasn't an in your face villain that's for sure I mean we only really got to knew how much of an evil bastard Dartz was when it was revealed that he killed Raphael's family, Arranged the bombing of Alistairs down and set-up Valon for those crimes as a kid. Speaking of which I also really liked Raphael, his motives as a villain may have been off the mark but as an anti-hero he was pretty badass.
Yesss, my fave made it to #2(would have wanted him as first but #1 is more "villain" worthy, I'll admit). Overall, great list!
considering how much you talk about Vector, I honestly got surprised when he wasn't #1... imo though, Vector's my fav villain, Yami Bakura at #2 and Jubel at #3... or actually, i'm not sure if I wanna place Jubel there or Zarc, cuz I really enjoyed the concept of the protagonist also being the antagonist
actually yami bakura is the best villain not only because he is pure evil but because he set the tension for the rest of the show.
once he transfer portion of his spirit into yugi's puzzel you knew he is gonna be the final villain of the show. the puzzel was what unit yugi and yami yugi together, the main characters of the show and was their main power source. a few episodes later he even laugh when yami yugi and Tea was in domino square and yami yugi couldn't detect the source because he laugh from inside the puzzel. he just gave a clue to yami yugi and the viewers that he is the real villain and not Marik
I had to rewatch that scene to remember, it was pretty brutal for sure
I LOVED 5Ds but none of the villains really stood out! Could definitely make a solid case for DS Kiryu though
Mask Gamer ea
You must be in Mizary!
I love Vector and his puns XD
I thought number 1 is for Kaiba. Lol. For me Yami Bakura should get #1 spot because of his plan to destroy both worlds(Ancient Egypt and Present time) while Marik concentrated on getting revenge to the Pharaoh by destroying him along with the present time. Yami Bakura is way creepier than Marik.
Yami Marik didn't care about revenge. In the subs he said that he wanted every life form apart his own to be eradicated.
Yami Bakuras last words when he lost to Yami Marik "Say goodbye to my fangirls for me"
IMO the coldest of the antagonists would have to be Don Thousand of Zexal.
I like Bakura more than Marik but they're both great.
Also, kinds hoped to see some more 5D's villains.
Good list. My list is very similar to you but different order.
Really can't decide my 6-10 so I'll just leave my top 5 XD
5. Marik - Pretty much the same reason as in the video, but adding his duel against Jonouchi that totally blew my mind.
4. Shark - Plain and simple, that twist
3. Yubel - Exactly the same reason as in the video
2. Z-one - The only villain in YGO that is actually in the grey "zone", not black and white.
1. Tron - I liked him ever since he first appeared. The way he defeated Dextra/Droite and the moment he defeated Kaito made me hate and love him at the same time (if that makes sense lol).
But but... Dylan why isn't Supreme King Dragon Zarc number 1? XD He was so well thought out and full of conflicting emotions.... Oh wait...
zarc does have an awesome theme when doing the intergration summon of his dragon. a theme of which im still trying to look for
XD XD
Zarc would've made my list if he appeared in his original form during his final duel, instead of turning to that lame ass dragon looking Yuya.
maaan. hopefully it comes out soon cause the intergration summon of supreme dragon king zarc is amazing. it literally screams i am a god. destroyer of universes and dimensions.
Nice list. I agree marik is the best. Also I think DM s2 was the best yugioh season ever.
If you also combine it with the second half of s3 then yes
After finishing Zexal I have to agree Vector is an impressive villain. The last part of the Zexal is very well written, make you wonder who will win each duel, which isn't common in the series since you almost always expect the protagonist to win, but they managed to create compelling fights that didn't involved the main character so the story was progressing all the time.
Aigami wouldn't be on my list for one major reason: He's very much a retread of Marik's whole schtick. Also, while I feel for him and his situation, blaming Bakura for it was just...was he not paying ANY attention at all?
xD That's true, BUT I dont mind him being a retread of Marik because I love Marik lol still i do see the point you're making!
my only problem with aigami is how he doesnt win a single duel.
saiyan scaris he honestly shouldve dueled Joey. joey did nothing in he movie. which was a disappoint for me
Tbh i didn't even see Aigami as a villan untill he picked up the ring
I was so sure that number 1 would be Yami Marik!!!!!!! 😊
10. Bakura (DM): Was the longest villan in DM & he had a good counterpart, but didn´t get mutch charakter besids sad past
& beeing evil.
I wonder why a lot of Arc V villians aren't on this list lol...hmmm
Edo...
Roget...
Sergey...
Dennis...
Sora...
Akaba Le-Yeah Not mentioning
10. Vector
9. Sartorius
8. Quattro
7. Pegasus
6. Goodwin
5. Z-One
4. Yuri (Pre-episode 134 lol)
3. Marik
2. Yubel
1. Thief King Bakura
Why didn't yami bakura qualify to at least top 5
Dartz should be number #1
Out of all the Yu-Gi-Oh antagonist we've seen over the years honestly marriage seems like the one that would be most likely to kill a guy even in the English dub where everything is censored he has that presence of he could definitely kill somebody if you wanted to it's that sense of fear that is present with him throughout the entire series even when his name is mentioned you get really nervous because you know something bad is about to happen I think he's a great choice for number one I totally agree with that because I don't think I've ever been more scared of a Yu-Gi-Oh antagonist then I have been with Marik Ishtar I think you hit the nail on the head with that one
I love how you kicked off this list with Sayer personally I think he's a really great villain since he's the leader of a cult and has that menacing presence whenever he's around I just got done watching your video of plot points that Yu-Gi-Oh 5DS forgot about and him and The Arcadian movement was on there and they were expanded upon and had more stuff after the dark signers Arc I think he would be higher on this list because seeing him survive the Earthbound Immortal and then continuing to lead this cult and have it still be a menacing presence in the next season would have been phenomenal but him at number 10 I can live with that because of how goat his character is given the lack of screen time and that they didn't get expand upon
Over all I have to say great list definitely a lot of great villains on here especially bakura that Millenium ring was scary to deal with whenever he was wearing it definitely an intimidating opponent so with Sayre and Merrick overall I think you're spot on definitely great job
Have not watched yet but I hope that Vector is in the list
Actually I hope that at least 1 barian is in the list
You won't be disappointed : ]
Yubel is an AMAZINGLY well done villain, especially in the dub. Cassandra Lee Morris really doesn't get enough credit for her performances in the franchise, and the fact that she was foreshadowed since THE VERY START OF GX as well as tied to Jaden (both reveal how Jaden exactly got amnesia) was well done too.
Finally I've been waiting for this and this list. My favorite is IV and I wish I saw him with more wins And Tron who I think is very bad in the fact he did that to his own sons
Yeah Tron is a bad dude! Glad you liked it!
I'm so happy to hear your take on the Dartz saga is the same as mine, there are some real problems with that season, across the board, and it's glaringly obvious, considering how great the rest of the original DM series was.
Next top: Best barians !
My top 10 antagonists:
10- Noah because he was a child already dead but alive in computers and sacrifice for Mokuba and others.
9- Don Thousand, taked all Barians Emperors lives !
8- Z-One
7- Tron
6- Marik, I remember his duel with Yugi since my childhood
5- Yuri, a annoying person with 4 girls and a good shipping with Yugo XD
4- Zarc, A big surprise for me !
Haha
1- Shark. What ? He is my favourite rival too but he was a villain before be friend with Yuma and he is Barian !
Special mentions for Amelda and Valon (Doma) for their revenges, Jean Michel Roger for worst french names fused ever and all Barians Emperors ! (Like Alito and Mizael. ;) )
Dartz wasn't the first, Yami Marik often merged with his Winged Dragon of Ra
Oh ok. I suppose i missed the duel..
Kirboo 97 He did it in his duel against Yami Bakura and Yami Yugi
Harry Savva AH !!
Bakura is the best by far
i loved Aigami in the movie and I also loved Tron was so cool and that man Bakura is my favorite villain from Yugioh as a whole front And my boy Vector is my second favorite Villians i loved his twisted sense of wickedry and Marik is just well all over the place he,s crazy evil wicked and just evil and ra phoenix mode is real nice he also had the rare hunters the best entourage in the anime keep up the godd work
Tribute to Arc-V without a single Arc-V villain! haha That is how disappointing the show has become..
HAHAHA sighs, I really thought yuri was gonna make this, but his character got butchered at the end. Next top 10s are all arc v related xD
Disappointing you know... Arc-V has the potential to be the best YGO show at around EP50. :(
We should put Kamishiro on the list. I'd say Ono too but he did give us 5D's as well.
Yugioh arc v had such a slow start. If it wasn't for that, it had the potential to be better.
Let's give a moments silents to the violent sociopath who got turned into a robot then murdered in cold blood... jee it kinda sounds stupid when I say it like that. Either way, RIP Sergey.
My List contains:
1. Yubel
2. Vetrix
3. Darth
4. Maximillion Pegasus
5. Rex Goodwin
6. Marik Ishtar
7. Zarc (Wished he duelled more but still maybe the strongest character ever)
8. Vector
9. Zone
10. Yami Bakura
Yugioh Everything you are awesome, watching your videos are the reason I got back into watching the Yugioh Series again! Keep up the amazing work!
While I like Marik, I think I like Vector slightly better ;)
(I mean them and Bakura had horrible pasts... and did a lot of horrible things in turn :/)
When it comes to fucked up things and pasts, Marik is rivaled by oh so few.
vector was my fav..him and Marik .
glaciemdraco vector is weak
YES!!! YES!!!! Marik is my favorite villain as well, oh man I'm so happy lol.
I think darkness would be first as he predicts every yugioh series after gx
He also defeated everyone except Jaden and Kaiba
I pretty much agree with your list but I would remove sayer, he didn't really do anything which is a shame because he had so much potential. A psychic focused arc would've been amazing where they take down arcadia but sadly it didn't happen because of the cult stuff you mentioned in a previous video. Probably Darts or Noah goes on that list for me instead and maybe I shift the ordering around slightly.
For me I think a rough list would look like:
10) Aigami
9) Noah/Darts
8) Sartorius
7) Pegasus
6) Rex Goodwin (He was kinda a backstage villain so although he had very little screen time he was a villain for ages and orchestrated most of the original series of 5Ds)
5) Yubel
4) Vetrix
3) Vector
2) Marik
1) Bakura (I'm a bakura fanboy I'm afraid)
Honourable mention: Aporia and his split forms and Paradox they were trying to save the world but doing it badly which appeals to me for some reason.
Warning, mini rant:
Zexal is such a weird series for me, because I really dislike Yuma and hate Kotori as she is literally just a cheerleader, then Cat girl and rocket train girl were a bit low quality and just gimmicky in my opinion.

That could be a vid for the future! Thanks for the suggestion!
I can't believe you put Bakura at 4, he should be at number 1!
Bakura almost fucked up atem three times and he was creator of shadow games. So fk off niggaa.
@Chaos of madness xD
Also Bakura(Yami Bakura has bunny ears)
I agree for the most part except Bakura being first and Marik second. Bakura almost destroyed the world and the only that saved it was a clutch fusion at the end. He killed Exodia and even the three god cards weren't enough till they fused.
Kicking off this Arc-V bonanza week with not a single villain from Arc-V on this list. Let that set the stage for the rest of the week...
if one had even made it on there it probably would have been yuri
HAHAHA I promise, a lot more arc v content will come this week xD
lol yea i 100% agree with you on the why you didn't include yuuri on the list. i was so so SO looking forward to his redemption arc which is why i had him as my favorite arcv character because i had a feeling he was going to turn out good. of course that never happened and i was severely disappointed when he just suddenly was shown cheering for yuuya the last few episodes. in the end i still love him for his potential and the same can be said for the rest of arcv
i also agree with most of your list, though i'd have to say that vector is number one for me, just because the reveal of him being a barian was so shocking and well done in my opinion. and just thinking of how much work he did just to troll yuuma for that amount of time (which wasn't really necessary?? he just did it for shits n giggles) never fails to amuse me. plus his backstory that was given and his death scene? he was just such a great villain and character to me
i look forward to more of your videos!
Thank you! Really glad you enjoyed! = )
Marik is my favorite too. I love psycho evil villains and I love villains with an understandable motive. Marik is a mix of both
5. Vector
4. Bakura
3. Yuri
2. Aporia and the 3 emporerors
1. Yubel (Criminally underated)
When I was young and duel monsters was ongoing, I picked up Forbidden Memories for the PS1 and from then on I speculated that the evil spirit of the ring was Heishin from that game because they had a like goal in obtaining all the millennium items.
who wants a hug
IT'S A TRAP! xD
Not me XD
Vector
I see you're a man of culture.. Vector is the savior in keeping zexal alive and making it interesting.
But Vector deserves first place..
Marik can't compete to Vector.
