Talk about free country. We r not in one. We literally live in a nanny country full of dumb laws like this. The man bought the property, pays his taxes, therefore he should have the right to do whatever he wants as long it’s not in anyone’s harm or concern! Sooner we will be paying for carbon tax for breathing out CO2.
Correct. You are free to obey the laws as decided by the majority of the citizens. 'Free country' does not mean: free for all', as in it is a free for all to do as they jolly well want. That is what is called society!

All these ppl stating to widen the driveway, "problem solved"....not necessarily. You normally require a Permit from the City to widen your driveway. Not all properties can have their driveway widen. Also, typically you can only park a vehicle on 1 driveway surface...entirely on gravel or a paved surface. Not a combo of each. Most cities consider that an unstable surface and therefore you can't park on it. Check with your City or town gov't office before doing anything. Bylaws are posted online for Cities and towns throughout the Province. Reporter at end explained it well as to why local gov'ts enforce property matters. Safety and overall appearance.
How is this news? It's always been illegal to do this in almost any area in the GTA. They should fine him for the extra paving to the front yard, improper drainage.
Ummm my grandmother got extra paving and she lives out there she added it so nobody could block her also you can because it’s your property I wish they would say something to her because if they don’t like it oh well to bad because it’s her property not theirs they should just mind their own business
So get some concrete and extend your "driveway" enough to cover that wheel. Not like that grass was going to stay alive being constantly run over anyways. Problem solved lol XD

Most communities have some kind of property standards, often in the form of bylaws; to promote public safety like EMS personnel and to protect property value. A person might own their property but it comes with certain community responsibilities. If a land owner doesn't like the bylaws, they can try to garner community support to have the laws changed, or they are free to sell and move elsewhere. As a land owner, I am happy that bylaws exist; they encourage good property stewardship and keep the slackers in check.

The city is ridiculous. Thus is not their business. They need to be reigned in and replaced.
Why not knock on his door first and inform him of the by-law. It’s all about money grabbing.
Just slap a patio stone under the passenger front tire. Call it a driveway extension
Need a permit
@@raprulesdude6520 Permit not required for driway extension , if curb cut is required then only permit is required.

Pave over the grass with more concrete or put a few sidewalk blocks where the tire overhangs and problem solved

How is this news? Everyone knows you can't park on your lawn.

It's not illegal 😂
He should get another ticket for extension of concrete drive way .which is illegal
Well my grandmother got that and guess what it’s been silence ever since..........
Lmao, he owns that property...what in the hell?
Find out what businesses the city council own and boycott them. Let them be short of funds instead of this, which is nothing but steeling.
Get a 1 ft square paving stone to park his wheel on and call it a driveway extension. He won't be on grass and the city can go whistle.
the ticket makes sense
No, the cop trespassed on private property.
The cop trespassed on private property and issued an illegal ticket. Hopefully they lost their job.
I got a 15 dollar ticket for something similar, it cost me 15 dollars to dispute it because of parking.
This is a pure cash grab. That officer did not even have permission to be on his property.
Doesn't look like there is room for 2 cars, throw up some gravel and problem solved.

Just pour more concrete
Dig up the lawn and pave problems solved

put some bricks or concrete slabs for that front right tire.

rip the ticket that's ridiculous screw them
