Im conflicted here because on one hand i think you are a good person giving solid advice and i think you would make a good therapist. However i also have a bit of a philosophical background and tendency to want to argue as a relentless contrarian. But to sublimate my argument with a concurrent agreement, I will just say: i appreciate the utility of pragmatism and optimism, even if such things aren't for me personally, however i do think it's important to be mindful of the variables, contingencies, caveats, deviations, etc, and to remember that in some instances certain individuals may be in such a dark place that they may not be receptive to the message, but it still may help them in the future when they are ready.
yeah aiming to be a squash champion starting at 40 is not going to be fruitful but you can learn to play squash at 40 and make it a very competitive and fullfilling hobby sometimes is too late, you have injured somebody, you may have caused lots of pain being unconsious, but it is not too late try to make it up agree with you; do what you need to do, dont give yourself fearful excuses not to do what calls you, just do it, but it its too late for some stuff
Simple equation for beeing good at something is just: sucess = practice time + 0.1*your capabilities. You can do way more than you think in a span of a single year.
It’s to late to have a family and babies when your fiancé just died because of cancer 😢 I am to devastated to even consider loving someone else , not to mention meeting them and getting to know them 😔😞 but you are right - grab what you love , try doing things you love 🫶 no matter of age … except for having babies and family 😞
not really, if you are under 60 it really is not "too late" for anything. unless you made the stupid mistake of getting married and having kids at an early age, then you're kinda stuck but still all hope wouldn't be lost, it'd be harder, but still possible.

Fine, let me add a few more things that can inhibit your plans. A) Poor health. B) Accidents. C) Workload and debt. D) Obligations like caring for elderly parents. Now along with the "family and kids" you mentioned, we now have covered the vast majority of adults. Yeah, it is too late for a lot of them to do a most of the things they might like or dream. You do not need to be "under 60". You could be under 30 and be swamped already.

@@Wisdawms But all those are, unfortunately, what is normal. Everyone has problems and obligations and those increase as they grow older. Younger people usually are protected from those issues by their parents and relatives and this is why I said that the content creator is a bit "too young" to give such advice to people much older than her. We are not somehow bored or negative or nihilistic. We know exactly what keeps us on the treadmill of the everyday routine. For example, even the most normal things of those you mentioned, the shifting of careers can be difficult. That might be relatively easy when you are young (and you are still vibrant and have to care only about yourself), but almost terrifying if you have any of the A to D (plus the family and kids) obligations that were mentioned earlier.
