Nah, a rubber band doesn’t look as good 😂 I am a big fan of these. But for my recent leather purchases, this type is what I was and would be carrying if I didn’t have those 👍🏻👌🏻
Easier to remove the cards but that’s about it. I got a few comments during the several years I carried one of these, but I didn’t like how it really scratched up my cards. The plastic films were peeling off of many of them
Also, If you get a hard metal it will scratch your phone bad when carried in the same pocket. The titanium money clip messed up my screen quite a bit so I had to stop using it
I think the Stow wallet does the same thing, but way more functionally, having the ability to carry cash and business cards without paying extra. It does it all, and better for only $59 too. I actually fold my cash in thirds... I use it so infrequently that it doesn't waste much time, and it keeps my wallet thin. I have found that once it's folded, adding new bills is easy, as they succumb to the already folded bills. I think for someone who uses cash often, they would needs a wallet that has you only folding once. Great review mark!
Thanks Erik, yes I would have to say the STOW still wins in a match up and I would have to agree on the cash. I carry a couple $20's and I them so infrequently I forget I have cash with me.
I've had a titanium one for 6 years (from their Kickstarter). Hand down my favorite wallet. Nothing else I've tried even comes close. The money clip can hold a lot of bills, 30+.
I purchased DM-1 and the XSTO after watching your reviews. These are my first metal wallets. I love them both. The XSTO you can only access from one side so I keep going to the DM-1 since I can arrange cards and access them from either side. I carry some cash folded in the center and it is not a problem. I cannot believe how much I like these wallets. I never imagined that my favorite wallet would turn out to be a horseshoe looking piece of Titanium . Thank You for the reviews.
To everyone that thinks this wallet is too pricey you’re wrong. I purchased my first one a couple of years ago since then purchased one for each of the men in my family as a gift. I also bought the titanium version. I’m between my time using this wallet I also bought hundreds of cheap, expensive, leather, tactical wallets. This by far is the best. This is the wallet for a lifetime. On their website this can also be engraved. I thought this wallet was expensive at first too but it’s really not. It’s for certain people that use mostly credit cards.
I've been using the 12-card titanium version for a few years now and none of my credit cards have pealed. I don't carry cash, but I use the money clip to store receipts. It's not the best option because the money clip is tight. This is by far my favorite minimalist wallet. I have a Dango Dapper, the Travax Contour, the Pitka MagEZ, and others so I have a few wallets to compare it to. You’re right about it not being optimal for softer cards. I put the softer cards between 2 hard cards, and it seems to work well, but it is a hack. Fortunately for me, I don't have many soft cards.
I have the titanium version as well. I think the aluminum one was better. The titanium clamps down on the cards too tightly not making it as easy to scroll through.
Great review! It's probably the most extreme minimalist wallet I've ever seen so far. When it comes to minimalist wallets, I've never been comfortable with cash being exposed in one form or another - that's just asking for trouble if you happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I got a money clip with my Bogui Clik wallet (more or less exactly the same, they just switched the design around), however, that got annoying and so I stopped using it in the UK. This is down to how large our notes are, even when folded. I agree about the cost of the DM1 though. It is very high for what it is.
Mine failed at about 7 years, started to get loose. It was still awesome while it lasted, but needs a rubber band to provide a little more tension now, sortof ruining the look.
It’s not. You get quite a quality product manufactured in the US. I’ve gone through many wallets over the years. This is one I keep coming back to. Also one I gifted to all of the men in my family.
they're both good, I wouldn't have a problem carrying either, but personally the DM1 with the money clip. I like more sleek looks to my metal wallets, not so much the EDC type.
@@michaelpatrick6814 I would recommend a different money clip the one sold by them isn’t great I gave it to my brother. Let me know if you’d like a link.

It looks crazy minimal, it is much overpriced and in titan with titan clip the price is around 200 bucks. i bought the titan combination in the newest version and i love it. ;-)
In my opinion, folding into thirds does not take more time than folding over twice. Still two folds. Sure, it might take a few minutes of practice to do it just as quickly, but I disagree with the argument that it takes forever to do.
@@turner02 I would have to say yes. The definitions have evolved over the centuries from a bag that holds things to a "flat, folding holder for money and cards". I thought the ridge wallet was over priced but holly shit this wallet is like ten times worse with its price becuase at least the ridge can hold cash for 70$ and this cant even do that no no no
I hate these over minimalistic wallets like this but this one is so over priced and a complete and utter ripoff. There are so many other wallets that do that same thing as this wallet for much cheaper, aka the summit wallet and others. And for 70 t0 80 dollar for a slab of aluminum is just stealing peoples money. At least the money clip should come with “wallet” not make me pay even more for a wallet that already isnt worth it. If this came with the money clip and a tray for coins and the like i would still think its over priced but would still be better

Nobody is using a rubber band... I had a wallet once made completely out of duct tape. It was actually pretty well made 🤣.

Nate Bortolini, valid point Nate. I concur. Mine did this as well. Actually, I just peeled one off this week and it looks better now than before. 😂

Agreed. The money clip idea was good, but notes still protruded and overwhelmed the style of the wallet. It really is a card-only wallet.
If you carry less cards you can shove cash in between them. My dad does this.

For a card only wallet, I would say it meets the needs of very minimalist people, or a night out type wallet for quick use. But it is limited.

It’s basically a metal thong or bikini disguised as a wallet. 😆
