It's quite amusing seeing foreigners views of Haiti when they already have a preconcieved fearful image of it. I've been there numerous times and have always felt safe. I honestly believe vloggers set up their videos with this allure of danger to make there videos seem more entertaining, but I couldnt help but question why I didnt see any of the dangerous experiences you encountered in any of the video. Also haiti is a top destination for the enlightened travelers who can see past the bad rep it recieves. Although it does have deep rooted political and economical turmoil, it is a beautiful place and a gem none the less.

I couldn't agree more with this video.
My father lived in Haiti for 4 years and every year would be completely different from the one before as on one hand you would see small developments like a new traffic light in Petionville but at the same time massive steps backwards like major protests about increasing fuel prices. But then you have the amazing beauty of Haitu outside of Port Au Prince. From small villages in the middle of the mountains to fishing towns like Gonaïves, the country is so diverse.
So, Haiti has its flaws and still has a lot of work to do, but even now Haiti is definitely worth a visit

There has always been political unrest in Haiti but I see now it has gotten crazy. I was in Port-au-Prince two years ago and it wasn’t like that. Don’t worry Diane, this is just a vice news type propaganda video. Unfortunately, the fight for social equity is still ongoing in Haïti; I hope one day they get the social democratic gouvernement they’ve been fighting 40 years for, they deserve. It’s not worst than it was, and isn’t any better. This video is just an insulting misleading montage makings lots of insulting sensational claims with no primary sources back them up. Haïti has a long way to go, but downgrading videos like this hurts more than it helps. It contributes to misleading stereotypes that dismiss protesting Haïtians social awareness and patriotic revolt for social equality in Haïti. I call this video a terrorizing attack on Haïti and it’s people struggle fair political representation. For gay people, I find them military in diversity exploration. Like what do you expect during a national protest 🙄 . Their white superiority complex just fell out their gay card 🙄🙄🙄. You seem like a great person Diane, don’t get involved with these monsters.
