1. you don't label people (example: "this is a terrible person") because you know their behavior is a byproduct of their past experiences 2. you don't expect people to give you support, read your mind, and magically know your needs and fulfill them 3. you can apologize and mean it without feeling ashamed or self-deprecating afterwards 4. you have confidence, knowing nobody truly has everything figured out; you don't feel like you need to be special or perfect to feel good about yourself 5. you have the courage to be imperfect; you are kind to yourself 6. you let yourself make mistakes; 7. you let life be hard; no one rides for free, life is uncertain and out of your control; you don' resist discomfort 8. you let other people have opinions about you, without trying to control their perception of you 9. learning to let yourself RESPOND and not REACT (when you have an emotion be aware of what is actually going on); not taking things personally without thinking about it 10. say NO with as much ease as it took the person to ask
I really like how you came out right away saying that emotional maturity does not make you a better or worse person. It kind of helps bring defensiveness down and makes me listen in a more informational way.
Its not their jobs to meet our needs. This hit me hard because I struggle with abandonment and depression. This video really helps me see I need to be more responsible for me and not just others.
I really enjoy listening to Julia. Her teachings come in handy during emotional low times for me. I find them good for bed time listening. It frees my mind of negativity before falling asleep. I also like her lovely voice which has a tone that breaks every few seconds. I find that appealing.
Long story short, I've dealt with depression, anxiety, and panic attacks since I was a a young teen, I'm 20 now. Since the beginning I dived into self-help and tried to increases self worth, control thoughts, change habits, etc.. Only talked to two therapists in my life but never went through with it. My last major breakdown was in Dec, 2019 after a few weeks I recovered, since then things have balanced themselves out (something I've only dreamed of before), still have my same habits of being healthy physically, good habits, self awareness, etc.. I've been living normally this year, meaning without mental issues but I've still felt something was missing that I haven't fully grasped. Maybe an illustration will help explain - an elephant that was chained down since he was small realizes its futile to fight against it after years of being tied down. By the time its an adult (weighing tons) its conditioned to believe its still futile to break way from the small chain tied down to a chair. I am the grown elephant who has not realized he is free. After many years of having bouts of depression that lasted days to weeks that sometimes turned to months. Creating anxiety that eventually led to panic attacks which made it worse. But now I haven't worried about any of this for months, I'm no longer thinking if this is finally the day my family will realize I've committed suicide. My point is your first few statements helped me realized I was never a less person nor am I a superior person now. But am simply me, someone whos always wanted to feel better to get through the day and successfully do tasks without feeling drained and negative, to feel good accomplishing small goals and setting bigger goals and actually going though with it. To feel in control of my emotions and life. To actually feel anything when something good or even bad happened. To have a conversation and not feel like I'll have an anxiety attack at any moment. To as you put it "like life more" as simple as it is, its true and now that I'm capable of doing so, and that is just it, my next step is to accept that I'm no longer bound to a chain but am free to do anything I want to get the most out of life. Granted I don't think I'm "cured" and am free from all ailments. So I will continue to be mindful and self aware of my habits, actions, feelings, etc. Thank you Julia for this video and all the help.
OMG Julia.... this is it... this is the growth.. this is the work we are doing in the ‘shift group’... this is it.... yes yes yes x 10. If we can answer all these things with “yes, that’s me” instead of “yeah, I know”, then we are there.... this one is a BIG one!!!!
I have learned so much about myself watching 2 of Julia's videos that I didn't know before and after watching 27:12 the first one I asked my wife if she had spoken to Julia about me, because I really thought she was talking about me😂. Thank you Julia for your help with my marriage. ❤
Thank you for putting these videos together for us. I do enjoy the format, your lighthearted delivery making it fun with touch of seriousness when needed. I particularly appreciated your awareness of, and pointing out, that those who have done bad things at some point in their lives, may not necessarily be bad people, they very likely had adverse and painful experiences as a child that left them ill-equipped to manage their emotions.
after finding your channel, i find myself learning more and more about myself everyday. thank you for allowing everyone to be able to learn some new tools and find some positivity in life. it helps a lot 💕
it's my perception that it should be.. or it was, already..and now,...lol I see my thoughts, here yes!!!- be present IN the NOW each and every now good/ bad. doesn't last so..I UN stuck...I see wow. a touch of healing , today
Wooow JK ... Now you have made the best video of the year! An awesome in-depth explanation in many areas and with a huge overview that ties it all together in a valuable basic package and a tool that no one can do without ... Thank you! ! !
This was great. Powerful content. I've said this before and I will say it again, Julia Kristina. You are one of the most expressive speakers on youtube. I love your rhythm and cadence and your pauses, dynamics and speed variation when you speak. It really makes you compelling. Are you a musician?
A fabulous video. I look forward to the reaction..no more whack a mole video. I shared this one out.one of my favorites.thsnks. I'm 3 days to 52. You were one of my favorite parts of my trip around the Sun.
Your videos on emotional maturity is what I really needed to understand myself & others. I am glad that I found you. The topics you covered as so deep and are the core aspects of emotional maturity.
I go through your videos really very slowly. I take notes along with listening, and i listen to understand and absorb. So i take my time, and at any given time if i become emotional because it hits close to home, i take a second to pause and really absorb what you had to say. Sometimes i leave a video halfway to then come back and continue at another time because i take in one thing at a time, I'm trying to learn and accept these things about myself and i will read it till i believe it before i continue. Its difficult having all these chapters in me unfolded but it's definitely what i need. Thank you for what you're doing❤️
I am so excited when I get an alert for a new video from you! I am getting through one of the roughest periods of my life with your guidance, real and genuine insights and the sense of humor and lightness woven somewhere in the message. Thanks to you!
Well I’ve just recently found you, listened to a few of your lessons, and found them to be most refreshing! I also read people’s endearing comments and agree with all the ones I read! You’re bringing out really good stuff hear Julia. Thank you 😊
I so needed this today. I shared it to my daughter. Married to a covert narcissist with 30 years, I've been diagnosed with PTSD and I'm very down with the last week. I needed a gee-up, thank you
I have so much gratitude for you !!!! Your work in helping others has changed the way I view many areas of my life . Thank you so very much …. You are amazing . You have a way of teaching that is so relatable and inspiring and of course healing !!!!!
Love all of your content and appreciate you adding more. Literally has been helping me to be more mindful and understand myself and how I feel. All of the points in this video hit me. Thank you for sharing all of your knowledge and continuing to share! ❤️ I also follow you on IG ❤️
Not expecting someone else to always meet you’re needs (when there is a sense of inconsistency). Im such a perfectionist so a lot of this was a reminder to embrace my imperfections. Always judging myself out loud or when I talk to others I judge myself.
Thank you Julia! Excellent help and all of it is connected. All beneficial! Look forward to your next deep dive into confidence related stuff and the power in saying “No.”. Best to you
Hi Julia..I’m a new subscriber and really enjoy watching your videos...this what I needed to hear and how i need to feel good about myself. Thank you!!!
Hello I'm earlyyyyyy Imma watch now Edit after watching: I really relate to the these two points; I've been doing them personally and they make things a lot better: #1 understanding that behind the "bad" behaviour of people is an offset of their own pain , shame , experiences etc #2 not feeling guilty for doing mistakes and rather taking them as a lesson ! Thank you so much for this video it's has super important points that everyone needs to hear ! ❤
This is rather timely and a reminder of lessons I have forgotten. I see my therapist today and I am going to ask her to start challenging me more to get myself out of my stuckness. Thank you Julia :P
Thank you for the work you do. It would be great to see a video on siblings who have different relationships with their father. It's taken me years to realize that my reaction to a sibling was actually rooted in jealousy. It's a closer relationship with my dad that I want but, sadly, have never achieved.
I love you, your channel and the content! It is always on point, and you need MORE subscribers!!! After growing up in a primary environment with adults who have hilariously fragile egos, I experience the rest of the world like a novelty! 13:28 FIRE!!!!!!! I feel so empowered! =)
This makes sents down to earth human and being real and true. Thank you for the videos you do. A nice different perspective to a higher level of self healing and muchirity and personal growth. Thank J. Kristi have a great week. This video is helping and powerful! 😺😺😃🏖🏖😉🌈🚲🛴⛵🏕🏖😃
I stumbled upon you and I cannot thank you enough for putting this out there! I'm beginning to realize A LOT of this and I'm SO glad I have this wonderful tool that can help me grow! I also listen to Jesse Lee Peterson and Moojiji and the daily devotion. All of these have helped me along the way to wake up and keep my eyes open and to focus more on myself than THINKING about how others see me or what others should be doing for me! ALL OF OUR THOUGHTS ARE LIES! Silence the voice inside and quiet the mind! It is the only way to find TRUE peace ☮️
Hello Kristina, As a human living in a robot society vortex, I am ok ✅ with me! I am ok to verbalize NO to a robot or human easier then when I would be too quiet and think 🤔 it but not say it! I appreciate you and your little you tube presentations too! Thank you for being a good human and allowing emotions! Ps. My bleeding stomach ulcers thank you too! Happy holidays
I love this. My husband and I are struggling right now and I think we are at 2 different levels of emotional intelligence. The issues we are facing are mostly based the points you discuss in this video. Through my professional career, I have received far more training in these subjects than my husband. My upbringing was also very different from his in that my parents had discussions/fights/etc that involved emotion and conflict whereas my husband's family didn't display emotions hardly at all. I have been married 15 years and have never seen my in-laws raise their voice to each other. I love your points here and I think it's important that we understand that everyone is at different levels and that we can all strive to be more mature in our emotions. We have a program at work called the R-factor. It teaches about respond vs. react and how one's emotional intelligence plays into that process. I am looking forward to your spin on respond vs. react and how you see it. The R-Factor program was developed by someone with a religious background and not necessarily a psychology background, but I can see quite the overlap because the process is very simple, yet hard to master.
I think with some of us, past experiences can shape future behavior so if for example we have had someone, after apologizing to them, ignore us or not acknowledge the apology then this in turn can affect current feelings and future apologies. Every interpersonal interaction can affect us so if im dealing often with people who are in a bad way they can in turn bring us down. its good to remember that everyone of us helps in shaping the world of another-bad or good, hopefully good! So with apologies in general, try and be gracious.
Hi Julia. First of all thanks again for another great presentation. Second I would like to apologize again for not being as attentive as I usually am but now that I have a Facebook page much of my time is spent creating content for it. As always your video was well worth the listen and although I cannot watch as many as I would like to I will continue to watch as many as I can. Thanks again and take care.
"We are all climbing our own Mt. Everest. We fall, we scrape our knees, we bleed, we cry and we rejoice. Then we repeat." This is a belief that I have now based on life experiences and this is how I help other kids that I tutor gain confidence, because to FAIL is not the end. To F.A.I.L means, "First Attempt In Learning". All that said, it's sometimes hard for me to accept this. Weird huh?
Empathy is all about understanding other person needs before your own but surely we back fire when we are overgiving in a relation which is emotionally immature and unavaliable its better to leave such an relation which does not serve the soul purpose
Thanks Julia! this came in a good time! I was going down, on some shame spiral, and you gave a light! I'm a psychology student, and, as you know, there's such a lot of different approaches about, how do we see personality, behavior, and so on, I do love how you approach life, and self steem, in such a wonderful way, you're one great influence for me, thanks for you work! Do you mind if I ask you, what is your primary line of approach? is it behavior analysis? Thank you so much!!
I don't like the idea that we don't have to be a better person. We do. And we can. It isn't just feeling better. That is just the side effect of being able to make better decisions which is technically being a better version of oneself. Imagine leaving addiction behind, setting up boundaries, not compromising your values anymore out of guilt or shame, not letting other people have negativ effect on your behaviour anymore, learning to cope with negativ people and taking responsibility for your mistakes are all part of becoming a better version of oneself and also it will make you feel better. We do have to be better and I think the ultimate meaning of life is to become better and make better choices every day.
How do you say no to a parent that needs care? I struggle with this guilt feeling so much I quit what I'm doing to care for her. I have 2 sisters that could assume some responsibility, but don't and they don't seem to care.
Anyone who See's this message you are so valuable and special to Jesus, he died for your sins so that they can be forgiven ,come to him as you are doesn't matter how broken you think you are , he loves you so unconditionally , no matter where you've been and he knows you personally doesn't matter what you done he'll forgive and wait for you to come to him so he can give you rest no joke he loves you so much! I was spiritually dead wanted to die didn’t care about life ,I went through so much in life physically and mentally that my feeling became num in a way and I started seeking God and He found me he revealed stuff to me and why I had to go through certain stuff in my life, only to bear more fruit in my life ,I’m not telling people about Jesus because some pastor told me to or something else I’m telling people because He gives a peace that surpasses understanding 😔👍
I just wont spend time with these people I understand, but yes I wont excuse, it and then spend time...lol yes, they always try to take others down or out I am polarized, lol I'm here, tho 😁
I really agree with all of this but for.the first one,i really have to say that for ex. My father is emotionally immature and has really bad behavior over me , he doesn't accept anything,he is a manipulator and I know that probably most of the things are coming from his own trauma and childhood but i think you can spot a person when he is doing evil things coming from their soul, there is no reason for that, he just simply wants to fulfill his ego and hurts people.
1. you don't label people (example: "this is a terrible person") because you know their behavior is a byproduct of their past experiences
2. you don't expect people to give you support, read your mind, and magically know your needs and fulfill them
3. you can apologize and mean it without feeling ashamed or self-deprecating afterwards
4. you have confidence, knowing nobody truly has everything figured out; you don't feel like you need to be special or perfect to feel good about yourself
5. you have the courage to be imperfect; you are kind to yourself
6. you let yourself make mistakes;
7. you let life be hard; no one rides for free, life is uncertain and out of your control; you don' resist discomfort
8. you let other people have opinions about you, without trying to control their perception of you
9. learning to let yourself RESPOND and not REACT (when you have an emotion be aware of what is actually going on); not taking things personally without thinking about it
10. say NO with as much ease as it took the person to ask
You’re an angel!! 🙏🏽
Doing God's work ! Thanks !
Thank u
love the List,
thank you 🥰

You are so welcome about us coming back for your content. I really appreciate how you are clear and helpful with your points
Not expecting someone else to always meet you’re needs (when there is a sense of inconsistency).
Im such a perfectionist so a lot of this was a reminder to embrace my imperfections. Always judging myself out loud or when I talk to others I judge myself.
I'm speechless.. Thank you very, you were created to do this job ♥.. Wish you all the best 🌷🌱🌴..
Hello
I'm earlyyyyyy
Imma watch now
Edit after watching:
I really relate to the these two points; I've been doing them personally and they make things a lot better:
#1 understanding that behind the "bad" behaviour of people is an offset of their own pain , shame , experiences etc
#2 not feeling guilty for doing mistakes and rather taking them as a lesson !
Thank you so much for this video it's has super important points that everyone needs to hear ! ❤
Yes, EQ doesn't make you a better person nor does IQ. Morality does.
Thank you for opening with that, very important, statement.
Saying no with the same ease as the person who asked is fantastic.!!!
Ugh I love you Julia. You’re awesome.
This is rather timely and a reminder of lessons I have forgotten. I see my therapist today and I am going to ask her to start challenging me more to get myself out of my stuckness. Thank you Julia :P

Love everything you have put out, I share with my friends and family. Sometimes it causes a reaction. I have learned sooo much. Thank You 😊

👍 thanks Julia

this came in a good time! I was going down, on some shame spiral, and you gave a light!
I'm a psychology student, and, as you know, there's such a lot of different approaches about, how do we see personality, behavior, and so on,
I do love how you approach life, and self steem, in such a wonderful way, you're one great influence for me, thanks for you work!
Do you mind if I ask you, what is your primary line of approach? is it behavior analysis? Thank you so much!!
I love ur videos I needed I’m in a wheelchair ur videos help me deal with my life
You are amazing. I love you.

Julia please make a video about Cynicism.
I just wont spend time with these people
I understand, but
yes I wont excuse, it and then spend time...lol
yes, they always try to take others down or out
I am polarized, lol
I'm here, tho
😁
I really agree with all of this but for.the first one,i really have to say that for ex. My father is emotionally immature and has really bad behavior over me , he doesn't accept anything,he is a manipulator and I know that probably most of the things are coming from his own trauma and childhood but i think you can spot a person when he is doing evil things coming from their soul, there is no reason for that, he just simply wants to fulfill his ego and hurts people.
