    Thanks for this video, helped me to install it on my 2021 Le.
    One thing to note ur kit came with its own interior wiring harness which it should.
    I ran my wire through the firewall through the hatch release and it’s safe from a battery perspective.
    That’s because the interior harness needs to be installed to a power source when the car is on. I tested this connecting to the battery without the harness inside connected. The fog lights did not turn on.
    I found a spare fuse tap in my car that supplies power when the car is on, using that for power and wiring the interior harness allowed the fog lights to turn on.
    When I turned off ignition, the lights turned off too!

      Excellent way to install. I never us factory fuse panels to make sure I don’t overload them as there is only so much you want to pull from that wire going to them. These fogs aren’t pulling a lot but they will pull more than factory so I run anything like that straight from battery. Not knocking your way at all just want you to be aware. Engineer here so I had to say it 😎 Unfortunately they don’t over engineer anything anymore, just enough to do what is in the car. Glad the video helped you!

    Great video, man! I just got a Rav4 and wasn't really aware of the options when I was buying it, so I'm looking at adding a lot to it. I already put on blacked out rain guard and swapped the mirror turn signals indicator to a staged one. I also got some Raptor Lights to put in the grill, but I definitely want to install fog lights.

    Fog lights do not come with the XLE trim in 2024 which I believe you said it did early in the video. You would have to go up to XLE premium, or add/request the XLE premium package which has leather seats fog lights powered lift gate moon roof heated seats heated steering wheel. Toyota doesn’t offer a remedy or sell aftermarket fog lights for the rav4 so this is very informative and useful!!!!

      @NameItBuildIt  3 месяца назад +1

      Then they changed it in the least year. There was no Premium version of trim levels, just a new way to make money. It wasn’t like that for over 20 years since they came out with XLE not having fogs. Glad the video helped you 😎

    Hey, I need to purchase the housing, and the aftermarket wiring harness. I think the seimid fog lights are H 11, but I was wondering if the harnesses that are on Amazon will fit it. I mean, I could just in theory purchase it and have it shipped overnight or next day, and if it doesn’t work then I can just return it really quickly quickly and get one that actually does, but that’s a hassle

      Harness comes with kit in description. They will be incandescent and same as factory. Just won’t be separate led like have. Links in description has correct harness. 😎

    Did you by chance install the Alpha Rex headlights? I saw them in your thumbnail lol just noticed it
    Also, I ordered a kit. I’ll make a video of my ass attempting to remove the front bumper (I’m only 31 but I feel like I’ve not been good to my body so I feel a bit older lol) but anyway, I’ll post it up

    Can u show like how exactly to connect all the wires to which part of the car ?

    • @NameItBuildIt
      @NameItBuildIt  6 месяцев назад +2

      I can’t right now but it’s very simple. Red to battery and black to any ground bolt on the vehicle. I showed where yellow turn on wire goes to also in video. 😎

  • @cop2506
    @cop2506 8 месяцев назад +2

    Wait I’m confused
    Did you connect the “red power” to the battery and the “yellow trigger” to the parking light?

    • @NameItBuildIt
      @NameItBuildIt  8 месяцев назад +2

      Red to power, black ground to ground bolt on chassis. Yellow was relay trigger to turn them on so it went to parking light power which I showed. They come on with parking lights which is how I wanted it, but you could use included switch to turn them on independently inside cabin if you want. I just chose not to 😎

      @@NameItBuildIt oh gotcha. Okay, I’m gonna do the same as you. I’m someone who prefers to have these lights on all the time. Some fog lights have an ultra wide beam pattern that allows me to see left and right better

    • @NameItBuildIt
      @NameItBuildIt  8 месяцев назад +1

      Not a problem. Just so you know I have 2 kits- The aftermarket fog lights and mounting brackets to install since it was a RAV4 LE with no fogs from factory. Then the Diode Dynamics SAE fogs which go on the the RAVs if they already have fogs from factory or this kits installed. They are SUPER wide and an SAE pattern making them road legal. Plus really good color and LED so you won’t have to change them out pretty much ever. Much brighter than Incandescent and don’t affect oncoming traffic. I changed the whole headlights out to unbelievable aftermarket also which I’ll be doing a video on soon! Hope this helps 😎

    What size is the t tap?

    • @NameItBuildIt
      @NameItBuildIt  4 месяца назад +1

      Color denotes size so just get the same color. I don’t recommend touching the factory wiring, but I decided to do it in my case so it’s up to you what you want to do. 😎

      @@NameItBuildIt any problems lately with the fogs?

    • @NameItBuildIt
      @NameItBuildIt  4 месяца назад +1

      Not one, they use these in desert off road racing And in the worst climates in the world. I had rigid industries before these which I loved, but I think these have much better color reproduction. 😎

    • @NameItBuildIt
      @NameItBuildIt  4 месяца назад +3

      Glad to hear! The red connects to Red positive terminal on battery, black goes to any good ground connection on vehicle and yellow goes to switched positive when lights comes on. 😎

    Hello! Awaiting delivery this week of my 2024 Hybrid LE. I bought the foglight kit and harness but it did not come with any screws. Are they in the stock brackets or did you have to purchase them somewhere? Thank you in advance :)

      Congratulations on your new RAV! they didn’t come with it so I used some that I already had, only downside to the kit. Hardware store, Home Depot or Amazon should have them. 😎

      You are very welcome! I replaced the headlights also with the best ones out now. Video on that coming soon! That’s the only thing lacking in the RAV4s. I also have a 2015 in which I took out the factory projectors and put in actual HID projectors with top-of-the-line night breaker bulbs. Almost everyone I talk to says even with the high beams on you could barely see with these cars. That’s the one thing I hope Toyota works on in the future. Thanks for watching! 😎
