Got a big trip planned this October to go to Waco, San Antonio, and Galveston, Texas. at Ferncliff state park in southern Illinois gonna go to the garden of the gods tomorrow in trail around there and Saturday. We’re doing self guided kayak trips in the swamp land on the upper cache river.
I just found you two crazy characters 😂😂. I have a 4 day trip planned to a small town for a 3 day golf tournament, Greagle Ca. Trying a Hipcamp. Thanks guys.
When I saw one of your videos the first time, I thought you guys were a joke, so silly. My husband passed away last August and he did all the manly stuff when we pulled our 35 footer fifth wheel. And I wanted to get busy doing it myself, as an old lady on the road with 2 dogs. And, with the help of RUclips, I did it! But I gotta tell ya, I sat for half a day yesterday watching your videos. Full of good tips and entertaining as well. I see myself and can laugh at all of us. Thanks for being there for us, especially me. Yes, I finally subscribed! Oh my goodness, you two are so cute! 😂
Just started watching you on your trip to Alaska , of course going through Canada. First welcome....we love hearing how your trip is going. We live in Alberta. Love the mountains. I just wanted to say we did the same thing, full time RVing, for 30 years before settling down and finally sadly stopped. Still have the rig with all those memories. We totally toured North America. My advice is go go go have a whale of a time. We stopped at age of 83...
Get rid of the broom for sweeping off your slide's, I used to do that also and then I bought a little battery powered leaf blower it's the best thing I bought for the fifth wheel, gotta get one.
The method I use for figuring travel time is to divide the number of miles to travel by 50mph. This allows for fuel, potty, and food breaks. I normally set cruise at 62-63 mph.
These peeps have helped me SO MUCH with my new RV. While watching the tips we fell in love with these two. It seems RV’ing is a boomer thing and Carl & NeNe are our age so they are relatable. Thanks Hanks!!!
When Nay dragged Carl to the passenger side of the car I laughed so hard I cried and couldn’t see the show so I just listened. Thanks for making me laugh!
If you are going to Alaska by way of Seattle, one tip is try to go there at night and take 405 around the middle of Seattle. Such drivers! Love you guys!
My husband and I live in Washington state. We will camp in Oregon twice this summer, a short trip in our home state, and a longer trip to Utah I October. I definitely enjoy and learn from your videos. I am a recently retired RN and although I loved being an RN, I love the ability to plan camping trips. Have fun traveling to Alaska!
I just worry about you guys hurting yourselves when you walk and talk at the same time. I used to walk and chew gum but I had to give up gum chewing because I kept hurting myself. Keep the good stuff coming guys.
Another tip is to not place items, such as a coffee cup, on the truck rear bumper. It is easy to forget about them and then they are gone forever when heading down the road.
My husband and I have considered getting an RV so we discovered y’all just a while back. I wanted to thank you two for not only teaching us so much shout RVing, but keeping us entertained! Y’all are too funny and seriously make excellent content. Keep up the good work ❤️
Outside talking and walking is good…just don’t try to chew gum at the same time! - always fuel up the evening before(we were evacuated from two national parks in one trip..the second time I hadn’t fueled up because we didn’t want to be late for an event. Not a good experience. - apps are such a life saver compared to years ago when much of a trip was by gosh and by golly. All good advise. Thanks, and safe journey
Fantastic this is the Hank's I fell in love with walking or sitting, basics that's what it's all about. I love your other video's all the time but these are the best. Thank you guys travel safe and see you next week. 🥰🥰🤗🤗🥂🥂
I have done Alaska about 4 times, once did the ride from Colorado on a motorcycle. Only thing I can say is Frost heaves, They can launch you, really. Also, I would have a extra fuel tank of at least 50 gallons for the trip. You probably know about the Mile Post magazine, it is worth the money. Good luck
We have just passed 13 months on the road and are currently spending the summer at an RV park in our old home town area in upstate NY. This fall, we are headed west and will tour most of Route 66 from Chicago to Arizona. It will include a Grand Design Rally in Springfield, Illinois in September and conclude with a visit to the Grand Canyon in late October. Then we'll slowly wander back east and sneak in an axle upgrade in Elkhart in the end of November. After that - Jan - Mar in Port Richey Fla working on our tans. We'll be using many of your travel day trips. We're usually packed up the night before, try to stick to less than 300 miles traveled a day and make use of the TSD Logistics Fuel program.
Will you be coming to Valdez, Alaska? My husband and I work at the KOA here in Valdez! We just mad the drive a couple of weeks ago. Remember, the most stressful driving is from Destruction Bay, Yukon (about 100 miles to the USA border), then about another 75 miles, once you cross into Alaska to the town of Tok, AK. Just take your time!!! At some spots, we only averaged 30 mph because of the Frost Heaves and potholes. We made the journey without anything major broken! It's an EPIC adventure!! Safe travels!
As one who has worked around DC traffic since I have been a driver, I agree! A couple of hours makes a world of difference, unless of course there is an accident 😢
Hi Hanks, I've been binging your vids since I found you guys. I love the great real-life information. My wife [Nurse] and I are both retired and have just done our first Snowbird RV winter. We still talk about the great time we had and are planning next year's trip already. You are absolutely right, it's not for every couple ;). Not sure if you've done this but it would be great to see a spreadsheet of the delta between using all of the club/C/C discounts vs. not. We have already realized savings using Harvest Host [the Alpaca Farm] and gas cards. I'm retired military so I also have access to camps at military bases which is very affordable and super secure. Keep up the lifestyle vids guys. I love seeing a young couple having a great life. Can't wait to see your Alaska experience. BTW, Buc-ees is outstanding!
Can’t wait to see yalls trip to Alaska. Pulling the RV through Canada into Alaska is at the tippy top of the bucket list. Please vlog as much as you can! Pretty please! 😁 And thank you, for everything! ❤️ you guys!
Hanks going back to the "old skool" walking and talking format. You guys used to do that in your early videos, personally, I like it. Bonecrusher and I are also going to Canada next week, just on the opposite coast. Heading out June 6th from Philly to Acadia, then June 9th, we cross into New Brunswick. Hitting New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia (peninsula, and Cape Brenton Island). Gonna be on the road for 3 weeks, super excited. First time driving our RV into another Country. Safe travels Team Hanks!!
Hey guys!! Love your channel !! We RV full time too, we’re film makers.. we do renaissance festivals, fairs, music venues, etc… you guys do a great job with your “RV life” vs product sales… you are one of the channels that we tell people “the Hanks are legit” and encourage others to watch… we have spent some time in parks with the fake RV life channels on set filming with their actors and selling the coach brands… we really like what you guys do and that you keep it legit… keep up the good work!!
I binge watch you all the time, I don’t miss anything. Sometimes there are so many comments I can’t figure out how to get mine under the correct spot. Ha! I just have to say that I love watching u 2 as a couple. You are so funny and informative and make an amazing team! Also - you both have the most incredible smiles!! ❤
Being from West Texas and the land of Allsup’s You don’t go wrong with the burritos chimichangas, and hotlink sandwiches. Best travel food EVER. Great video keep up the good work. Travel safe 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
When passing through Tok, Alaska, please stop and say hi. For such small community, lots of RV campgrounds. I travel to Tok for work from Texas. Be aware, the roads are very rough currently from frost heaves.
Remain firmly flexible I like to say. We just finished a 3 week trip through Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky. Sometimes you discover the most interesting things in out of the way places. Stay safe Hanks and we wish you good luck and good times on your journey to Alaska.
Snacks and lunch...yes! We travel in a Motorhome and it's a game changer to have access to snacks while you're driving and then lunch time is awesome...we stop at a Rest Area, fire up the generator and make sandwiches inside.
Love love love you two! We are semi retired and take multiple trips a year in our 21' trailer. This year is our bucket list trip to AK. So glad to see you doing the same this year. Covid held us back the past 2 years. Leaving MO the first part of July, but not sure where we will cross into Canada based on fires and flooding...will know closer to departure date. We are doing a "Hanks" trip...no reservations. But that is how we usually travel. Boondocking fits our style, and will be doing a lot of it on this trip. We travel with Molly, our 7yr old, 72lb black Lab. She is a great traveler and camper. I have to make her stay in the house while loading the camper because if she gets in the camper, she doesn't want to come out. She's a goober, 😂. Safe travels and I'll be watching your trip!
Driving up the Al-Can is so beautiful. Tons of scenery and wild life. My husband and I have traveled up and down the Al-Can. Our last trip up was in June 2019. The most important thing to watch out for are the "frost heaves". We pulled our 39 ft Jayco Eagle Premier. About those frost heaves, essentially sections of highway that have lifted due to the perma frost "swelling" literally a "speed bump" which sometimes you can't see until it's too late. When a posted speed sign says 40 mph PAY ATTENTION. Hitting a frost heave going too fast can literally lift a slideout off it's gears, throwing items around the inside of your rig not to mention bending axles on the 5th wheel. Don't ask me how we know!!! I hope your using the Milepost for the entire round trip, you'll never have a more concise directions mile by mile, open gas stations, grocery stores, air pumps, oil, etc. Never go up or down the Al-Can without the Milepost!!! Good luck, have a good time and be safe.
Definitely agree with the one tip about filling up your tow vehicle the night before. If you don’t do this you may be unwilling to back track to get gas and end up heading across eastern Oregon (which I can now say is more desolate than eastern Colorado) with only 1/2 tank of gas and having the privilege of seeing the “low fuel” light come on. Not that this is experience speaking ….
0:00 walking around or sitting still y’all are still full of information and humor. I’m saving my money for a down payment, hopefully in a month or two.
I love the blogging while walking. You’re both always so easy to listen to and we absorb your wisdom! But we like the verbal exchange! We laugh out loud all the time too while watching.
Maybe remind people to change their setting for alerts too, I realized I hadn’t seen anything from you guys in a bit and now changed my setting to all!
So your heading to Alaska! We lived up there for 15 years, and we had our three kids up there! So the best advice I can give you for your trip is to purchase the Milepost. It's the Bible of the North, a must have book chocked full of information, and maps about Canada as well as Alaska. We lived in Anchorage for three years and Soldotna for 12 years. Your in for a fun adventure! Wally and Susanne Williams
thanks always for the great advice! me and my husband just got married and we’re hitting the road soon in our fifth wheel for our first travel nursing assignment together. you two have really inspired us on our journey!! thanks hanks ❤
You guys are always full of energy and. entertaining to watch . I'm always looking forward to seeing you guys every week. I'm enjoying the BettyJ ll. I named the coach after my sweetheart. a story for another time. Grandpa Jack
Thank you so much, Linda! We are so glad that the information is valuable. We appreciate your great support and for taking the time to leave such a nice comment 😊 - Kyle and Renee
I always said Alaska would be the last place I’d want to travel to. We used to have a travel trailer with an unreliable truck so it wasn’t on our list. Now we have a class A 30’ gasser and we’re broadening our horizons. We haven’t got a toad because we don’t need a new car yet and ours doesn’t conform. I’ll be glad to follow your trip and see what it has to offer.
We are on our longest trip ever. From Michigan to Mount Rushmore SD. Our first over nighter was Cracker Barrel and our second was At a new little truck stop off of 20 in Iowa. We were up early and headed out for our first campsite of the trip. Your tips just happen to be the ones we use too! Guess what???? We got us some Hanks pop at the Cracker Barrel in Juliet Illinois! woohoo
COUPLE OF THINGS / IDEAS: 1. RV Towing insurance ( personally just purchased Coach Net ) 2. Possible “club” memberships, like Elks and Moose ( many Elks have RV overnight locations with power )
Bought a B Class yesterday and although we didn’t go the trailer route your videos were helpful and yes, entertaining. Especially the dealership info…all true. You’re a cute couple and I wish you the best. Me mostly, but the wife and I will be continuing to watch as I learn about the RV world.
I like it your videos Both ways. Be flexible due to content and weather 😅. We've been RVing Not Fulltime for 23yrs. Very Good tips & the reasoning behind your tips. LOL Moments inside your RV!!! Keep up the Fabulous Open-minded Attitudes and take 1 day at a time! Always Travel Safe, Enjoy Each Other and Keep Smiling!
Today is my first ever back to back travel days and two more to follow. A lots of firsts, actually: first time out of state, first time at Cracker Barrel, first time on a time frame as opposed to go when we feel like it. Wish me luck!!
@@HappilyEverHanks I did!!! Just checked in and all set up. Can we talk about the roads in AZ though??? Last 50 miles felt like driving inside a Vitamix!!!!
Great tips! Not sure what route you’re taking to Alaska but we’re in Alberta now. Dinosaur Provincial Park in the badlands is a-ma-zing! The hill descending into the campground is not for the faint of heart. We were told scenes from the Robin Williams movie were shot here. Pair it with a visit to the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology in Drumheller (not the same place, but not that far) for the true dino-nerds.
Hi Hanks, We are at the start of getting ready to hit the road with our kids. Your videos have been really great So many tips I’m happy to not have to find out all on my own!
Positive Vibes, Positive Vibes. Know this, of the RV channels i watch, you guys are in my Awesome top 5 level. good pacing, good video and sound, and good awesome fun. Hanks Fun is the best. One day hope we can share a fire. Cheers
Not stalking you guys but that sure looks a lot like the Red Bluff RV park! My mom was a camp Host there a while back. We are from the Shasta lake area. Next time you are in the area you have to message my family and I. We have 40 acres north of Shasta Lake on the upper Sacramento River with two private beaches on the river. We are heading to New Hampshire for the summer with the Rv but will be back early August and back on the property if you guys need a place to stay you are more than welcome!
Make sure to bring windshield repair kits with you when driving through Canada and Alaska. When we moved to Alaska and when we left we got chips from rock that spidered. It will come in handy trust me.
Walking around or filming from one spot is fine What ever makes the Hanks Happy .when planning I also go to Google map and look at street view in city's and near my destination to get an Idea of how things look before I get there and so I don't end up in Down Town LSU LOL
Welcome to Canada! Your gonna love it. Hope to see you travelling through out Canada this summer. Come and visit Calgary, and the rest of the provinces and when your in Ontario message us and come to our place and stay awhile.
I love the outside wall n talk. I like. Seeing where you are vs the wall. I love you guys. Hopefully see you around, you coming through Oregon anytime?
Kind of planned trip. First part figured out: House sold, RV picked, being picked up at the end of July. On the road in October. That's as far as we got. Thanks, Hanks, for your awesome, funny, and informative videos. Hubby and I love them.
Do you even see these pinned comments that we leave? If you do, tell us one single upcoming trip that you have planned next! It doesn’t have to be big, we just want to know we aren’t the only ones living this crazy lifestyle :)

Just sent in the loan app. on a 30 ft K-Z Sportsmen. I CAN'T WAIT! Gonna do some boondocking on BLM land here in Colorado
Once we buy our rig, we’re planning to go to the Alamo in San Antonio. It looks beautiful there.
I just found you two crazy characters 😂😂. I have a 4 day trip planned to a small town for a 3 day golf tournament, Greagle Ca. Trying a Hipcamp. Thanks guys.
Heading to the White Mountains in New Hampshire in July! 10 day stay!
When I saw one of your videos the first time, I thought you guys were a joke, so silly. My husband passed away last August and he did all the manly stuff when we pulled our 35 footer fifth wheel. I thought “The Sopranos” ending was genius - and hilarious!!! Love your channel and sense of humor.
Thanks so much! :)
Get rid of the broom for sweeping off your slide's, I used to do that also and then I bought a little battery powered leaf blower it's the best thing I bought for the fifth wheel, gotta get one.
Great idea for those of us who won’t be climbing on the roof!!
The method I use for figuring travel time is to divide the number of miles to travel by 50mph. This allows for fuel, potty, and food breaks. I normally set cruise at 62-63 mph.
Carve that in granite!!!
Bingo!
My husband does that also. He gages it in 50 mph.
These peeps have helped me SO MUCH with my new RV. While watching the tips we fell in love with these two. It seems RV’ing is a boomer thing and Carl & NeNe are our age so they are relatable. Thanks Hanks!!!
Be prepared for the Alaska roads. I’ve watched another couple said to go slow so you can be prepared for the rough places.
I prefer the sitting shots for these lists/vlogs over the walking list/vlog. Love it either way
Mr. Hanks, I'm sure you know, but I hope you know how lucky you are to have the Mrs. Hanks you have.
When Nay dragged Carl to the passenger side of the car I laughed so hard I cried and couldn’t see the show so I just listened. Thanks for making me laugh!
Our GMCs convert the Speedo and other stuff with a push of a button. Last year was our Alaska trip- April to October
Love the videos...Have a wonderful trip to Alaska. Hope to see you as we leave for there mid June for 72 days. Safe travels...Dave and Vonda Gittins

Love the dress. I saw it at Walmart, but didn’t get one. Seeing it with a belt makes it really cute. Going back to get one now!
My husband and I have considered getting an RV so we discovered y’all just a while back. I wanted to thank you two for not only teaching us so much shout RVing, but keeping us entertained! Y’all are too funny and seriously make excellent content. Keep up the good work ❤️
If you haven't gotten an rv yet and you still plan on it, do your research and try to get the best fit and what works for you.
I really enjoyed this "Walking Video" - Advice! Great Advice - Thanks for Sharing!
Outside talking and walking is good…just don’t try to chew gum at the same time!

Still lmao at the “quick” clean up lol. Great helpful tips and love your humor!!!
I like a variety, still and walking. Love the Hanks❤

I love the blogging while walking. You’re both always so easy to listen to and we absorb your wisdom! But we like the verbal exchange! We laugh out loud all the time too while watching.
I'm so excited about you going to AK!!! That's where we want to ultimately be!
I've done the Alaska trip on motorcycle and it's absolutely beautiful. I want to do it again in in our trailer.
Your interaction reminds me of Beaver and Judy on Leave it to Beaver shows - funny- and good info
Wally and Susanne Williams
only go on roads that eighteen wheelers can go on witch has a height if 13feet 6inches and you will always be safe

As always entertaining and informative thanks for another great video
I enjoyed all of the helpful information and I like you guys walking around where we can see the park or resort or wherever you are parked.
Thank you so much, Linda! We are so glad that the information is valuable. We appreciate your great support and for taking the time to leave such a nice comment 😊 - Kyle and Renee
Y'all give out good tips/info, and are funny at the same time! Kudos, and keep up the good work!
Love the walk and talk!
I like your walk and talk. Get to see other camps.
We got us some Hanks pop at the Cracker Barrel in Juliet Illinois! woohoo
COUPLE OF THINGS / IDEAS:
1. RV Towing insurance ( personally just purchased Coach Net )
2. Possible “club” memberships, like Elks and Moose
( many Elks have RV overnight locations with power )
Love your Ideas! Hey Carl you are such a lucky guy to have Ney Ney by your side!
Bought a B Class yesterday and although we didn’t go the trailer route your videos were helpful and yes, entertaining. Especially the dealership info…all true. You’re a cute couple and I wish you the best. Me mostly, but the wife and I will be continuing to watch as I learn about the RV world.
Thank you for great information. Fun, too.
Thank you!
You got this!
@@HappilyEverHanks I did!!! Just checked in and all set up. Can we talk about the roads in AZ though??? Last 50 miles felt like driving inside a Vitamix!!!!
Another great, informative video! Be safe going to Alaska!
Church parking lots can be good places to stay as well Monday through Feriday night. Just call and check
You guys make me smile..
Love you guys! We have been full time for 9 months. We just picked up our new Solitude 2 days ago! Love it!! Thanks for the info and entertainment!!
My family is from Weatherford, Oklahoma. Hopefully you stopped at The Museum.
Hi Hanks,
We are at the start of getting ready to hit the road with our kids. Your videos have been really great So many tips I’m happy to not have to find out all on my own!
What a great team😊❤ Very good together
Positive Vibes, Positive Vibes. Know this, of the RV channels i watch, you guys are in my Awesome top 5 level. good pacing, good video and sound, and good awesome fun. Hanks Fun is the best. One day hope we can share a fire. Cheers
Walking or Standing. I love your videos.
You're smart 🤓, thanks for sharing!
We check the tire pressure the morning before. Get all of this done before the morning you leave!
In addition to fueling early, fuel early on holiday weekends so there is no need to sit in line when headed home when everyone else is headed home.
Make sure to bring windshield repair kits with you when driving through Canada and Alaska. When we moved to Alaska and when we left we got chips from rock that spidered. It will come in handy trust me.
Eshakti is great for dresses with pockets that'll last a little longer than Walmart's
Walking around or filming from one spot is fine What ever makes the Hanks Happy .when planning I also go to Google map and look at street view in city's and near my destination to get an Idea of how things look before I get there and so I don't end up in Down Town LSU LOL
We're from Canada and our trip is well planned! We are even going to hit a Buc-ees as a fuel stop because of you two!
I dont like the moving around thing gets me dizzy...lol love the tips though thanks
Can’t wait to watch your adventures on your trip to Alaska!
