Hormones are chemical messengers secreted by glands and have specific target organs.
In this lesson, you will learn about hormones that stimulate changes to your body during puberty.
Puberty is the timeframe when secondary sexual characteristics develop - in other words, when a boy matures physically to a man, and a girl to a woman.
In males, testes secrete a hormone called testosterone, also known as the male hormone. Testosterone stimulates a wide variety of physiological changes, including increased body hair (especially on your face and in your armpits), more muscle mass, and your voice deepening. As well, testosterone also stimulates sperm cell production in your testes.
In females, the hormone responsible for physical changes during puberty is oestrogen, also known as the female hormone. It is secreted by your ovaries and is responsible for some body hair growth, widening of the hips, and development of breasts. Oestrogen also plays an important role in regulating the menstrual cycle, as described in more detail in another lesson. It thickens the uterus lining in anticipation of ovulation, which is the release of a mature egg from an ovary. In addition, oestrogen stimulates the pituitary gland to secrete the luteinising hormone, which is directly responsible for ovulation. Progesterone is another hormone secreted by your ovaries, and works to maintain the uterus lining thickened by oestrogen. This continues to occur even during pregnancy, so to support the growing foetus. In conclusion, the development of secondary sexual characteristics during puberty is stimulated by testosterone in males, and oestrogen in females. Oestrogen and progesterone are important hormones in regulating the menstrual cycle in females.

And emotions change through puberty too i got told off for that too automatically we no choice in emotions happening in that nor of puberty. Go back to being your normal self more cheerful after puberty. Don't know what emotion it is during puberty perfecly normal happens to us all.
This isn't caused by testosterone.
I think any good normal kid would cry when attacked over body moving when others accuse them of something illegal with it cause it's like getting bullied for just a health prob that kids do at school other looking different in someway it's what bullies go for and adults shouldn't kids don't know any better at that adult do and shouldn't.
How is this relevant to the topic of sexual hormones of reproduction?
I have one question if you eat much unhealthey food with high estrogen levels as a boy can that affect all your manly grows like muscels penis size how your brain will function in the rest of your life. Sorry for bad inglish. Im just a bit intrested.

Oestrogen / estrogen are the same thing - we discussed it:
It is secreted by the ovaries, is responsible for some body hair growth, widening of hips and development of breasts in females. It also plays an important role in regulating the menstrual cycle - it thickens the uterus lining ready for ovulation and stimulates the release of luteinising hormone which causes ovulation.

No losing hair is not a part of puberty. Losing hair is normal. If you keep losing hair you should see a doctor.
That's to adults on here who don't understand what's coming with puberty i'm pretty sure all adults go throgh puberty and shud know about it by 20. If sitill don't something wrong with u adults.

I had puberty at school and i was getting attacked by pupils when it startedcause they thought it was something else at them when my body moved liked that and it got very violent towards me and I striked even before my body did that and i very up set by it all and i hated it suppose to be best times of ur life when going through puberty not for me and i got told off for it when i was age 13 too by same people and they both look a like appear to b in unofrm i think not them jjust in desguisedl I on e that didn't know the answer to body growth and puberty it why i was silent and if accused of something we can remain silent. Don't have to explain or say anything to anyone especiall7y if don't know what happened to our body. I kept quiet for 3 years never spoke again to her till she started again that hwy cause she kept calling tejm o me for every fun or kid things idid as a kid I got pissed of about it i think anyone would if grandparents familyy kept doing that to their own kids.They can't understand emotions correctly think it's guilty when cry not. FBI on here say we can remain silent on any. I did right to.
