This RV MOD Will Completely CHANGE How You Empty Your Black Tank

- Using plastic ammo cans attached to my RV bumper has been a fantastic way to store all my sewer elbows, caps, gloves, and other accessories to keep them readily available when its time to dump my RV wastewater tanks.
This process will vary slightly from rig to rig - but essentially we’re drilling holes into the bottom of these ammo boxes and securing them around the bumper with U-bolts.
On a typical day when I'm dumping my tanks or hooking up at a dump station, the only place I go now is the bumper, everything is back there and accessible, ready to use and easy to put away wet.
This setup is lightweight and I have no concerns about adding these boxes in terms of weight to my bumper. If you are concerned or would like to reinforce your bumper before considering this project take a look at these easy bolt on brackets to help reinforce the RV bumper. mount-n-lock.com/

Nice idea...I would like a few holes to keep it aired out. I don't want to open the box and have it growing inside.
I thought about that when I first installed them as well - but it hasn't been an issue. Nice thing is you could always ADD holes later if it showed signs of being an issue. They're no longer airtight since we drilled the holes for the u-bolts.
I wish my bumper was fully entended out past my rear wall. ABout half of the bumper is under the RV, or I would be totally doing this mod.
I don't see why you couldn't drill into the sidewall of the boxes instead of the bottom....

Do you have a link for the ammo box? I would like to use something reasonable big to store the elbow and the rhino blaster. I have a very small 14 ft camper and a single under storage, anything i can store out, the better. Specially puppy stuff. lol. Definitely doing this. Saw it in someone else, they put it under the trailer and i didn't like it. This tho, definitely worth it.

Great ideas! Sadly for me, my bumper is so tightly tucked up against the body of my 2022 Freedom Express 252rbs there is no room for the U-bolts. Really wish I could use this great idea!
Ahh bummer- could always go through the bumper on one side and leave the other side for hose access
